Yinreng's eyes lit up, and his nose felt a little sore, but he still nodded vigorously. He would take good care of his sister, and he also liked his sweet and soft sister.
"Alright, it's settled then. When your little sister is born, you must take good care of her. Your mother is entrusting the task of caring for your little sister to you." Mingxiu said to Yinreng with a gentle and serious expression.
"Don't worry, Mother Consort, I will definitely take good care of my sister," Yinreng assured Mingxiu with bright eyes.
Mingxiu smiled, said a few more words, and told him to eat quickly.
Yinreng stopped talking and quickly lowered his head to eat. He was really hungry. He had rushed out during his lunch break because he had to go back to class in the afternoon.
Recently, for some reason, the Emperor has started to assign him and his elder brother a lot of homework. They are constantly immersed in their studies, and they have little time to even see their mother, Consort Ming.
Every day he just studies and studies and studies, and when he goes home at night he is so tired that he falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. He has no time to think about anything else. Because of this, he has no chance to do many of his ideas recently, and he doesn't even have time to watch cartoons.
If he hadn't found out today that his mother was pregnant, he would have just wanted to lie in bed and take a nap.
Mingxiu looked at Yinreng eating beside her with some heartache. She could clearly feel that Yinreng had been under a lot of pressure from his studies lately. She had been trying her best to supplement his nutrition, but he had still lost a lot of weight.
Mingxiu also protested to Kangxi, but the emperor simply said that this was normal study for the princes after they entered the Imperial Study.
He went through the same thing, it's all normal, just tell her not to spoil the child too much.
Mingxiu was speechless, but there was nothing she could say. After all, the results of those who studied this way were outstanding.
Their studies are different from those of Mingxiu and the others at school, since they actually have a throne to inherit.
But every time she sees her child studying, she feels heartbroken, because the child is still in elementary school at this age.
However, after being reprimanded by Kangxi, she could only suppress her maternal instincts and refrain from disturbing Kangxi's teaching of the children. She could only try to help the children more with their food.
Studying is already tiring enough, so you still need to make sure your body gets proper nutrition.
After lunch, she let Yinreng rest for a while before telling him to hurry up and go to class. After all, her place was quite far from the Imperial Study, and it wouldn't be good if he was late.
Mingxiu took a nap and slept until almost the entire afternoon before waking up. She had always liked to sleep, but she never seemed to love it this much. However, since finding out she was pregnant, she doesn't know if it's just psychological.
Mingxiu felt that she preferred sleeping.
Looking at the sky outside, Mingxiu sighed, marveling at how much she could eat and sleep, almost living the same routine as one of the last animals in the Chinese zodiac.
After getting up, she didn't go outside for a walk, but just followed Green Bamboo and fiddled with the gifts that everyone had given her.
Looking at the pile of things that had been delivered, she sighed softly, "She's really struck it rich."
Being pregnant is wonderful; I even receive so many gifts.
But those are just sighs, sighs. If she were to get pregnant just to receive gifts, then forget it.
She didn't think she was the kind of person who would compromise her principles for a living.
Mingxiu was a little bored. Now everyone in Yonghe Palace treated her like a treasure and didn't let her do anything. Because it was her first pregnancy, she was also unsure about what she could and couldn't do, so she was feeling very bored.
Yinreng is too busy; he usually doesn't have time to come and keep her company, after Mingxiu sighed for the thirty-sixth time.
Looking at the sky outside the window, I finally made up my mind to stand up.
"Let's bring out the soup that was just simmering in the small kitchen, and then we'll take a stroll around the Qianqing Palace to see what the Emperor is up to."
Green Bamboo hurriedly sent someone to the small kitchen to bring over the freshly stewed soup, and then went with the Empress to the Qing Palace.
The distance from Yonghe Palace to Qianqing Palace is not too far, and Mingxiu knows that pregnant women need to exercise more.
So most people walk there.
She wasn't wearing embroidered platform shoes, just flat shoes. The light blue flat shoes had two pom-poms on them, which wobbled as she walked, making her look very cute.
There was no rush; we were just out killing time because we were bored, so we just strolled around.
Green Bamboo sighed as she watched her mistress's leisurely pace. If she continued walking like this, the soup would probably be cold by the time she reached the Qianqing Palace.
However, since the Empress is currently pregnant, she cannot travel quickly, so she can only have the soup sent to the Qianqing Palace first.
Mingxiu strolled along the road, unsteady on her feet.
"Oh, isn't this Sister Mingfei? Where are you headed, Sister?"
Mingxiu was walking ahead when she suddenly heard a voice behind her. Without turning around, she knew who it was. Her lips twitched slightly. Where did this law come from, and why is it so accurate, that you always run into the person you don't want to see as soon as you step out the door?
Helplessly, they turned their heads and saw Consort Yi sitting in her sedan chair, looking down at them with an air of superiority.
Mingxiu remained silent and waited for Consort Yi's sedan chair to slowly approach. Consort Yi then descended from below to greet Mingxiu.
Mingxiu nodded slightly. "Where are you headed, Consort Yi?"
"Replying to your question, elder sister, I was just about to go to the Empress Dowager's palace to serve her. May I ask where you are headed?"
"Then my dear sister, please hurry on your way. It's getting late, and I need to visit the Emperor soon, so I won't keep you company any longer."
Consort Yi raised an eyebrow. "Sister, is there something you need to discuss with the Emperor? Why don't you tell me and see if I can help you resolve it? Or perhaps we could go to the Empress Dowager's palace together. The Emperor is so busy with state affairs that he probably doesn't have time to deal with this matter."
