Chapter 221 The Drunkard

Yinreng was lying inside with his back to the bed when he felt movement beside the bed. He turned around and looked at Yinzhi, still expressionless. The person who was taking off the First Prince's coat felt uncomfortable.

Yinzhi probably sensed the gaze of the person next to him. He turned his head in a daze to look at the person looking at him, slapped Yinreng's arm, and said drunkenly, "Second brother, why are you looking at me?"

Yinreng chuckled foolishly, not quite understanding: "Hehe, big brother, why are there two of you? Does that mean I can be the third brother from now on?"

"What do you mean two? Second brother, are you confused? You don't even recognize your own brother?" He said, thinking he was being fierce but actually just lightly slapping Yinreng. Yinreng felt his two older brothers hitting him and immediately fought back, shouting, "Both of my older brothers are hitting me! You have no martial ethics! I'm all alone. Wait until I get some help to beat you up together!"

Mingxiu stood to the side, her lips twitching, watching the two people on the bed scratching each other like kittens. One of them insisted that the two of them were hitting him, while the other didn't understand what he was saying.

The young eunuch serving nearby watched in trepidation as the two noble masters fought on the bed.

Mingxiu couldn't bear to watch, so she waved her hand to separate the two of them and then had someone give each of them a bowl of hangover soup.

Yinreng and Yinzhi were initially unwilling. Mingxiu understood that the hangover soup didn't taste good, but how dare you two drunkards complain? You've really gone too far! She had them force-fed the soup to the brim.

Neither of them drank much; it was just their first time drinking and they weren't good at holding their liquor. They fell asleep quickly after finishing their drinks.

Just then, someone came to announce that the Third Prince and the Fourth Prince had come to see Yinreng and Yinzhi.

Mingxiu let them in. Yinzhi and Yinzhen entered and, seeing Mingxiu, quickly greeted her, saying, "Greetings, Mother Consort Ming."

Mingxiu waved for the two to get up, and looking at the two little radish heads, she smiled and said, "How was your dinner tonight? Did you eat enough?"

Consort Rong and the Imperial Noble Consort had also instructed her to help look after the children, and Mingxiu, who liked both children, agreed.

“We’ve eaten our fill. My fourth brother and I wanted to come see our eldest brother and the Crown Prince. We just went to our eldest brother’s tent, and they said they’d delivered it to the Crown Prince, so we came over. How are they?” Yinzhi held Yinzhen’s hand and stood obediently beside him, looking at Mingxiu as he spoke.

Mingxiu smiled and nodded, pointing towards the bed and saying, "Don't worry, your eldest brother and Crown Prince are fine. They just fell asleep. They'll be fine when they wake up tomorrow. You two can come over tomorrow."

The two nodded obediently, and Mingxiu smiled and praised them, saying they were very good. Then she had someone escort them back to their tent.

Mingxiu ordered everyone to guard the area and prevent others from entering, then, feeling exhausted, she returned to her own tent.

The banquet wasn't over yet, so there weren't many people around. Mingxiu, along with Lvzhu and Yulan, sat outside their tent, looking at the scenery.

There were some food and drinks on the table, and Green Bamboo and Yulan sat down next to them to eat and drink.

Mingxiu had already eaten her fill at the banquet and wasn't hungry. She slowly sipped her tea while gazing at the starry sky outside.

The sky was filled with twinkling stars, and Mingxiu was very happy to see them. In modern times, due to global warming, garbage pollution, and the bright lights of the city, it was impossible to see the stars.

Unlike now, the sky is full of stars when you look up. The three of them sit outside, leisurely eating and chatting, feeling very comfortable. They will go back after the banquet ends in the evening.

Mingxiu was sitting obediently inside the tent reading a book when she saw Kangxi enter, reeking of alcohol. Mingxiu put the book aside and got up to help Kangxi take off his outer clothes.

"Why is Your Majesty drinking so much? Luckily, there's some hangover soup brewed in the kitchen. Have some later."

Kangxi straightened up, looked down at the people bustling around him, and nodded.

After taking off her clothes and placing them aside, Mingxiu handed the warmed hangover soup to Kangxi, who immediately took a big gulp and finished it in no time.

Seeing how easily Kangxi drank it, Mingxiu couldn't help but recall how uncomfortable the two drunkards she had just seen looked when they drank the hangover soup.

"Has His Majesty just visited Bao Cheng and Bao Qing?"

Kangxi nodded: "I've seen it. The two drunkards are sleeping soundly, and Baoqing is even snoring. These two rascals are drinking now, aren't they afraid of harming their health?"

Mingxiu listened to Kangxi's words with a smile: "Then Your Majesty cannot only blame the two of them. We must see who put the wine on the two children's table."

The two children probably knew it was alcohol after taking a sip, but they still kept drinking it.

Kangxi nodded. These people all need to be punished, but Bao Cheng and Bao Qing should not be let off the hook either.

After resting for a while, Mingxiu asked someone to call her water. Kangxi was now covered in the smell of alcohol, which was quite pungent and Mingxiu couldn't stand it.

"Your Majesty, I have prepared the water. Please go and take a bath," Mingxiu said solicitously.

Kangxi naturally didn't miss Mingxiu's disgusted look just now; she was disgusted by his strong smell of alcohol.

Although he knew he smelled bad from the alcohol, he snorted and, without giving Mingxiu a chance to explain, grabbed her arm and dragged her to the bathroom: "You go too, serve me a bath."

Mingxiu had no choice but to be dragged along. The next day, Mingxiu opened her eyes slowly as the light shone from outside. Kangxi had already left.

Mingxiu tidied herself up and stretched, enjoying the cool morning breeze.

The weather was exceptionally nice, and Mingxiu was thinking of going to see Yinreng and the others after breakfast. However, as soon as Mingxiu sat down at the table, she saw Yinreng and the other three walking over together.

"Greetings, Your Majesty the Empress Dowager," Yinreng walked over, leading his brothers in a cheerful bow, and then sat down at the dining table.

The whole process was smooth and effortless, leaving Mingxiu somewhat speechless. She asked someone to bring over a few sets of tableware and beckoned the three children standing nearby to sit down.

"You haven't had breakfast yet."

Yinreng nodded, and only began to speak after seeing that his younger brothers had already started eating. He didn't need to worry about his older brother, because of his mother's influence. Yinzhi was always very comfortable with Mingxiu.

"We agreed to have breakfast at Consort Ming's place today." Actually, no, Father Emperor punished them for drinking and didn't leave them any breakfast today, plus they got up late and hadn't eaten.

It just so happened that his younger brothers had come to visit but hadn't had anything to eat, so they decided to eat at Consort Ming's place. The timing was perfect. Yinreng looked at the table...
