After a while, Yu Lan returned and said that this was arranged by someone under the command of Prince Zasak Doruo. Ming Xiu's eyes flickered.
Looking at the person still chatting and laughing, he felt that it shouldn't be him. The emperor intended for him to marry into the royal family, and the candidate had already been chosen. Now he was just waiting for the official imperial decree to grant the marriage.
At this crucial juncture, there's no need for Prince Zasak Dorok to create unnecessary trouble. It would be disastrous if the marriage fell through because of this.
But if it's not him, then who is it?
Mingxiu wasn't quite sure, but after looking at everyone who had done it, she thought, "Well, people have to acknowledge their own abilities."
She really couldn't see anything.
So Mingxiu could only tell Kangxi about it when she got home that night and ask him how to handle the situation.
When the banquet ended in the evening, Mingxiu went home first, because there was a competition tomorrow, and that would be the real excitement.
After washing up, Mingxiu played with Chenghuan's toys for a while, and then had someone carry Chenghuan back to bed.
She herself sat on the bed reading a book, slowly waiting for Kangxi to come over.
For some reason, Kangxi arrived unusually late tonight. Mingxiu was almost asleep waiting in bed, but he still hadn't come.
Is it really not coming?
Mingxiu's face turned pale, and she had a bad feeling, but it shouldn't be like this.
Just then, Kangxi walked in. Mingxiu was startled and looked at the hurried Kangxi with some confusion: "What's wrong with you?"
As soon as Mingxiu finished speaking, Kangxi came over and pulled her into his arms, kissing her. Caught off guard, Mingxiu was pulled down onto the bed.
Looking at the image of Emperor Kangxi, with his bloodshot eyes and a strong aura of heat emanating from him, something was clearly wrong.
No way, she really was drugged?
Mingxiu had one last thought in her mind before Kangxi pulled her into a sea of desire.
The whole night was spent in this turmoil. Kangxi was usually very long-lasting, but now, with the added drug, he didn't stop all night. In the end, Mingxiu simply couldn't take it anymore.
They all passed out immediately, then were woken up by the commotion on their bodies, and then passed out again.
Not knowing what day it was, when Mingxiu opened her eyes she saw Kangxi sitting beside her.
The room was brightly lit, and Mingxiu couldn't stand the taste: "Water, I want to drink water."
When Kangxi heard the sound and saw that Mingxiu had woken up, he quickly got up to pour her a glass of water. Mingxiu drank a large glass of water from Kangxi's hand before she felt better.
He glared at Kangxi and said irritably, "What exactly happened last night?"
When Kangxi heard Mingxiu mention yesterday's events, his expression turned somewhat strange: "You really had a hard time last night. After it ended last night, I drank a lot of water. I was planning to come and find you after taking a bath, but I suddenly felt very hot. Before I could react, a woman suddenly walked in."
At this point, Mingxiu understood. Since the person had appeared here, it meant that the person had failed. However, Mingxiu was very curious: "With so many people around you, how did that person get in, and how did they drug you?"
"Before coming here last night, I had already sent someone to investigate. It turns out to be an unfavored son of the Zasak Doruo Prince. They didn't want to see him get closer to the Qing Dynasty, so they contacted people from another tribe to do this."
Mingxiu's lips twitched. This son of hers was truly a ruthless killer.
"Just because of this, he was able to collude with outsiders to frame his own father. It's truly eye-opening."
Kangxi nodded, still shaken, and looked at Mingxiu: "Luckily, you were there last night."
Mingxiu rolled her eyes at him, then had Kangxi help her get up and wash. Only after eating did her resentment dissipate.
After all, she was really exhausted last night.
Kangxi purged all those who had plotted against him. This little incident did not affect the subsequent competition. Mingxiu sat in her seat watching the performance. The current event was wrestling, but of course, this event had nothing to do with the four children accompanying Mingxiu.
Cheng Huan, Yin Zhi, Yin Zhen, and Yin Qi were all sitting with Ming Xiu. Since they were all still children, it was fine for them to sit there.
Besides, this match has nothing to do with them. They're all small and weak; if they went up there, they'd probably be thrown off in no time.
Mingxiu, Consort Rong, and Xiaohesheli were all watching from the sidelines, mainly to see Urgun, since he was obligated to come out on this occasion.
Mingxiu looked at Urgun on the stage and felt that he was really good. Since Prince Zasak Dorro intended to marry the royal princess, he would naturally not let his son marry a woman, so the backyard was still very clean.
Mingxiu glanced at Consort Rong beside her, whose face was filled with resentment and sadness. Mingxiu patted her hand.
Consort Rong turned her head and smiled at Mingxiu.
If nothing unexpected happens, their relationship should be settled.
After the competition ended, it was time for everyone to discuss things. The main reason for coming here was because of the wool.
For the rest of the time, Mingxiu took Chenghuan to play on the grassland. They rode horses one day and picked flowers the next. They had a great time.
That evening, Mingxiu had just seen Chenghuan off after she had gone to bed, exhausted from playing, when Kangxi came in.
"You're back. How did the talks go?" Mingxiu asked, noticing Kangxi's tired appearance. She quickly poured him a glass of water.
Kangxi took the water and pulled Mingxiu to sit beside him: "There's nothing wrong with it. It's just what should have happened. Besides, this is such a good opportunity, how could they not seize it?"
