Chapter 298 Getting Up Early

In the morning, Mingxiu was sitting at the table eating breakfast with a sullen expression. The table was full of her favorite foods, such as steamed buns, fried dough sticks, and soy milk. Logically speaking, it should have been a very plentiful meal, but why was Mingxiu unhappy?

That was naturally because of the two people sitting opposite her, and because it was still quite dark outside.

Mingxiu took a sip of porridge, looked up at the sky outside where the stars were still visible, sighed, and turned to look at the person opposite her with a mournful expression: "Tell me, why did I wake you up so early in the morning? Let me tell you, this is unfilial, you know? You only know how to call me every day when there's something wrong."

Yinreng smiled sheepishly, still holding an egg in his hand. He had just finished peeling it and put it in Guarjia's bowl before looking at Mingxiu and replying.

"Oh dear, Mother Consort Ming, I'm only doing this for your sake."

Mingxiu looked at Yinreng indignantly: "How is this thinking of me? You should explain it to me properly, then I'll know how you think of me. You wake me up before dawn. Don't you know that your mother, Ming, usually prefers to sleep until the sun is high in the sky?"

Guarjia, who was eating an egg nearby, overheard their conversation and smiled quietly to herself.

These two are really hilarious. She's been in contact with Mingxiu a lot lately and has gotten to know her quite well. This Imperial Noble Consort's favorite thing to do is to leisurely read and rest in the palace. There's basically no time for paying respects in the palace now, which is probably because the Imperial Noble Consort canceled it so she could sleep in.

After all, she hadn't paid her respects to the emperor since the morning of the second day after her wedding. At first, she was uneasy, afraid that the Imperial Noble Consort didn't like her. But later, the Crown Prince told her that this was the Imperial Noble Consort's usual practice.

She was slightly relieved, and after spending time with her, she came to understand that the Imperial Noble Consort genuinely disliked paying respects to the Emperor, considering it a rather polite formality.

Of course, if you really want them to be polite, they can do so.

I'm the kind of person who likes to sleep until almost noon, but today I was dragged out by the two of them and forced to get up a long time early. How could I not be angry?

This reason, in particular, is infuriating.

The reason is this: today, Yinreng and Lady Guarjia were going to leave the palace this morning, so they got up very early to go out and play. However, after getting up, Yinreng didn't know why he really wanted to eat the food prepared by the chefs in Yonghe Palace.

So they brought Guarjia over early in the morning and called out everyone from Yonghe Palace, saying they wanted to come and have breakfast. If you're just having breakfast, why did you have to wake up the master as well?

They euphemistically say that you need permission to eat.

Mingxiu was woken up by his unreliable reason. Heaven knows, she stayed up too late watching dramas last night and had just fallen asleep in the early hours of the morning when she was woken up.

It was such a ridiculous reason that Mingxiu felt like punching someone when she found out.

As it turned out, Yinreng was still being very unreliable, laughing and joking around, which made Mingxiu sit at the dinner table with a face full of black lines, wanting to hit him.

What he did was really unreliable.

Therefore, he now finds Yinreng particularly displeasing. As for Guarjia, he can let it go. After all, even if she had a few more lives, she wouldn't come to Yonghe Palace at this time, let alone wake her up.

After the three of them finished eating, Mingxiu watched the two of them leave with a sullen face. She rolled her eyes at them, didn't even want to say goodbye, and turned around to go back to sleep. She would deal with everything after she woke up.

Mingxiu felt that both of her eyes were swollen and she couldn't open them at all. Her mind was also becoming muddled, and she desperately needed to go to bed to catch up on her sleep.

Mingxiu returned to her room feeling resentful. Outside, Yinreng was leading Lady Guarjia out of the palace. Yinreng had promised to take Lady Guarjia out for a trip today, and he had to keep his word.

In the carriage, Lady Guarjia looked at Yinreng and said, "Your Highness, isn't this a bit inappropriate? We've forcibly woken Consort Ming out of bed."

Seeing her worried expression, Yinreng waved his hand and said mysteriously, "Don't worry, it's alright. Consort Ming won't hold it against us. Besides, even if she did, it's not our business."

Why? What do you mean by arguing? It's not about arguing about their affairs. It was clearly them who woke up Consort Ming.

Yinreng smiled mysteriously, but Guarjia refused to say anything when asked.

Guarjia knew nothing about this. After taking another nap, Mingxiu finally felt completely awake, so she packed her things and stormed into the Qianqing Palace.

"Your Majesty, I noticed that Bao Cheng even had time to take his wife out today. Is Your Majesty not busy anymore?" Mingxiu rushed into the Qianqing Palace and asked Kangxi.

Kangxi slowly raised his head, looking at Mingxiu with a puzzled expression. Although he didn't quite understand, he was indeed not very busy anymore.

Kangxi put down his pen, stood up straight, and said, "What's wrong with you today? Did Baocheng say something?"

As she spoke, she pulled Mingxiu to sit down next to her. Mingxiu struggled a couple of times, but couldn't break free.

She snorted angrily and glanced at Kangxi: "Are you really unaware or pretending not to know? That brat Baocheng brought his wife to my palace for breakfast early this morning, and he even insisted on waking me up to eat with him. After we finished eating, he was still acting like a jerk to me, saying that he had nothing to do today and wanted to take Guarjia out of the palace to play."

Kangxi's lips twitched. This brat was doing it on purpose, deliberately trying to get revenge on him.
