Chapter 414 Modern Side Story Six

Since their schools were in different areas, they walked separately after leaving the house.

Emperor Kangxi originally intended to send Mingxiu there, but she refused outright.

His car was so eye-catching that if he rode it there, he would definitely be the coolest kid in the whole school. Mingxiu didn't want to show off, and she was enjoying riding her electric scooter right now, so there was no need for that.

Freshman year is usually the most relaxed time in college, so Mingxiu had a very easy year. The school didn't require students to take the CET-4 or CET-6 exams to graduate, so Mingxiu didn't have any exams. Every day, she just studied photography techniques, did some homework, and wrote novels at home.

That's right, Mingxiu persevered in her novel writing career. The reason is that her novel was very profitable, earning tens of thousands of yuan every month. This was her career, so she never stopped updating it.

She rushed home in a hurry. It was Friday, and Mingxiu needed to catch a bus to Hengdian because it was the first time Kangxi had acted in a drama, and Mingxiu definitely had to go and witness it.

After returning home, Mingxiu put her schoolbag down, changed her clothes, and then picked up her suitcase to set off.

When Mingxiu boarded the plane, she still felt a little unreal. Looking at the camera bag in her hand, Mingxiu grinned, determined to record Kangxi's embarrassing moments.

Hengdian is a place that Mingxiu has always longed to visit, but she has never been there before. As soon as she got off the plane, she saw Kangxi standing in the crowd waiting for her.

Mingxiu walked over cheerfully and waved the camera in her hand at Kangxi: "See? I brought all my tools of the trade. Take a good picture."

Kangxi looked at the camera in Mingxiu's hand, his forehead twitching, feeling that letting her come over was a mistake.

"Let's go. I don't have many scenes to film this time, and I don't have much time either, so I've been staying in hotels. If you don't like it, we can buy a house here," Kangxi said casually, pulling Mingxiu along as they started walking. He really didn't want to dwell on this issue anymore.

Mingxiu followed Kangxi's movements. This time, it wasn't that Kangxi wanted to perform, but rather that their teacher had specifically requested Kangxi to act in the movie they were preparing.

Putting aside other things, Emperor Kangxi did a good job in respecting his teachers. Perhaps it was an inherent part of his thinking, so although he was a little conflicted when his teacher spoke, he did not refuse, since his role in the story was quite simple anyway.

"Come in, this is my room. Unpack first, then I'll be going to the film set in a bit. Do you want to come with me, or do you want to rest a bit and decide later?" Kangxi said as he led Mingxiu into his room.

"Let's go together, let's go together!" Mingxiu said happily, not forgetting why she was there.

"Sure, but you can go in, but don't bring your camera. The crew doesn't allow cameras." Kangxi said, glancing at Mingxiu's camera.

Mingxiu looked at Kangxi suspiciously. Really? She couldn't believe it.

Kangxi nodded seriously. It was indeed not allowed, but it could be allowed if you talked to him properly. However, he had no intention of doing so.

Mingxiu had no choice but to put down the camera.

“It’s okay, even without a camera I still have my phone, I can take pictures with my phone.” Mingxiu waved her phone at Kangxi and said.

Kangxi stiffened, his lips moved slightly but he still didn't say anything.

And so, Mingxiu went with Kangxi.

It's April now, and the weather is cool. Mingxiu is looking around with great interest. There are many people around her taking pictures wearing different styles of Hanfu, and Mingxiu is also a little tempted.

"If you like it, I'll take you to take some photos when I have time," Kangxi said, seeing Mingxiu's excited expression.

Mingxiu nodded.

Suddenly remembering something, Mingxiu quickly asked Kangxi, "I've seen people bring food or drinks when they visit the set. Do you think I should buy some too?" Mingxiu asked somewhat uncertainly.

Kangxi sighed helplessly, "By the time I think about it, it will be too late. Don't worry, there's no need to buy anything. Everyone inside is a student from our school, and I'm just a nobody, so it doesn't matter whether I buy anything or not."

Alright, since Kangxi has already said so, Mingxiu doesn't care anymore. Anyway, she's just a lazy bum, and Kangxi doesn't rely on this for a living. Neither of them cares about this or their careers.

They arrived shortly afterward, and Mingxiu followed Kangxi, marveling at the surrounding decorations along the way.

"Is this a period drama? I can't tell from the costumes," Mingxiu said, somewhat puzzled. She clearly remembered Kangxi telling her it was a period drama, so why wasn't anyone wearing period costumes?

Kangxi glanced around and said, "It's a period drama, but I heard it's set in a fictional world. I don't know the specifics. Actually, I don't understand why the teacher insisted on having me come here." Kangxi said helplessly, recalling the teacher's sincere words and moral blackmail when he initially refused.

Mingxiu chuckled. Indeed, she didn't understand either. Although Kangxi had been living as an ordinary person for a year, he had been an emperor before. The upbringing he received was completely different. Even now, he still thought acting was something that couldn't be presented in a respectable way. But now he was being asked to act. What kind of acting could he possibly do?

"Ye Xuan, you're here! Come on over, it's almost your turn to try on clothes." Mingxiu and Kangxi were still talking when they suddenly heard a voice from the front. Ye Xuan was Kangxi's name in this life. To be honest, Mingxiu was quite unfamiliar with this Ye Xuan.

Mingxiu looked up and saw a small old man, around forty or fifty years old, smiling broadly at Kangxi.

Mingxiu looked up at Kangxi and saw a look of resistance on his face.

Mingxiu couldn't help but smile.

"This must be Ye Xuan's wife, right? Hello, hello! It's our first meeting, so please forgive my slight rudeness." The old man quickly came over to Kangxi, who hadn't gone over yet. This was a student he had finally managed to recruit; he couldn't just abandon him.

"Hello teacher, my name is Qiao Mingxiu, you can just call me Mingxiu." Mingxiu greeted him with a smile.

"Okay, okay, hello Xiaomingxiu, my surname is Chen, you can just call me Teacher Chen." Chen Sheng said with a smile.

Mingxiu smiled and didn't say anything.

"Come on, come on, it's Ye Xuan's turn to try on your clothes. Hurry up, I know you're a germaphobe, these are clothes I made especially for you, I guarantee they'll be spotless." Chen Sheng urged Kangxi to go inside, and didn't forget to make arrangements for Mingxiu: "Little Mingxiu, when Ye Xuan has to get busy, you can wander around here or sit there and watch, it's all up to you." As he spoke, he pointed to the chair next to the director's camera.
