Chapter 98 Arguing

"Please, Your Majesty?" Seeing that Kangxi was not speaking, Mingxiu thought he was unwilling, so she quickly spoke up and coaxed him.

Looking at the person who was acting coquettishly towards her, she wanted to tease her a little, so she said, "Do you know that even the Imperial Noble Consort's palace has other people living there? You, on the contrary, want to occupy a palace for yourself."

Hearing Kangxi say this, Xiu was a little unhappy: "Your Majesty, as you said, I can't even fit myself in Yonghe Palace. If another concubine comes, I will definitely only be able to make room for her. She will definitely complain that the place is too small and will come to Your Majesty. In that case, Your Majesty will be the one in trouble. So I am solving the problem for Your Majesty."

For a moment, Emperor Kangxi was speechless; he had never seen such a shameless person.

"Then my beloved consort can clear out some rooms later, and I see that the back of your room is still empty." Kangxi gestured for Mingxiu to look ahead.

Mingxiu knew exactly which place Kangxi was referring to, but she just didn't want anyone to move in. It wasn't like there was no other place available, so why would she agree to the Emperor's suggestion?

"Your Majesty, with so many rooms in the harem, do you really need a place for me to stay?" Mingxiu blurted out without thinking.

Kangxi was taken aback. He looked down at the stubborn look in the woman's eyes and was puzzled. They had been talking just now, so what was going on?

But seeing Mingxiu's stubborn red eyes, he couldn't bear to say anything more and sighed, "Alright, didn't you start this? I was just going along with what you said. What are you so angry about?"

Mingxiu was even angrier. Looking at the man's expression of complete ignorance, she was so angry that tears welled up in her eyes: "Whatever Your Majesty says goes. How dare I say anything? Besides, other palaces have people, so why can't my palace have people?"

"I just wanted to live alone in Yonghe Palace, but Your Majesty can't even grant me this small wish. Do you have so many concubines that you have to stuff them into Chenmi Palace?" Mingxiu said, then turned and left.

He stopped paying attention to Kangxi.

Kangxi stared blankly at Mingxiu's departing figure, momentarily losing face after being humiliated like this.

Seeing Mingxiu turn away in a huff, Kangxi's face darkened immediately, and he turned to leave as well.

Liang Jiugong followed behind Kangxi helplessly.

The passersby only saw their master storm back into his house, and not long after, the emperor also stormed off, but in the exact opposite direction.

Back in her room, Mingxiu was still angry as she recalled what had just happened. She didn't know how things had turned out this way, and why she couldn't control her temper.

We had a good discussion, but it turned out like this.

He would have many concubines, wasn't that something everyone knew? Why was she angry? She had clearly planned when she entered the harem that her main goal was to cultivate Yinreng, and that her relationship with Kangxi would be one of mutual intimacy.

But for some reason, the more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Mingxiu sat on the tatami and cried her eyes out. She even chased Luzhu and the others out.

She lay on the tatami mat, letting her tears flow freely. She just had too few tears; once she finished crying, she was fine, not angry anymore, and tomorrow would be a new day.

Mingxiu comforted herself while tears streamed down her face.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of the door opening.

Somewhat annoyed, she said, "Didn't I tell you? I'll be fine by myself in a bit. Don't come in, don't come in, can't you hear me?"

After saying that, it seemed that the figure from before had not closed the door and left, but instead walked closer.

Mingxiu was a little angry; these days, they don't even treat her like their master.

She looked up and saw Kangxi staring into her eyes. For a moment, she was stunned, tears welling up in her eyes and she forgot to let them fall.

Kangxi felt a pang of sympathy seeing the two men in front of him with their red eyes and faces.

He was just about to walk out, but when he reached the door, he didn't take the step.

Although I'm still angry, it doesn't mean I haven't seen what's happening around me.

He had noticed the emotions displayed by the palace servants as they watched him leave.

If he leaves now, everyone in the palace will probably laugh at Mingxiu tomorrow.

And for some reason, I didn't want to leave like this, as if I would lose something if I left like this.

I'll definitely regret it.

After hesitating for a long time, I finally came back.

Kangxi was tall and strong, and when he was angry, he walked faster than others, taking two steps at a time. Liang Jiugong struggled to catch up with him.

Just as they were catching their breath, they saw the Emperor turn around and walk back.

I had no choice but to catch up quickly.

As Kangxi approached the door, he saw that the people who had served Mingxiu were all outside, and the sound of weeping could be heard from inside the room.

Some of them had dark faces: "You dog servants, it's a waste that your master has always treated you so well. Why don't you open the door now? Are you just going to watch her suffer in there?"

The servants outside immediately knelt down, trembling, and didn't know what to say.

Finally, Green Bamboo spoke up: "Your Majesty, Her Majesty has driven us all out and won't let us in. We really dare not go in on our own."

Kangxi snorted coldly and pushed the door open to go inside.

Then I saw Mingxiu sobbing uncontrollably.

When Mingxiu saw Kangxi appear, the tears she had just suppressed returned, and she cried out, "Your Majesty!"

Emperor Kangxi held Mingxiu in his arms with heartache: "Alright, stop crying. You'll look bad if you cry and your face gets all messed up. You just don't want anyone to come into your palace, right? I'll grant your wish."

Mingxiu felt even more aggrieved after hearing Kangxi's words. "Your Majesty is so good to me," she cried, hugging Kangxi for a long time before stopping.

Wiping away her tears, she sat up from Kangxi's embrace and saw him looking at her with amusement. She blushed and walked to the mirror next to her to see if her face was smudged.

Kangxi was already both amused and exasperated by the scene of Mingxiu hugging him and crying while praising him, and now she was making him laugh even harder.

They are so cute.

Mingxiu blushed even more when she heard the laughter coming from behind her.

After tidying himself up, he sat down next to Kangxi again.

Somewhat annoyed, she said, "Your Majesty, it's all your fault that I'm being mocked. How dare you laugh at others now?"

Kangxi laughed even more heartily, saying between laughs, "Alright, it was my fault. Shall I apologize to my beloved consort? Please forgive me."

Mingxiu blushed slightly and said stiffly, "Since Your Majesty has apologized, I will reluctantly forgive you. However, Your Majesty must remember to keep your promise."

Kangxi smiled helplessly, reached out a finger, and gently flicked Mingxiu's nose. "You..."

"Don't worry, I won't forget. But shouldn't my beloved concubine make it up to me? Tonight's whole thing was started by you."

Mingxiu's face, which had just calmed down, flushed red again.
