Hailanzhu was very meticulous. If she used a knife to cut it, the notch would be too neat, which would arouse Hauge's suspicion.
She rested under the tree for a while, and when she heard some noise, she quickly put on her veil and pretended to be anxious. She even jumped up and down a few times, which looked quite comical.
"Haha!" A burst of laughter suddenly rang out.
Hailanzhu looked up at the sound and saw a man of about twenty years old looking at her. He was quite handsome, dressed in military uniform, and looked very imposing. Several eunuchs followed behind him.
It's not hard to guess that this person is Hauge, whose eyebrows and eyes bear a striking resemblance to Huang Taiji.
But she pretended not to know and asked irritably, "What's so funny?"
Upon hearing this, one of the eunuchs was very dissatisfied, saying, "You should kneel before the Prince."
"Your Highness?" Upon hearing this, Hailanzhu pretended to be frightened and knelt down. "This servant was blind and did not recognize Your Highness. I beg Your Highness's forgiveness."
Haug didn't tell her to get up, but slowly walked over and asked, "What are you doing?"
"N-nothing," she said, looking down as if she had done something wrong.
Hauge glanced at her sideways, intending to tease her, but seeing her dark skin, he lost interest. "Tell me or not, if you don't, I'll throw you into the Shenxing Division and skin you alive."
"No..." Hailanzhu shook her head, "Your Highness, spare my life!"
He thought to himself: No wonder Huang Taiji didn't choose you as the crown prince, so that's why he's like this.
She had initially felt guilty for implicating Hauge in dealing with Yunxian, but seeing him like this, her guilt vanished immediately.
"Then hurry up and tell me!" Haug said sternly.
With tears in her eyes, Hailanzhu raised her head and pointed to the tree branch, saying, "The kite is stuck there."
Hauge looked in the direction Hailanzhu pointed and saw a stunningly beautiful woman painted on the kite.
"How beautiful!" Hauge was stunned. After regaining his senses, he quickly climbed up the tree and took down the kite whose string had broken.
"Thank you very much, Your Highness," Hailanzhu said gratefully.
But Haug was a scoundrel. "This is what I got, how can I give it to you?"
Hailanzhu sneered inwardly, but looked panicked on the surface. "Your Highness, please have mercy! This kite belongs to my master. If I fail to find it, my master will surely punish me."
Hauge looked on indifferently, "Punishing you is none of my business, not me."
Hailanzhu could only grit her teeth and plead again, bowing her head, "Your Highness, I beg you."
"Ha..." Hauge scoffed, ignoring her words and staring intently at the image and words on the kite.
After a long pause, he said, "Tell me who the woman in this portrait is and where she is now, and perhaps I will return this kite to you."
"Really?" Hailanzhu's eyes shone with hope.
“Of course it’s true. Hurry up and tell me. If I change my mind a second later, you won’t have another chance,” Hauge said.
He thought he would lead Hailanzhu by the nose, but little did he know that he was the one in the game.
"Good!" Hailanzhu couldn't wait. "This person is really my master, who is currently in the Cold Palace."
Upon learning that the beauty was in the palace, Hao Ge's heart began to itch, but since it was broad daylight, he couldn't openly look at her and could only restrain himself. "How could she be in the Cold Palace?"
“This…” Hailanzhu stammered.
"Speak now!" Haug's tone was threatening.
"Yes!" Hailanzhu did not hide anything and told her everything about Yan Zha Qingcheng being banished to the Cold Palace.
"I've heard about this too. I didn't know she looked like this!" Haug said to himself, stroking his chin.
Seeing the dazed look in his eyes, Hailanzhu knew that the matter was almost settled.
"Your Highness, may I have the kite returned to you?" she asked cautiously.
"Of course." This time, Hauge answered very readily.
"Thank you, Your Highness." Hailanzhu quickly got up, took the kite, and hurried away.
But she didn't go far. She kept a close eye on Hauge in the dark. Only after the group of people left did she return to where she had been flying the kite and change back into her original clothes.
She had barely left when Su Mo'er arrived.
Just in case, these things naturally need to be destroyed.
Aside from Hailanzhu, Dayuer, and Sumoer, this was done without anyone knowing.
After Hailanzhu returned to Guanju Palace, Qingluan had already prepared a delicious meal.
After eating some food, she lay down on the bed to rest and recharge her energy for the evening.
Thanks to Namuzhong's relentless pursuit of Huang Taiji these past few days, it would have been even more difficult for Hailanzhu to accomplish these tasks.
When she opened her eyes, it was already dark. She hurriedly ate some late-night snacks and then quietly went to the Cold Palace again.
Just as she had expected, Haug arrived!
She stood in a secluded corner, observing the people inside. Actually, she didn't need to go again this time, but she was afraid that the thoughtless Yan Zha Qingcheng would mess things up at a crucial moment.
In the dim candlelight, Yan Zha's flaws were hidden, making her look perfect. When Hauge saw this, he almost drooled.
"Who are you?" Yan Zhaqingcheng obeyed Hailanzhu's orders and took two steps back in fear.
Haug dared not move forward, afraid that the duck that was almost in his hands would fly away. "Don't be afraid, I am Haug."
"Hauge? Is he the current First Prince?" Yan Zha asked.
Haug nodded.
But Yan Zha Qingcheng didn't believe it and said sternly, "The eldest prince is of noble status, how could he possibly come to this place? You villain, how dare you deceive me in his name? Aren't you afraid I'll call for help?"
"No, don't shout!" Hauge quickly stopped her and handed her the waist tag that symbolized his identity.
Yan Zhaqing took a closer look before confirming that the person in front of her was indeed Hauge, and then asked timidly, "It really is you, but what are you doing here?"
Hauge blushed and recounted the portraits he had seen on the kite that afternoon, praising, "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen; you make me want to meet you."
"Thank you for your praise, Your Highness," Yan Zha replied with a slight smile.
Hauge stared intently at Yan Zhaqingcheng, causing her to lower her head repeatedly.
"Is there something on my face? Why is Prince Beilang staring at me?" she asked timidly.
“No.” Hauge shook his head. “I was thinking, you are so gentle and kind, how come there are rumors in the palace that you are very arrogant and domineering?”
As soon as he finished speaking, Yan Zhaqing's tears fell.
"Don't cry." Seeing her tears, Haug's heart broke along with hers.
She choked up and asked, "What do you think?"
“I naturally believe what I see,” Haug reassured him.
She gently wiped the beads from her face, saying, "In this entire palace, you are the only one who truly believes me." Then she recited all the words that Hailanzhu had taught her.
