Hailanzhu's lips curled slightly. "You want to know what happened?"
Yan Zhaqiu slowly rose to her feet. "I knew you wouldn't come to Chengxi Palace without a reason."
"Heh..." Hailanzhu scoffed, "You're really stupid to believe Yunxian's words."
"Could it be that she deceived me?" Yan Zhaqiu asked anxiously, grabbing Hailanzhu's sleeve.
"You only understand now, but it's too late." Hailanzhu glanced at her contemptuously. "Yunxian's goal is to harm your child. I am just a part of her plan. If she hadn't said that, why would you have brought items with smallpox into the palace?"
"You bitch!" Yan Zhaqiu roared, veins bulging on her forehead, wishing she could tear Yunxian to pieces.
She looked up at Hailanzhu and said, "So you know her plan perfectly well."
“That’s right.” Hailanzhu readily admitted, “It was she who came to ask me for help, otherwise my Guanju Palace would not have caught fire so easily.” She said it seriously, and there was no way to tell that she was lying.
Large tears rolled down Yan Zhaqiu's face. "You're right. I was so stupid. I had such a deep hatred for her, yet I believed her. My poor Bushu, suffering so much at such a young age. If anything happens to him, I will never let Ulanara Yunxian off the hook!"
She also wanted to bring Hailanzhu into the conversation, since Hailanzhu was in the know, but she didn't dare to say it in front of others, so she could only vent all her anger on Yunxian.
Seeing this, Hailanzhu couldn't help but sneer inwardly: When you tried to harm Atu, why didn't you feel sad? It seems you only feel heartache for your own child.
"Since you already knew about her plot, why didn't you tell me sooner? Are you trying to mock me by telling me now?" Yan Zhaqiu cried out.
Hailanzhu snorted, "When you agreed to Yunxian's plan, do you think I would have told you beforehand? I'm not that kind-hearted to help someone who wants to harm me."
Upon hearing this, Yan Zhaqiurong was speechless, her eyes glazed over, as if her soul had been ripped away.
Looking at the woman before her, Hailanzhu thought to herself: This is reaping what she sowed. If it weren't for the innocent child, I wouldn't have even come.
"Alright, don't be sad here. If you want to save Yebushu's life, I might be able to help you with that." Hailanzhu changed the subject.
Yan Zhaqiu frowned. "What did you say?" She looked up abruptly, incredulous. "You can cure smallpox? How is that possible?"
"Don't make such a fuss," Hailanzhu said calmly, waving her hand.
Yan Zhaqiu still didn't believe it, and gave a bitter smile, "Does Consort Chen really think this concubine is stupid? This concubine has already been with Yunxian once, would she go again?"
Hailanzhu pursed her lips. "It is understandable that you doubt me, but I can prove that what I said is true."
"How can you prove it?" Yan Zhaqiurong asked.
"Isn't Yaotu the best proof of my abilities? As long as I can cure him, it will prove that I wasn't just talking nonsense," Hailanzhu said leisurely.
Yan Zhaqiurong remained silent upon hearing this. After a long while, she raised her eyes and said, "If Consort Chen is truly capable, this concubine is willing to serve you."
Since Yaotu is practically beyond saving, we have no choice but to try anything. If Yaotu really recovers, then Yebushu will also have hope.
"Okay." Hailanzhu replied with satisfaction, then took out a small white porcelain bottle from her bosom and placed it in Yan Zhaqiurong's hand, saying, "This is enough for one person, not a drop less."
This was clearly a message to Yan Zha Qiurong: don't even think about finding the source of the medicine in the medicine itself.
Yan Zhaqiurong didn't say anything. She put the porcelain bottle away and walked to the side, saying no more.
The medicine had been delivered, and Hailanzhu was unwilling to stay any longer. Seeing that there was nothing unusual, she turned to Yan Zhaqiurong and said, "After Yaotu recovers, I hope you can come to Guanju Palace for a visit. You should know that in this world, only I have the medicine to cure smallpox."
She was still worried and added, "I'm telling you this, but you must not let Yunxian know, otherwise..." She deliberately left her sentence unfinished, thinking that Yan Zhaqiu Rong would understand.
"Your Majesty, I understand," Yan Zhaqiu said, bowing respectfully.
Seeing this, Hailanzhu nodded slightly, then turned and left.
Upon returning to Guanju Palace, she saw Huang Taiji pacing back and forth in the main hall with a slightly anxious expression. She understood that he was worried about her.
"Lan'er, how did the fire start out of nowhere?" He walked over and took Hailanzhu's slender white hand, saying, "Quickly, let the imperial physician take a look and see if there are any injuries."
Hearing this, Hailanzhu shook her head: "It's alright. I noticed it when it started smoking, so Your Majesty need not worry." Then she gently stroked her flat stomach and said softly, "Both I and the baby are fine."
Seeing that she was unharmed, Huang Taiji breathed a slight sigh of relief and couldn't help but hug Hailanzhu: "Are you really alright?"
He was very afraid, afraid that Hailanzhu would be hurt again.
"Of course I'm fine, it's just that..." Hailanzhu hesitated, unable to finish her sentence.
Upon seeing this, Huang Taiji immediately said, "Lan'er, speak your mind."
Hailanzhu looked up at him with teary eyes and asked, "If Your Majesty promises me that I will not be angry after hearing this, is that alright?"
Huang Taiji frowned slightly, but did not avoid Hailanzhu's gaze: "Alright, I can agree to your request."
Hailanzhu nodded: "I suspect that the fire was not caused by the dry weather, but by someone deliberately setting it on fire."
"What?" Huang Taiji was taken aback, his expression changing rapidly: "Does Lan'er know who it is?"
Hailanzhu shook her head slightly, her face pale. "I don't know, but I think it must be a thief, because the ruby bestowed by His Majesty has disappeared."
Upon hearing this, Huang Taiji was filled with barely suppressed anger. After a moment of silence, he roared, "Investigate! Find out immediately who did this!"
He wouldn't give up so easily; he was determined to find the arsonist and vent his anger.
Seeing this, Hailanzhu quickly grabbed his large, warm hand and said, "Your Majesty, you must not act rashly." She paused for a moment and continued, "If we investigate openly, we will inevitably alert the enemy."
Upon hearing her voice, Huang Taiji's anger subsided considerably. "What does Lan'er want?"
She blinked and whispered in Huang Taiji's ear.
Huang Taiji listened attentively, nodding repeatedly.
"In that case, we will do as you say." Huang Taiji held Hailanzhu's soft, boneless little hands tightly, his eyes filled with deep affection and doting.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Hailanzhu smiled sweetly, her cheeks flushed, making her look as lovely as a delicate flower.
Huang Taiji bent down and embraced her, "It's a pity he got to enjoy himself for a few more days."
"It's alright." Hailanzhu raised her eyes, her moist eyes gazing into the distance.
This time, she was determined to make Yunxian lose all hope of a comeback.
