Chapter 51 Forcing Yunxian to Make an Oath

“You know best!” Yunxian retorted without hesitation. “This doll is clearly your doing, and I have loved the Emperor since I was a child. I would never harm the Emperor!”

Suddenly, a cold female voice rang out from the doorway, "When the deposed concubine said such words, wasn't she afraid of divine retribution!"

Hailanzhu looked over upon hearing the voice and saw that the person who had arrived was none other than the most important witness of the day.

"Yan Zha Qiurong, what are you doing here?" Yunxian roared. She thought Yan Zha Qiurong was here to expose her for harming Atu, but she wasn't afraid at all, after all, this wooden horse came from Yan Zha's residence.

"I've come here to prove just how wicked you are!" Yan Zhaqiu suppressed his hatred and walked step by step beside Yunxian.

"May Your Majesty enjoy boundless blessings and peace." Yan Zhaqiu bowed. As long as Huang Taiji was present, no matter how chaotic the situation, she would never lose her manners.

"No need for formalities." Huang Taiji waved his hand. "Tell me everything you know."

"Yes." Yan Zhaqiurong raised her head and looked at the face in front of her that she loved to the core.

“There are still few princes in the palace, and most of them are still young. Only Haoge is an adult. The deposed concubine is doing this so that the emperor will die and her son can become emperor.” Yan Zhaqiu said. These were not things that Hailanzhu taught her, but rather things she did on the spot. She was determined to put Yunxian to death, otherwise her child would be in danger again.

"Haoge is no longer a candidate for crown prince, as I have already said."

“So what? With the Ulanara clan around, the throne will be easy to obtain.” Yan Zhaqingqiurong followed up on Huang Taiji’s words.

"Nonsense, Yan Zha Qiu Rong, don't forget that the wooden horse was yours..." Yun Xian still wanted to use this matter to blackmail him.

"Hehe!" Yan Zhaqiu interrupted Yunxian with a cold laugh. The mention of the wooden horse ignited endless anger in her heart. "What do you want to say? I am not afraid at all. But you, are you not afraid that when you are in the middle of the night, will the Empress Dowager Niohuru and her son come to take your life?"

"you…"

Before Yunxian could refute, Yan Zhaqiurong knelt down and said to Huang Taiji, "Your Majesty, I was wrong. I failed to inform you of the cause of death of the Grand Princess in time."

"Didn't she die because of her weak health and the early death of her child, and because she was depressed and unhappy?" Huang Taiji quickly stood up and asked. He was also shocked to hear this.

Yan Zhaqiu shook her head. "It was Yunxian who buried the poison in the backyard of the Grand Princess, allowing the Grand Princess and her son to accumulate the poison until it reached a certain amount, at which point they died from the poison."

So she's just like Hailanzhu; no wonder she believed Hailanzhu's words.

"How did you know that you didn't enter the mansion back then?" Huang Taiji questioned.

Yan Zhaqiu smiled bitterly, “My personal maid, Wen Yuan, had an older sister who served the Grand Consort. When she was burying a dead kitten, she accidentally dug up some poison buried underground. When Yunxian found out that the soil was loose, she immediately sent people to investigate. They found out that it was Wen Yuan’s sister who did it, so she killed her without hesitation.”

She paused, then said, "Fortunately, Heaven had mercy, and by chance, these things were overheard by the young Wen Yuan, who was hiding under the bed. Otherwise, the Grand Princess Consort would have died without knowing why."

Upon hearing this, Yunxian trembled with anger. "These are just your and your servant's side of the story. Without evidence, no one will believe you."

Hearing this, Yan Zhaqingcheng couldn't help but laugh. "Corpses can talk. If you have the guts, come to my cemetery and I'll let you see if the Great Princess's bones are black."

"You want to exhume the body for an autopsy?" Yunxian was taken aback, then sneered, "That's wishful thinking. Do you think the Emperor would agree?"

"How could I not agree to this for the sake of the First Princess's injustice!"

After they finished speaking, the two stared intently at Huang Taiji. Yunxian was also gambling; she was betting on the youthful affection between Huang Taiji and Niu Lu.

Hailanzhu understood Huang Taiji's dilemma. After all, Niu Lu was his principal wife and his first woman. Although they had only known each other for a short time, she died when Huang Taiji was at the age when he valued affection the most, so he still had feelings for her in his heart.

Huang Taiji was naturally reluctant to disturb her peace, but he also didn't want her to die an unexplained death.

For a moment, the hall was eerily quiet; everyone held their breath, waiting for Huang Taiji to speak.

After spending this time together, Hailanzhu couldn't bear to put him in such a dilemma, so she broke the silence and choked up with tears.

If someone else had cried when Huang Taiji was at his most agitated, he would have been furious. But at this moment, he only felt heartache.

He raised his hand and patted Hailanzhu's back, asking softly, "Lan'er, what's wrong? Why are you crying for no reason? Did the coffin opening and autopsy scare you?"

That soft, gentle tone made Yan Zhaqiu's eyes flash with jealousy.

Hailanzhu wiped away her tears, "I am so afraid, but not of opening the coffin and examining the body, but of someone using the same method to harm me."

"What?" Huang Taiji clenched his fists, a surge of anger rising to his head.

Hailanzhu continued to sob, wiping away her tears as she instructed Qingluan to bring over the wooden box from two months ago and to summon the imperial physician from that day to testify.

"Insolence!" Huang Taiji slammed his hand on the table, startling the eunuchs and palace maids into kneeling down.

After saying that, Huang Taiji stood up and walked to the center of the hall, coldly scanning Yunxian with his gaze, "You did it too, didn't you?"

Yunxian was sweating profusely, but she still stubbornly insisted, "Your Majesty...I knew nothing about it." She never expected that Hailanzhu had already discovered this matter. She had thought she had her last trump card.

"Unaware?" Huang Taiji sneered. "You should know that this Sleeping Fire Lotus was found by Ulanarakdo, but did he put poison in the flowerpot?"

“No…” Yunxian shook her head vigorously. “So many people have come into contact with the Sleeping Fire Lotus, how can you say it’s Keduo? Maybe Hailanzhu deliberately released poison to frame me.”

Even at this point, Yunxian remained unrepentant. Hailanzhu, suppressing her anger, pitifully said, "How...how could you speak of me like that?" She paused, then added, "You are nothing but a deposed concubine. What good would it do me to frame you?"

"this…"

Without allowing Yunxian to explain, Hailanzhu continued, "I swear to heaven that if this poison was deliberately placed by me to frame you, I will die without a burial place, and the men of the Borjigit clan will die on the battlefield, and the women will be enslaved or forced into prostitution."

This oath was so cruel that even Huang Taiji couldn't bear to hear it and quickly interrupted, saying, "Lan'er, why are you doing this? I believe you."

Hailanzhu said calmly, "I am not afraid of anything, no matter how poisonous, that I have never done."

After saying that, she said to Yunxian again: "Do you dare? Swear on your Hauge and your Ulanara clan? If you conceal your sins, you and your Hauge will die without a burial place, the men of your Ulanara clan will die on the battlefield, and the women will be enslaved or prostitutes. Moreover, they will all go to the eighteenth level of hell after death and never be reincarnated."
