Chapter 7 Da Yu'er is framed

Watching the little eunuch's departing figure, the corners of her mouth turned up slightly. "The show is about to begin. I can't wait."

A moment later, a series of hurried footsteps sounded, and then Hui Ge arrived with Na Mu Zhong, looking travel-worn.

As soon as Namuzhong entered, she asked, "Sister, have you spoken to the Emperor?"

Hailanzhu did not answer her question, but instead said to Huige, "You can go down now!"

Hui Ge paused for a moment, then slightly raised his eyes to look at Na Mu Zhong. Seeing Na Mu Zhong nod, he then took his leave.

They thought Hailanzhu was unaware, but little did they know that Hailanzhu had already taken note of this phenomenon and had already decided in her heart that Huige was also Namuzhong's person.

The most important point is that when Namuzhong framed Dayuer, Huige was not even there. How could Huige know about this and even want to avenge Hailanzhu?

The reason is self-evident…

So she deliberately let Namuzhong rest for a while, and after a cup of tea was finished, she estimated that Huang Taiji would arrive soon, and then asked in return: "Did you really witness Bumbutai standing by when I fell into the water?"

"Sister, I've told you at least three times already, why are you still asking like this?" Namuzhong's tone was impatient.

At that moment, a deep male voice rang out: "What could possibly make Lan'er ask three times?"

The two looked over at the sound and heard a deep male voice—it was Huang Taiji.

Upon seeing this, Namuzhong immediately bowed and said, "May Your Majesty enjoy boundless blessings and peace."

Hailanzhu glanced at her coldly, thinking to herself: So she does know how to bow, but it depends on the person!

Then, she followed Namuzhong's example and was about to curtsy when Huang Taiji stopped her, saying, "Lan'er, you don't need to curtsy."

"Thank you, Your Majesty."

The two were being all lovey-dovey, completely ignoring Namuzhong, who was still half-squatting.

It was only after Hailanzhu reminded him that Huang Taiji calmly said to Namuzhong, "No need for formalities."

Namuzhong was finally free, but her resentment towards Hailanzhu was renewed. If it weren't for Hailanzhu, how could she not have received Huang Taiji's attention with her looks?

"By the way, what were you talking about just now?" Huang Taiji asked, getting back to the main topic.

"Your Majesty, we were talking about..." Namuzhong tried to change the subject to divert Huang Taiji's attention, but Hailanzhu choked up and cried.

This crying broke Huang Taiji's heart, and he quickly asked with concern, "Lan'er, what's wrong?"

Hailanzhu wiped away her tears. "Your Majesty, my sister said that when I fell into the water, Yu'er was by my side. I found it unbelievable, so I checked again and again to see if it was true."

"What?!" Upon hearing this, Huang Taiji was instantly enraged. He slammed his fist on the table and demanded of Namuzhong, "Tell me properly, what exactly happened?"

Namuzhong never expected Hailanzhu to bring this up at this time, and couldn't help but curse her as a fool.

Little did she know that this was Hailanzhu's doing; she had no intention of becoming a knife in Namuzhong's hand, foolishly slashing at Dayuer.

Namuzhong suppressed her anger and calmly said to Huang Taiji, "When I heard my sister calling for help, I rushed over, but I inadvertently saw Consort Zhuang hiding in a corner, watching my sister struggle in the water, but still ignoring her, and even... revealing a cold smile."

"Is that so?" A cold glint flashed in Huang Taiji's eyes upon hearing her words.

If these words had come from Hailanzhu, Huang Taiji would not have questioned them, since she was the victim. But since they came from Namuzhong, he was somewhat puzzled. Intrigue and framing were common in the palace, so how could he not know about it?

"Your Majesty, I dare not speak presumptuously." Namuzhong dared not look up at his expression and could only lower her head.

"Is that so? Then do you have any evidence?" Huang Taiji's fingers gently traced her delicate face.

The emperor's imposing presence, though not angry, sent chills down Namuzhong's spine, making her tremble uncontrollably. "Yes... Jill, who was by Consort Zhuang's side, also witnessed all of this, because she was not far from me at the time."

Huang Taiji now believed Namuzhong's words. His eyes narrowed, and a murderous aura flashed from his eyes. "Summon Bumbutai and his servant Jir here!"

"Yes." The guard acknowledged the order and quickly withdrew.

A short while later, the two were brought up.

Da Yu'er knelt down and bowed, looking at the people in the hall with a puzzled expression, and asked, "Your Majesty, why did you summon me here in such a hurry? Is there something important that you need to discuss?"

Huang Taiji did not tell her to get up, and said with a gloomy face, "You still have the nerve to ask me? Look at what good things you've done?"

Da Yu'er was puzzled. "Your Majesty, I am foolish and do not know what this is about?" She looked at Huang Taiji with innocent eyes, her eyes full of doubt.

"You're still pretending!" Huang Taiji snorted coldly and threw the things on the table to the ground.

"Your Majesty, please calm down," Hailanzhu quickly stepped forward to comfort him, and then told Dayuer what had happened.

However, upon hearing this, Da Yu'er did not explain to Huang Taiji, but instead tugged at Hailanzhu's sleeve and said, "Sister, you must believe me, I have no reason to harm you."

Before Hailanzhu could even utter the words that she believed Dayuer, she heard Huang Taiji roar at Dayuer, "Shut up!"

He continued, trembling, "Since Lan'er entered the palace, I've never seen you give her a kind look. She's your sister, so why can't you tolerate her? You've hurt her time and time again. You're a vicious woman!"

Dayuer looked at Huang Taiji with disappointment, "So this is the kind of person I am in your heart?"

"Isn't that so?" Huang Taiji retorted.

"Heh!" Da Yu'er laughed coldly, "After eleven years of sharing a bed, this is how you think of me? You've never trusted me."
