Chapter 85: There's plenty of time, a little teasing won't hurt.

"Sister, is there anything else you're worried about?" Yu Yan finally couldn't help but ask.

Wan'er nodded vigorously, looking quite troubled.

Yu Yan thought Wan'er was afraid of Agge, so she quickly said, "Sister, you are a virtuous consort. Teaching a concubine a lesson is just a piece of cake! Don't worry, even if you really beat her to death, no one will dare to say anything!"

Upon hearing this, Wan'er clenched her fist, feeling as if she were being pushed into a fire pit. It was just a few slaps, yet she was being asked to take someone's life. A fierce glint flashed in her eyes, but she slowly loosened her grip in the end.

Yu Yan didn't realize what was going on and thought Wan'er had listened to her. She tugged at her sleeve and said, "Sister, let's go quickly, or the Emperor will be here soon."

"I..." Wan'er hesitated for a moment, then suddenly gritted her teeth and said, "Fine! I'll go and teach the concubine a lesson!"

Anyway, there's plenty of time, so it won't hurt to tease them a little.

Upon seeing this, Yu Yan happily pulled Wan'er outside.

Wan'er was pulled to the door, where she suddenly stopped. Yu Yan turned her head in confusion.

Wan'er turned around, her gaze fixed intently on Yu Yan, and said, "But this is not a long-term solution. Even if I teach this concubine a lesson today, there will be another concubine to bully you."

Yu Yan was taken aback for a moment, then quickly understood. This foolish Wan'er was truly afraid of being wronged, and a mocking thought welled up within her. "Then what does elder sister wish to do?"

Wan'er rolled her bright eyes, which were as bright as the stars in the sky, and said, "The best way is to make you a concubine, and with a higher rank than them. That way, they won't dare to bully you."

"What? You... want me to become the Emperor's concubine, and with a rank higher than theirs?" Yu Yan's voice rose several octaves, her face filled with disbelief.

You see, she had hinted at it many times before, but Wan'er pretended not to hear and talked about other things, which led her to decide to kill her. In her opinion, they were both young ladies from the Dong'e family, so why was Wan'er the mistress and she the maid? She was too resentful.

Wan'er naturally knew the joy in her heart, and deliberately said, "What, are you unwilling? If you are unwilling, I will not force you."

"Of course not, I'm willing, how could I not be!" Yu Yan excitedly grabbed Wan'er's arm. How could she miss this opportunity? "But sister, will the Emperor agree to this?"

Wan'er smiled slightly, "It all depends on whether you're willing to let go of your shame."

"What sense of shame?" Yu Yan pretended not to understand, but she already knew the answer in her heart.

Wan'er patiently explained, "First he will be favored, then he will be made a concubine. As long as the news of the Emperor's favoring you spreads throughout the six palaces, the Emperor and the Empress Dowager, no matter how unwilling they are, will have no choice but to make you a concubine."

Upon hearing this, Yu Yan's smile grew even wider. How could she possibly miss such a good opportunity? What did shame matter? She was willing to give anything to become a mistress and no longer be a lowly and despicable servant.

"Then what does Sister want to do?" Yu Yan asked softly, her smile stretching almost to her ears.

“It’s very simple…” she whispered in Yu Yan’s ear, speaking in a voice only she could hear.

"Very good." Yu Yan nodded in satisfaction, her eyes shining with a proud light, as if she could see the bright days to come.

"But..." Wan'er hesitated.

Yu Yan's reverie was interrupted by Wan'er's voice, and her face immediately fell. "But what? Does Sister want to back out?"

“No…” Wan’er shook her head, “I don’t have that kind of medicine…”

So that's what I was worried about. Yu Yan breathed a sigh of relief, and her tone softened considerably. "Don't worry, I'll figure something out. You can just proceed according to plan, sister."

That's true. If a mother has this kind of medicine, how could her daughter Yu Yan not have it?

Wan'er had anticipated this.

"Alright!" Wan'er's eyes narrowed slightly, and in the darkness, a pleasant smile appeared on her lips. She then asked, "When do you want to implement this?"

"Of course, the sooner the better, to avoid any unforeseen complications!" Yu Yan was trembling all over. "Tonight would be the best time."

"Very well, I'll go prepare right away..."

The night was as dark and silent as ink, and the entire land was shrouded in boundless darkness.

Wan'er, using the excuse of not being able to sleep, took Qi Lan and left the palace. She looked around and then headed towards Yongfu Palace, where Jing'er lived.

The lights in Yongfu Palace were still on, signaling Qi Lan to stay. She stepped forward and gently knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" came Jing'er's puzzled voice from inside the door.

"Your Majesty, it is I, the concubine," she replied softly, lowering her voice.

Upon hearing this, Jing'er quickly opened the door a crack and let Wan'er into the room.

Wan'er looked around, not directly stating her purpose, but asked with a puzzled expression, "As the Empress, how come you don't even have a single servant?"

Jing'er replied nonchalantly, "I have hands and feet, why would I need someone to serve me?"

Her straightforwardness deepened Wan'er's fondness for her, "What she said makes some sense."

"Alright." Jing'er waved her hand. "Tell me, why aren't you keeping the Emperor company this late? What are you doing in my palace?"

Wan'er pursed her lips and smiled, "I want you to go see a good show."

"Oh." Jing'er raised an eyebrow. "How could I miss such a good show?"

"Alright, but please be patient and wait for an hour. If you come too early, the show won't be as good." Wan'er's lips curled slightly, revealing a mysterious smile.

"Can you tell me in advance what kind of show it is?" Upon hearing that she would have to wait, Jing'er couldn't wait to find out.

"You'll find out soon enough." Wan'er didn't intend to tell Jing'er too much, after all, now wasn't the best time.

"Hmph!" Jing'er pouted, but still waited patiently, enjoying tea and chatting with Wan'er.

Wan'er also took this opportunity to tell Jing'er about A'ge and warn her to be careful of him.

Jing'er listened attentively and accepted her advice.
