Chapter 143 Ordering a Siege

How could Chen Fei not notice his little tricks? He snorted in his heart, rushed to Haredun in one step, and quickly clamped the man with his hands and pushed him to his subordinates.

"Watch closely!"

Haledun was held captive, his face still a bit bewildered. When he came to his senses, his heart was suddenly filled with panic, and he shouted,

"What are you doing? I'm an official appointed by the imperial court! You'll lose your head if you detain an official appointed by the imperial court without permission!"

Chen Fei turned a deaf ear to him, took out a golden order from his pocket, and said to the captains in the room,

"Prince Jin's order is here. The city defense is temporarily under our command. Anyone who dares to disobey will be killed on the spot."

As soon as these words were spoken, several captains came to their senses. They looked at Haredun, then at Chen Fei who was holding the prince's golden order, and nodded like chickens pecking at rice.

Seeing this, Chen Fei finally felt a little relieved.

If he had not been careful and slipped a piece of silver to clear the way, and followed the messenger to the gate tower, he would not have heard that this stupid captain wanted to send a message to the commander-in-chief of the garrison.

If he really succeeds, then His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's deployment today will become a joke.

In order to prevent spies from being found among the city defense forces, Chen Fei did not interfere with the operation of the city defense. He simply asked one of the captains to gather the soldiers who had seen them to the gate tower.

His caution was of great use.

There were indeed two guys among the soldiers guarding the city who tried every means to get out of the gate. Chen Fei did not tolerate them. After two slashes of his sword, all the rest of the people became obedient.

Even Haledun didn't dare to have any more evil thoughts.
