"In that case, this girl cannot be kept." Yehe's face was like a lotus submerged in icy water, beautiful yet carrying a chilling aura.
“But if Peach Blossom dies here, it will probably still arouse their suspicion,” Yuhen said.
“We can let her die out there. She’s always wanted to run away; who knows what might happen to her. And the weather’s bad; it looks like it’s going to snow,” Yehe said thoughtfully.
Yuhen was in a dilemma. She had never killed anyone before, but she was the only one who knew about this. Was she supposed to let Yehe Clan do it themselves? Just thinking about it made her realize that it was impossible!
"Princess, this servant... this servant has never killed anyone before. Let you think of another way." Yuhen was, after all, just a teenage girl, and her mind wasn't that ruthless. Asking her to kill someone was simply beyond her capacity to bear.
"Then what do you suggest we do? This wretched woman seems to be a spy that the Nian family deliberately planted here. It's all because you were careless and let her get hold of something." Yehe Shi was born into a large family and had been served by servants since childhood. She was used to the punishment of those who were incompetent or disloyal, so she really didn't care about Tao Hua's life or death. She only felt that Tao Hua had come to harm her from the beginning and deserved to die, so killing Tao Hua was a matter of course, and she didn't feel uncomfortable at all.
Yuhen knew that she had to bear this responsibility herself. If she didn't hold the Peach Blossom Ceremony now, then she and her servant would be the ones to suffer next.
"Princess, I'll go out now and buy some sleeping potion to knock her out," Yuhen said.
“No, Zhao Quan said that someone is already investigating you. If you go out now, it will probably arouse too much suspicion. It would be better to tie her up and cover her with a blanket,” Yehe said.
Yuhen knew she couldn't refuse, but she really couldn't bring herself to do something like killing someone.
Seeing Yuhen's hesitant manner, Yehe knew she was too afraid, so she frowned and said, "If you don't want to die, you'd better hurry up and deal with it."
Yuhen nodded, and said with difficulty, "Princess, I definitely can't restrain her by myself. I need to find someone to help. I can only tell Yulu, because I can't rely on anyone else here. Princess, I can only tell Yulu and ask her to help me. Also, Princess may need to go and help as well, otherwise I might not be able to control her."
You can't do this kind of murder alone; you have to get someone else involved. Besides, Yuhen is just a young girl, and Taohua isn't any shorter than her. Killing her might not be easy.
"Alright, I'll go with you to deal with it. Yu Lu is timid and has a big mouth. Talking to her won't do much good; we'll just have to cover her mouth instead," said Ye He Shi.
The mistress and servant had devised a plan. First, Yuhen would carry the food inside to distract Taohua, and then the two of them would work together to subdue her. Yuhen first found a body and a handkerchief and handed them to Yehe. Then she went out and prepared a portion of the unfinished lunch, placing it in a food box.
As soon as the master and servant stepped out of the main room, two maids who had been transferred from the head nanny's side came to greet them.
"This servant, He Xiang, greets Your Highness!"
"This servant, Qiuyue, greets Your Highness!"
The two women stepped forward to pay their respects to Yehe Shi. They had both been instructed by Hehua to do some chores outside the house and were not often able to be around Yehe Shi.
"Hmm. There's some dust on some things in my room. You two can go and wipe them now. I'll take Yuhen's hand and go for a walk. When we come back, I hope the room will be clean and dust-free," Yehe said leisurely.
He Xiang immediately curtsied and said, "Yes, this servant will go and fetch water to wipe it." Qiu Yue also curtsied.
Yehe then took Yuhen's hand and headed towards the direction where Taohua lived, which was directly opposite the side gate of the North Courtyard.
After the Yehe clan members turned the corner, Qiuyue asked, "She wants to go out for a walk, why is she going that way?"
He Xiang nudged Qiu Yue's arm and said, "Let's get back to work. The master told us to keep an eye on things. Let's go inside and keep watch."
The two exchanged a glance and then went to prepare to fetch water to wipe the furniture in Yehe's house.
Meanwhile, Yuhen, supporting Yehe's hand, walked towards the room where Taohua was staying.
"Master, why did you let them into the house?" Yuhen asked, supporting Yehe's hand.
“If we don’t let them into the house, I’m afraid they’ll become annoying and always want to show up near me. Right now, we need to focus on dealing with Peach Blossom and can’t worry about the other two,” said Yehe.
Yuhen nodded and soon arrived at the door of the Peach Blossom House. Yuhen had already sent Hehua out to do chores, so there was naturally no one around at this time.
Yuhen released Yehe's arm, took out a key from his pocket, and went to unlock the lock hanging on the door. In order to keep Taohua in the house, Yuhen had Yulu lock the door, and all the windows were also locked to prevent her from escaping again.
The door opened, revealing a pitch-black room. Yehe and Yuhen quickly went inside and shut the door behind them. They saw Taohua lying on the bed; she hadn't eaten since the previous night and was likely too weak from hunger.
Yuhen secretly rejoiced, thinking that she would be able to expend less effort later. She quickly walked to Taohua's bedside and looked at her, only to find that Taohua was already asleep.
"What, asleep?" Yehe stood on Yuhen's back and took out the rope hidden inside her skirt.
"Princess, give me the rope," Yuhen said tremulously.
Yehe handed the rope to Yuhen, and the two of them tiptoed onto the footboard. They saw that Taohua was sleeping soundly.
The two gently lifted the blanket draped over Peach Blossom's feet, and then Yuhen began to carefully tie Peach Blossom's feet with a rope. She entered without using force, so as not to wake Peach Blossom.
It took Yuhen half a day to tie Taohua's legs. During that time, Taohua only turned over but didn't wake up. She probably never expected that the Yehe clan would come to take her life.
"Princess, please hold her hand still for now. I'll pull this hand out; she might wake up soon." Yuhen lifted the quilt from the peach blossom bed and threw it off the bed.
Yehe nodded, and together with Taohua, they took Taohua's hand. The two of them calmly gathered Taohua's hand in front of them, and then Yuhen began to wrap another rope around her hand in circles.
Perhaps because she hadn't eaten for most of the day, Peach Blossom was sleeping very soundly and didn't wake up at all.
Seeing that Tao Hua's hands and feet were even tied up, Ye He said to Yu Hen, "Quickly cover her face with this quilt, and I will hold down her feet."
