Chapter 1196 Breaking in

When Su Peisheng arrived with palace servants carrying water, he saw an unfamiliar maidservant guarding the entrance to the side hall.

"Who are you?" Su Peisheng walked up to Cuiyun and asked.

"Eunuch Su, she is Miss Su's maid," said the palace maid behind Su Peisheng. "Cuiyun, what are you doing here?"

"I... our lady is inside!" Cuiyun said, blushing. You see, her lady had sneaked into a man's bedroom in the dead of night—an act that would be astonishing even by today's standards.

Upon hearing this and looking at Cuiyun's expression, Su Peisheng immediately understood. The palace maids behind him, seeing this, all changed color slightly, already gossiping about this Consort De's niece.

"Master hasn't washed up yet. I don't care who's inside, I'm going in to serve him," Eunuch Su suddenly said. His plan was to force his way in and disturb Lady Wuya. Even if he was punished by the Fourth Prince, he wouldn't regret it. Consort Niu was incredibly good to him; if she knew that Lady Wuya had come to the master's place, she would be furious!

“No, the Fourth Prince and my wife are inside. How dare you barge in?” Cuiyun spread her arms, blocking Su Peisheng’s way.

"Hehe, what you're saying is really funny. So what if your wife is inside? Can't I go in and serve her?" Su Peisheng pretended not to understand Cuiyun's words.

"Is your wife inside talking to the Fourth Prince?" the palace maid behind her asked.

Cuiyun, straining her neck, said, "You servants, how dare you be so disrespectful to our lady! Our lady is the niece of Consort De, and you are nothing but servants, what are you shouting about here? Get out of here at once!"

Su Peisheng had never been reprimanded like this before, but the other palace maids were intimidated by her words and dared not say another word.

“The Prince sent me to fetch water to serve him. Now that his wife is inside, it’s alright. I’ll go in and serve him without interrupting their conversation. Please move aside!” Su Peisheng forced his way past Cuiyun.

Seeing this, the palace maids simply followed Su Peisheng inside. Cuiyu hurriedly tried to stop Su Peisheng, but she couldn't.

Several people pulled him into the side hall, only to find that the doors and windows of the room where the Fourth Master slept were tightly closed. Su Peisheng quickly shouted, "Master, this servant has brought water!"

Inside, both the Fourth Prince and Lady Wuya were asleep in bed. The Fourth Prince was already asleep, and Lady Wuya, with her fair shoulders exposed, lay on her side next to him.

"Master, your servant has brought the water." Ignoring Cuiyu's tugging, Su Peisheng walked to the door and knocked on it.

Silence remained. Su Peisheng grew even more anxious, his heart sinking as he wondered what was happening inside the room. If the Fourth Master was truly sharing a room with that Wuya woman, things were already getting complicated.

"Come in!" A clear, crisp female voice came from inside the room; it was Wu Yawanru's voice.

Startled, Su Peisheng had no choice but to push open the door. He stepped into the room and saw Wu Yawan sitting upright on the edge of the bed, dressed only in a white undergarment. Shortly after, Cuiyun and several palace maids carrying water also entered.

"What's wrong, Master?" Su Peisheng hurriedly stepped forward and asked.

“He was just drunk, that’s why…” Uya blushed, the unspoken words leaving much to the imagination.

Su Peisheng and the others were eunuchs, but seeing Wuya's behavior, they felt great disgust and said coldly, "I don't know how Miss Wuya came to our master's room. I just went to fetch some hot water."

Uya was slightly surprised that Su Peisheng dared to speak to her like that, but she still tried to remain calm and said, "I heard that my cousin returned from the palace banquet drunk and couldn't bear it, so I prepared some hangover soup for him. Who knew he would actually..."

"Madam, let me help you change your clothes." Cuiyun stepped forward, took Wuya's clothes, and prepared to help her put them on.

After she finished dressing, Su Peisheng said, "Please wait and leave, Miss. This servant needs to help the master wash up."

"Eunuch Su, after my cousin wakes up, don't say anything to him. Just pretend I was never here." Uya said softly, and before Su Peisheng could reply, she pulled Cuiyun away.

Su Peisheng had no choice but to wait until the master woke up first. Meanwhile, Lady Wuya and Cuiyun made their way to Consort De's bedchamber.

"Madam, shall we go see Her Majesty now?" Cuiyun asked.

“Of course, please let us leave immediately, Aunt!” said Uya.

"Why?" Cuiyun asked, puzzled.

“Once my cousin wakes up and remembers what happened, I wonder what he’ll think. Plus, that servant Su Peisheng is adding fuel to the fire; all our plans will be for nothing,” said Madam Wuya. She was worried that when the Fourth Prince woke up and remembered that she had gone there first, he would think she had intentionally seduced him. In fact, what she did tonight was quite inappropriate. Although she and the Fourth Prince were cousins, they were still alone; she shouldn’t have gone to a man’s room alone.

"So, when Madam went to see Consort De, was it to ask her to stand up for Madam?" Cuiyun asked.

“No, I’m going to say goodbye. Why don’t we leave the palace tonight?” Uya said with a light smile.

"Madam, why are you doing this?" Cuiyun completely failed to understand Wuya's thoughts.

“My dear aunt surely understands this. I can only retreat to advance, otherwise they will think I did it willingly, and my reputation in my cousin's eyes will plummet. So I can only take a gamble, betting that he hasn't forgotten me, betting that he will forgive me for tonight,” said Uya.

When Lady Wuya and her servants arrived at the entrance of Consort De's palace, they spoke with the palace maids guarding the gate and waited for Consort De to summon them in.

"Why are you still up so late?" Consort De saw that it was Uya Wan who wanted to see her, so she naturally let her in.

Thump!

Wu Ya Wanru knelt down abruptly, prostrating herself on the ground, and said, "Wanru has come to bid farewell to her aunt. Wanru hopes that her aunt will send her out of the palace tonight. Wanru is afraid that she will not have the opportunity to come in again to fulfill her filial duties to her aunt."

Consort De was startled by her sudden action, but quickly recovered and said to Zheng Jing, "What's wrong with you? Get up and we'll talk about it!"

"Aunt, Wanru, Wanru has no face to face you. Please, Aunt, send someone to escort Wanru out of the palace immediately," said Wuya, her voice choked with emotion.

"Cuiyun, what's wrong with your mistress? Tell me quickly!" Seeing Wuya's state, Consort De knew that something serious must have happened, and immediately asked Cuiyun behind Wuya in a stern voice.
