"You're here to see the master too?" Cui Ling asked in surprise.
"Could it be that Sister is also here to see the Master?" Cuiyun asked. The two looked at each other, and the atmosphere suddenly became a little awkward. It was obvious that both Wuya and Nian were trying to seduce the Master.
When Granny Wang opened the gate to the courtyard, she was surprised to see two maids with names starting with "Cui" standing together at the door.
"What are you all doing here?" Granny Wang immediately changed her tone, blocking the doorway and asking fiercely.
“Our concubine has something she wishes to discuss with the master, but since the master is with Concubine Niu, she had no choice but to send me to ask him,” Cui Ling said first.
"Then what is it you need?" Granny Wang then asked Cuiyun.
“Our princess can’t eat and keeps vomiting. This servant really doesn’t know what to do, so I’ve come to ask for your instructions, Master,” Cuiyun said.
Upon hearing this, Granny Wang sensed that everyone had something to report, and since she couldn't very well not inform them, she said, "You all stand here, I'll go and report to Cui Niang."
Granny Wang only let the two of them stand at the courtyard gate, while she went to Lanqin's main courtyard.
Cui Ling deliberately said, "Oh, so you're just pregnant, yet you keep complaining about not being able to eat. Did you start eating as soon as Master left?"
Seeing Cui Ling's sarcastic tone, Cui Yun rolled her eyes at her and said, "Our princess is indeed delicate, but fortunately, our master still cherishes her. I'm afraid there are some people that our master is too lazy to cherish."
Cui Ling rolled her eyes and said, "It's a pity that some people can't even see their master when they're pregnant. It's ridiculous to use such an excuse to invite him. When our master was pregnant, he would visit her every day."
Cuiyun couldn't continue, so she turned around and ignored Cuiling's sarcasm.
Meanwhile, Cui Niang had already heard Wang Mama's report and was in a dilemma. She really didn't want to disturb Fourth Master, Lanqin, and the children, but if she didn't go in to report what was happening outside, it would surely bring gossip to Lanqin, who would say that she was deliberately preventing them from going in and monopolizing Fourth Master.
After thinking for a moment, Cui Niang went inside. She saw that the Fourth Prince was playing a horse-riding game with Hongli. Hongli's legs were straddling the Fourth Prince's neck.
"Father, Father, go for it!" Ushiha was sitting on the main couch with Lanqin, watching the Fourth Prince carry Hongli in a race against Bechuk in the room.
Looking at the ground again, I don't know what Lanqin used to draw some circles, but there were also some strange characters and circles on it.
"Master is going to lose to Bechuk!" Lanqin shouted after Wuxiha. It turned out that Lanqin had drawn a small softball chessboard in her main room using lime as "chalk." She had ordered the Fourth Master to play with Bechuk behind Hongli's back.
Looking at the family, Cui Niang couldn't bear to tell Lan Qin. She stood at the door, watching them play. Lan Qin had already noticed Cui Niang's expression when she came in; she knew something must have happened, otherwise she wouldn't have come in.
"Cui Niang, is there anything I can help you with?" Lan Qin beckoned to Cui Niang and asked her.
"Oh dear, nothing can be hidden from your mistress. There are some things happening outside again. I really didn't want to bother you," said Cui Niang. After saying that, she whispered in Lanqin's ear about the two maids, Cui, who had come to visit.
After hearing this, Lanqin's face turned cold. She knew that both sides wanted to lure the Fourth Master away from her, but they were using high-sounding reasons, as if she couldn't refuse.
Lanqin waved to Cui Niang, then turned back to watch Fourth Master playing with the two children.
"Mother, what did that old nanny say to you just now?" Wuxiha asked.
"It's nothing. You're just a little kid, you shouldn't eavesdrop on your mother," Lanqin comforted her eldest daughter.
Ushiha nodded as if he had a plan, and then continued to look at Fourth Master and Bechuk.
"Hongli, let your father rest for a while. Hongli!" Lanqin called out.
"It's alright, they're just kids, how heavy can they be? But I'm worried that Chuke might get tired of playing," Fourth Master said.
“Alright then, Father, let’s take a rest,” said Bechuk. The little girl was almost three years old today, looked a lot like Lanqin, and had quite a sharp tongue.
After the Fourth Prince stopped, he had the maids carry Hongli, who was laughing so hard, away. Then, Wuxiha and Bechuk quickly followed their wet nurse back to their own rooms to sleep.
“Master, the maids from Nian’s side and Wuya’s side are standing at the door. One of them said that Nian has something to report to you, and the other said that their mistress still has no appetite and can’t eat.” Lanqin told the truth.
Fourth Master was already sweating from running. He had been thinking of inviting Lanqin to take a bath together, which would have been nice, but he didn't expect there to be someone waiting for him outside.
"What's wrong with the Nian family? Let Doctor Lin take a look at the Wuya family as well," Lanqin said.
"Yes, Master, aren't you going to go and take a look?" Lanqin asked. But as soon as she asked, she regretted it.
“My going there won’t do any good. It’s better to leave him with the doctor,” said Fourth Master.
"Does Consort Nian feel that she is not up to the task, or is there some other reason?" Lanqin asked at the opportune moment.
"What could be so important? Tell her maid to go back," said the Fourth Master.
Upon hearing this, Lanqin smiled and stood up from the main couch. She then led Fourth Master to her sleeping quarters, preparing to go to bed.
Meanwhile, Cui Niang herself came out of the main room and said to the two young ladies, "The master wants you to go back. You can report anything tomorrow."
“My lord, Princess Wuya has a poor appetite and asked me for a separate stove and a cook. I did not agree.” Lanqin looked at the Fourth Prince and said, “The cooks in our manor are not very skilled. If we give one to Princess Wuya, I’m afraid there will be problems in other areas.”
Anyone can put on a show! Besides, what I said is the truth, I didn't exaggerate.
"Just let her order. Why bother with separate kitchens and waiters?" Fourth Master said. This was clearly a decision made to support Lanqin.
"I'm afraid it will affect Princess Wuya's appetite, and then she'll have to complain to you again," Lanqin said.
"No, a princess's allowance doesn't include the right to order food, let alone have her own stove and cook," Fourth Master said.
"My lord, Lady Wuya's appetite is getting worse and worse. What should we do? I'm afraid she'll blame me later," Lanqin said aggrievedly.
"No, Wuya has always been gentle and mild-mannered. She wouldn't be so insensible."
