Chapter 1489 A Poisonous Scheme

Liu looked at Wuya and stared at the cup of tea in front of her, saying, "Actually, you can drink it. The appetite-stimulating powder wasn't put directly into your drinking water, but into the tonics you're drinking."

Uya frowned and said, "No wonder my appetite is getting better and better. It turns out it's all because of those tonics in the water. I was wondering why Cuiyun and Zhuier didn't gain weight, since they also drank water!"

Liu looked at Wuya with a hint of sympathy and said, "It's not too late for you to know now, sister. As long as you start to restrain yourself now, it's not impossible to reduce it a little."

Uya's gaze swept over Liu several times before she finally said, "How can we connect these things with Niohuru? There are so many people in the kitchen; anyone could have tampered with things. And since the master has always trusted her, it won't be easy to frame her."

Liu smiled and said, "That's not a problem. As long as Sister Wuya tells the Master that she found an appetite-stimulating herb in the tonic you drink every day, and then tells the Fourth Master that Niohuru is always threatening and insulting you behind your back. As long as the Master thinks that Niohuru can't stand the child in your belly, that's enough. As for the matter in the kitchen, someone will report it to the Master. Do you understand?"

After listening to this, Wuya felt that doing so would not cause her any harm. It was just asking her to say some bad things about Nanxiaoyuan in front of the master. There was no need to bear any consequences at all.

“Well, doing this actually doesn’t do anything bad for my sister,” Liu said.

"Are you really going to trap her in this situation?" said Madam Wuya. "Nan Xiaoyuan has always held a very special place in the Master's heart. Without solid evidence, it's impossible to convince him."

Liu smiled slightly and said, "You don't need to worry about that, sister. Just make sure you do all the foreplay in front of the master. The rest is up to you. You can just wait and watch the show."

A glint flashed in Wuya's eyes, as if she could see Lanqin being banished to the cold palace by the Fourth Prince.

“Alright, I’ll go and talk to her today. I happened to meet her in the small garden,” said Uya.

"Yes, sister, you go ahead first, and the rest will follow soon," Liu said.

After discussing some specific matters, Liu put on a black cloak, helped her maid, and left under the cover of night.

After thinking for a moment, Wuya asked Cuiyun, "Has Master returned yet?"

"They should be back by now. They must have gone to the South Courtyard today," Cuiyun said.

“Slap me first!” Uya suddenly said.

Cuiyun was taken aback and looked at Wuya in surprise, saying, "Princess, this servant wouldn't dare!"

“Hit him, hit him hard. Otherwise, how can the master feel heartbroken when he sees it!” Uya said firmly.

"Princess, are you trying to make the master mistakenly believe that it was that girl from the South Courtyard who did it?" Cuiyun understood.

“Good. Attack!” Uya said to Cui Niang.

Cuiyun hesitated for a moment. She had never laid a hand on her mistress before, and she was a little scared. She said, "Mistress, I'm a little scared. I'm afraid I'll hit you."

"Don't overthink it, just attack here. Then go tell the master that I'm feeling unwell," said Wuya, her mind made up.

Cuiyun nodded, walked up to Wuya, raised her hand, and slapped Wuya hard across the left cheek.

Snap!

After a crisp sound, five finger marks immediately appeared on Wuya's fair cheek. A strange smile appeared on her face as she said, "Alright, Cuiyun. Go find Master now."

Meanwhile, the Fourth Prince had already returned. He didn't go to the inner quarters, but stayed in the front courtyard, because in the past few days, Emperor Kangxi had suddenly ordered him to begin overseeing the autumn imperial examinations. The autumn imperial examinations, held every three years, were the opportunity for the court to select talented individuals.

Cuiyun arrived at the front yard, announced her arrival, and then met Fourth Master.

"Your Majesty, the princess has just started feeling unwell. Please go and see her," Cuiyun said.

"Not feeling well? What's wrong?" the Fourth Prince said, slightly annoyed. He had just returned from a long lecture at court and really didn't want to concern himself with the affairs of the women in the inner quarters.

"Reporting to Your Majesty, this afternoon, the Princess went for a walk in the small garden outside and unexpectedly ran into Consort Niu. Your Majesty intended to avoid her, but Consort Niu insisted on making things difficult for you, even slapping you and accusing you of bewitching Your Majesty. Our Majesty has always been very respectful to Consort Niu and did not want to argue with her. So she returned without saying anything. However, after returning home, our Majesty began to feel unwell. This servant thinks she has gone through a miscarriage." Cuiyun recounted the events she had agreed upon with Wuya.

After listening quietly to Cuiyun finish speaking, Fourth Master's sharp gaze swept over her entire body, his expression remaining unchanged.

This stare made Cuiyun feel a chill run down her spine, but she had already made her words very clear, so she quietly waited for the Fourth Master's reaction.

"I'll go take a look!" the Fourth Master finally said. After all, Lady Wuya was pregnant with his child, and he couldn't ignore it. He didn't believe what Cuiyun had just said, because Lanqin wasn't that kind of woman. In the seven years since she married into this household, he had never seen her hit anyone.

Su Peisheng, standing outside, was startled when he heard what Cuiyun said. He wanted to ventilate the South Courtyard, but Fourth Master didn't have time to wait for his instructions and went with Cuiyun to Wuya's place.

Su Peisheng stamped his foot and had no choice but to follow.

When the Fourth Master and his entourage arrived at Wuya's room, they saw two maids supporting her.

"How could this be!" Fourth Master exclaimed in surprise as he rushed inside upon seeing that Wuya's body was covered in blood.

When Cuiyun and Su Peisheng saw the situation inside the house, they were also surprised and quickly followed her in. Cuiyun, in particular, was shocked because Uya was perfectly fine before she left. How could she have ended up like this?

"Master!" Uya's face was pale and her body was trembling.

Fourth Master grabbed Wuya and shouted urgently to Su Peisheng, "Go and call Doctor Lin, quick!"

Everyone panicked. The Fourth Prince quickly carried Lady Uya to the inner room. The maids were terrified and at a loss for what to do. The Fourth Prince roared, "How have you been taking care of the Princess?"

"Your Majesty, we don't know. We only came in because we heard the princess calling," Zhuier said, her face ashen with fright.

"I don't know! Aren't you all a bunch of good-for-nothings?! All of you, go kneel in the courtyard!" the Fourth Master said urgently. He had already lost too many offspring, so he valued every single one of them.

"Master! It's none of their business." Wuya opened her eyes with a smile and said softly.
