Chapter 1545 Consort De Reprimands Lanqin

"Your Highness, you haven't taken a liking to this county magistrate, have you?" Hook said from behind Indal. He had clearly seen the prince's interest when he stood below watching the two in the pavilion. Others might not have noticed, but he could.

“But she is already married to someone else,” Indal said. “Don’t bring that up again, understand? Otherwise, staying here might bring her unpredictable danger.”

Meanwhile, Lanqin, supporting Sihua's hand, headed back to Yonghe Palace.

"Consort, you're finally back!" Lanqin saw Aunt An standing at the door as soon as she entered.

"What's wrong?" Lanqin asked.

"The Sixth Prince has suddenly developed a fever!" Aunt An said.

Lanqin's brows immediately twitched, and she couldn't help but walk towards Hongli, asking as she went, "I went to see him last night, how come he suddenly developed a fever?"

"I don't know. It was the palace maid who takes care of the Sixth Prince who came to report that she couldn't find you, so she had to come looking for Your Highness," said Aunt An.

Lanqin's brow twitched again, which meant that Consort De already knew that she was not in the palace, and then Hongli suddenly developed a fever!

Lanqin didn't have time to think about these things and followed Aunt An all the way to the house where Hongli lived.

"How have you all been taking care of the Sixth Prince!" A stern, angry voice reached Lanqin's ears. She had just entered the room where Hongli was staying when she saw Consort De, dressed in a dark blue cheongsam adorned with a hundred flowers, questioning a group of kneeling palace maids. The imperial physician was sitting by Hongli's bedside, taking his pulse.

Lanqin's heart tightened, and she quickly went to Consort De and said, "Mother, it is common for young children to have fevers and coughs. You don't need to get so upset. Perhaps the weather suddenly turned cold and Hongli caught a slight cold and developed a fever."

Normally, if Lanqin had offered such advice, Consort De might have listened. However, she had just learned that Lanqin hadn't been in the palace since leaving her place, and she was already angry with Lanqin. Hearing Lanqin's words, she immediately snapped, "You, as a mother, shouldn't you be taking good care of the child? Where have you been this early in the morning! Hongli is sick, and you've been running off again and again. What kind of behavior is this!"

This was the first time Consort De had ever lost her temper with Lanqin, and all the servants in the room were so frightened that they didn't dare to breathe.

"I didn't know Hongli suddenly had a fever. I was just taking a walk in the Imperial Garden. I was very worried about Hongli's illness. Please punish me, Mother." Lanqin knew she was in the wrong. She hadn't been by Hongli's side when he fell ill, and although she felt a little wronged, she wasn't about to argue with Consort De at this time.

"Imperial Physician Huang, how is the Sixth Prince?" Consort De turned to the imperial physician in a huff and asked.

"Your Majesty, the Sixth Prince has only caught a cold. I will immediately prescribe some medicine to dispel the cold and relieve his chills. He should be fine after taking a few doses," Physician Huang said, bowing his head.

Hearing the imperial physician's words, Consort De finally felt relieved. Actually, she was angry with Lanqin. She had just told Lanqin not to wander around outside the palace, and Lanqin had immediately run out. The scolding she had just given was meant for Lanqin's ears.

Lanqin breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

"Alright, you all go with Physician Huang to get the medicine, and start decocting it immediately. Hongli looks very uncomfortable," Consort De said, walking to the bedside with concern.

The palace maids kneeling on the ground immediately got up and followed Physician Huang out. Lanqin also stepped forward to touch Hongli's forehead. It was indeed a bit hot. She then said to Sihua, "Go and prepare the methods we usually use to reduce fever for Wuxiha and the others. We want to bring his temperature down."

Consort De stood aside watching Lanqin and Sihua try to cool Hongli down with physical methods, and asked with a strange look, "What are you doing?"

“Mother, Hongli’s limbs are very hot right now. We need to use this method to cool him down. Once the medicine is brewed, he can drink it and it will be just right,” Lanqin said hurriedly.

"Nonsense! Where did you learn this? How can you lower a fever like this?" Consort De found it increasingly strange. "He has a fever, and you're taking off his clothes? Isn't that just making his condition worse?"

Lanqin had no choice but to patiently explain the methods and principles of physical cooling to Consort De, while trying to avoid using modern terms. You can't talk to Consort De as casually as you would to the Fourth Prince.

"Mother, let her do it. It was used to make it for Ushiha and Bechuk before, and it's very effective!" As soon as the Fourth Prince stepped into the room, he heard Lanqin talking to Consort De about physical cooling methods, and immediately said.

Fourth Master, you've come just in time! Lanqin thought to herself as soon as she saw the Fourth Master arrive.

When Consort De heard the Fourth Prince say this, she felt relieved and let Lanqin go to do the physical cooling method.

"Why did court adjourn so quickly today?" Consort De asked, walking up to the Fourth Prince. "It shouldn't be over yet!"

"Nothing major happened today; Father Emperor dismissed court early," said the Fourth Prince.

"And what about you? Aren't you going to the Ministry of Revenue?" Consort De asked again.

"My son has come, bringing Ushiha and Bechuk to see their mother." Fourth Prince had never seen Consort De asking so many questions before. What was wrong with her today?

When Lanqin heard that Ushiha and Bechuk had arrived, her heart was filled with joy. She hadn't seen her two daughters in a long time, how could she not miss them?

"Let them go to my place first. Don't come here. They're bothering Hongli," said Consort De. "I'm going to see my granddaughter."

Lanqin could only respond and continue to physically cool Hongli down.

The Fourth Prince walked to Lanqin's side and pressed her hand down, saying, "Mother's tone was a bit harsh, don't take it to heart. I'll rub Hongli's legs!"

Si Hua smiled shyly at Lan Qin after hearing what the Fourth Master said.

Hearing Fourth Master's words of comfort, Lanqin felt a little better. This man still knew how to protect her, which was much better than many other men.

"The ones you want to show me today, Master?" Lanqin asked.

"I originally wanted to bring them here to give you a surprise!" Fourth Master replaced Lanqin and began to cool down Hongli.

"Why did you bring the two of them here, Master?" Lanqin asked.

"I sent that servant Su Peisheng to pick him up," Fourth Master said.

"Master?" Lanqin called out again.

"What?" Fourth Master asked.

"How did you learn to fold it into that shape?" Lanqin asked.

"I figured it out myself. It looks like a heart, don't you think?" Fourth Master said.

Lanqin looked at Fourth Master's back and silently gave him a thumbs up in her heart. This man's intelligence is truly remarkable.

"Do you like it?" Fourth Master asked, carrying Lanqin on his back.

Si Hua had already stepped outside the door, and she had also invited the others to leave.

“I like it,” Lanqin said.

"If you fold more next time, will you be liked even more?" Fourth Master asked.
