"You said that all to him?" The Crown Prince looked at Xiao Quanzi in disbelief.
“Your Highness, ever since I came to serve you, I’ve been labeled the culprit who bewitched you. I really don’t want to be misunderstood like this. That’s why I went to see Eunuch A Bao!” Xiao Quanzi said.
"Go and bring him to see me!" the Crown Prince said, refusing to believe it.
Xiao Quanzi immediately gave a signal to one of his usual servants, who promptly left.
A moment later, A Bao was brought in.
“Ah Bao, I ask you, what did Xiao Quanzi want when he came to see you?” the Crown Prince asked.
Having served the Crown Prince for so long, A Bao immediately understood what was going on from that glance and said, "He came to me to ask about His Highness's preferences, but I don't like him, so I didn't tell him!"
Xiao Quanzi was sweating bullets, fearing that A Bao might say something inappropriate.
The crown prince finally began to have some doubts.
"You may all leave!" The Crown Prince glanced at the sky outside.
"Your Highness, this servant has something to say to you!" Abao refused to back down.
Xiao Quanzi looked at him suspiciously for a few moments, then stopped in her tracks.
"What do you wish to say to me?" the Crown Prince asked.
"This servant must repeatedly tell Your Highness!" Abao said, seeing that Xiao Quanzi still hadn't left.
"You may leave!" The Crown Prince said to Xiao Quanzi after a moment's thought.
Xiao Quanzi then looked at A Bao with a hint of sourness. Although he hated the Shi family for turning him into a eunuch and sending him to the palace to serve the Crown Prince, he was already a eunuch! He even had some feelings for the Crown Prince.
"Speak your mind!" the Crown Prince said to the eunuch he once trusted. Abao was the first "man" to give the Crown Prince that feeling, and from then on, there was no stopping him.
A hint of loneliness flickered in A Bao's eyes. It seemed the Crown Prince had suddenly grown to dislike him! He didn't know why. Yet, his "love" for this man had surpassed the love a eunuch had for the Crown Prince.
"Your Highness, it's not too late to back down! Push everything onto the Crown Princess, otherwise, I'm afraid Your Highness's future will be difficult!" A Bao said sincerely. For some reason, ever since entering the Qianqing Palace, he had this feeling: Kangxi hadn't left!
The Crown Prince glared at A Bao and said in an almost icy tone, "What are you saying?"
"Your Highness, this servant feels that everything you've done may be in vain. This servant believes His Majesty should have realized something!" A'Bao said. He thought he was doing it for the Crown Prince, but he didn't know that the Crown Prince of today was no longer the same Crown Prince he once was!
The prince suddenly rushed to Abao and grabbed him by the neck.
"What are you saying?" The Crown Prince's eyes flashed with almost insane rage.
"Your Highness, Your Highness," A Bao felt as if the prince was about to strangle her.
The Crown Prince showed no sign of loosening his grip. The last thing he wanted to hear was that everything he did was under Kangxi's control! He was utterly fed up with the feeling that everything he did was within Kangxi's grasp.
As the prince watched A Bao's face grow paler and paler in his hands, and saw his contorted features, he couldn't help but relax a little.
Ah Bao was finally able to catch his breath. He had almost thought he was going to die.
