Chapter 1770 Bait

After Zhou Xingchuan and Yuan Xinghui finalized their agreement, they secretly began deploying their troops. Upon returning to Taizipo, Zhou Xingchuan immediately summoned Zhou Tianhao. The master and disciple discussed something, though the details remain unknown.

Meanwhile, Fourth Master and Lanqin's dinner was still taken inside. The maids ate with the Taoist priests. Fourth Master's energy and spirit had recovered after an afternoon of recuperation.

"Sister Sihua, my master has a message for me to pass on to your master!" Xiuzhu scurried to his bedroom. His bedroom was now occupied by Fourth Master and Lanqin, so he had to sleep in a shared room with the Taoist priests. Because of his young age and because he was a "hostage" specially kept by Zhou Xingchuan, Zhou Xingchuan had arranged for him to sleep in the library for his safety.

Shui Ling and Si Hua didn't want to share a room with the Taoist priests, so they decided to rest side by side in the library's storage area. Su Peisheng and Gesang also weren't comfortable with sharing with the Taoist priests, so they found another spot in the library to rest. The four of them took turns keeping watch outside their bedroom.

"What do you want?" Si Hua asked, not wanting anyone to disturb Fourth Master and Lan Qin.

"Grandmaster and Master have asked your master to go to my grand-uncle's place to discuss matters. That sister can go as well," Xiuzhu said.

When Si Hua realized that this was what he was talking about, she had no choice but to say, "Wait a moment, I'll go and inform them. You're not allowed to go in!"

Xiuzhu waited obediently in place, not daring to approach the bedroom that originally belonged to her.

Si Hua walked to the bedroom door and said, "Master, Master, Master Zhou requests your presence."

After waiting for a while, she finally heard the faint sound of typing inside, and a "Okay".

When Fourth Master and Lanqin arrived at Zhou Xingchuan's reception room, they found that Zhou Xingchuan had already summoned his four eldest disciples. Zhou Tianhao was clearly in the first seat, and upon seeing Fourth Master and Lanqin, he nodded as a greeting.

"Please sit!" Zhou Xingchuan gestured for Fourth Master and Lanqin to sit to his right, since his four disciples were sitting to his left.

"Taoist Master, have you finalized your plans for tomorrow's operation? What are the arrangements?" Fourth Master asked directly after sitting down.

“We need your cooperation first thing tomorrow morning. He has never spoken to us directly over the years, always sitting behind a screen. Come to think of it, we never suspected anything. Now that I think about it, it must be because he was afraid I would find out he wasn’t our master, which is why he was unwilling to meet us so easily,” Zhou Xingchuan said.

"I wonder how I can cooperate with the long-term needs?" Fourth Master asked.

“He has already given orders to his senior brother today, to take you to the Golden Cauldron first thing tomorrow morning and hand you over to him. It seems he has other intentions for you. I wonder if you are aware of this?” Zhou Xingchuan said.

Fourth Master narrowed his eyes, pondering, "Does the Taoist priest mean that he hasn't told you how to deal with me yet, and only wants Taoist Priest Yuan to hand me over?"

Zhou Xingchuan nodded and said, "My senior brother and I have discussed it. Why don't you take advantage of the opportunity when he gets close to you and capture him in one fell swoop?"

Upon hearing this, Lanqin roughly understood their meaning. She quickly stood up and exclaimed, "No! How skilled is that fake sect leader? How can you let my master take such a risk?"

When Fourth Master saw Lanqin defending him like this, a smile appeared on his lips.
