Chapter 1947 Fourth Master Cooking

After Lanqin's words, Fourth Master realized that the timing was right. After all, they were his own father, so why would he feel awkward about showing them filial piety?

"Fourteenth Prince is better at pleasing Mother than I am at acting cute, that's why he's so loved by her. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, you know?" Lanqin pulled on Fourth Prince's arm, looking quite disappointed in him.

Fourth Master glared at Lanqin and muttered, "How dare you compare me to a baby drinking milk!"

Lanqin smiled, secretly thinking that Fourth Master was sometimes like a child, and sometimes even less capable of pleasing his parents than a child.

Consort De was actually already awake. She was lying in bed, pondering things, when she heard footsteps outside, and even Lanqin's voice, which surprised her. She had thought they had already left with Wuxiha, but she hadn't expected them to stay until now.

"Your Highness, Prince Yong and his concubine have arrived. They say they have prepared dinner for you and would like to invite you to dine with them." Granny De walked in and went to Consort De's bedside, speaking to Consort De, who had her back to her.

Consort De was startled and turned around, gesturing for Consort De to help her up.

After Consort De had her hair combed by the palace maids and changed her clothes, she let the Fourth Prince and Lanqin in.

"Mother, the Prince thinks you're tired from raising Wuxiha these days, so he specially prepared some vegetables for you and wants to have a meal with you." Lanqin said on his behalf when she saw that the Fourth Prince still wouldn't go and beg for mercy.

"The fourth prince cooked this himself?" Consort De looked at the fourth prince in surprise, completely unable to believe that he could cook.

Lanqin quickly smiled and said, "Your Highness was guided by me, and he made a few as a way of showing his filial piety to his mother."

Consort De had never seen the Fourth Prince cook in the kitchen before, and she couldn't even imagine what his dishes would look like. The Fourteenth Prince had once personally brewed tea for her, which had already comforted her; now, the Fourth Prince was cooking. Consort De almost couldn't hide her astonishment.

Since her eldest son had already prepared the meal, Consort De wanted to go and see it, so the mother and her two sons sat down at the dining table, and Ushiha was also called over to eat.

"Let's start serving the dishes!" Lanqin instructed the palace maid. She had prepared everything and was just waiting to see if Consort De would like the dishes after they were all served.

One by one, the dishes were brought up by the palace maids, and then the lids were lifted and the dishes were placed on the dining table.

Consort De was once again astonished by the dishes before her. They looked and tasted delicious, completely unlike anything the Fourth Prince had ever made. In other words, the Fourth Prince's first attempt at cooking had yielded such a result; he truly possessed an extraordinary talent for cooking.

Seeing the Consort De's surprised look, Lanqin smiled contentedly and said, "Mother, would you like to try some?"

Consort De subconsciously gestured to the maid beside her to serve her food, and then she picked up her special silver chopsticks to pick up the food in the bowl.

Surprisingly, it tastes pretty good!

Ushiha also started picking up food; it was her first time eating her father's cooking, so she naturally couldn't miss it.

"Mmm, Ama's cooking is so delicious!" Ushiha exclaimed after only a few bites.

When Fourth Master heard his daughter's praise, the corners of his mouth immediately curved into a smile. He was always serious about what he did, and Lanqin had just explained the cooking process to him, so he carefully followed each step, absolutely adhering to the steps Lanqin had taught him. He hadn't expected the taste to be so good.

Lanqin didn't actually taste it, but when she saw the serious and unsmiling look on Fourth Master's face while he was cooking, she knew that the dish couldn't be bad.

"Fourth Prince, is this really your first time cooking?" Consort De could hardly believe it; the taste was quite good. Moreover, she still couldn't believe that the Fourth Prince, a dignified prince, could cook. It was completely overturning her previous way of thinking.

Fourth Master nodded and said, "This is my first time making it, it's not very good, Mother, please use some."

Consort De was immediately flattered, after all, the Fourth Prince had never tried to please his mother like this before. If we're talking about thoughtfulness, it's definitely her youngest son who knows how to please her; the Fourth Prince had never done anything like this before.

“Zuma, my father’s cooking is delicious, isn’t it?” Ushiha asked.

Consort De nodded and said, "Your father can do everything very well."

The Fourth Prince was thrilled. Consort De rarely praised him, especially not in front of so many people.

"Your Highness, Mother is praising you! From now on, you should come to Yonghe Palace more often to cook for Mother, okay?" Lanqin wanted the Fourth Prince to get closer to his birth mother. She didn't want the Consort De to one day truly become estranged from the Fourth Prince. Historically, Consort De died suddenly in Yonghe Palace not long after Yongzheng ascended the throne.

Can she avoid it in this life? What exactly caused the mother and son to turn against each other, leading to Consort De's mysterious death?

"If Mother likes it, I will come and cook for you often!" Fourth Master had no choice but to reply in this way.
