Chapter 1957 The Last Enterprise

Suhari listened to these words silently, his face, which had been smiling, now filled with heavy worry.

"Prince, Master Xia, the glutinous rice balls will get cold if we don't eat them soon," Tuji said.

Suhari glanced at Tuji, signaling him to leave immediately. He had just been talking to Master Xia when this clueless guy came over and asked for tangyuan (sweet rice balls).

Looking into the cold, icy gaze of the prince he had served since childhood, Tuji felt as if his body had been frozen solid, the cold seeping into his very teeth.

“Master, didn’t you say that the most powerful prince in the Qing Dynasty is the emperor’s fourth son, and that his family has a marriage proposal tomorrow? Why don’t we go and take a look?” Suhari turned to Master Xia and said.

“Standing aside and watching is certainly possible,” Master Xia said. “If the prince wants to befriend him, he will need an introduction.”

"Let's go and see what kind of person this Fourth Prince is. If we can't reach an agreement, then there's no point in continuing." Suhari's expression relaxed again.

Meanwhile, Ushiha and the others had already returned to the manor. Ushiha was still in a terrible mood, thinking about how she had been shunned and beaten that day. After returning home, she refused to go to Lanqin's place and instead locked herself in her room.

In the evening, Namin began to bathe with the help of her maids, and Wu Shi combed her hair. Then, they took stock of her dowry. Everyone in the inner quarters went to Wu Shi's place. Only Nian Shi declined, saying that she was too sick to move around.

Lanqin couldn't spare the time to deal with Wuxiha, so she naturally took her people to Wu's side. The manor had already begun making various preparations for Namin's outrageous behavior.

Ushiha lay alone in bed and drifted off to sleep.

After an unknown amount of time, Ushiha woke up, feeling a dry throat, and called for his maid.

"Has Mother come yet?" Ushiha asked, taking a sip of tea.

"No, the concubine has probably gone to the Third Princess's place," the maid said.

"They've all gone to Third Sister's place. I'll go too. Quickly, wash my face." After waking up, Ushiha realized that today was Namin's special day, so he put those other things out of his mind.

"Yes, this servant will help you wash your face right away," the maidservant replied hastily.

After tidying up, Ushiha suddenly felt very hungry, because she hadn't eaten anything since she left and had been sleeping until now. She wanted to eat something, so she said to the maid, "Bring me some food first."

In the Fourth Master's inner quarters, red lanterns fluttered in the summer breeze, and figures moved about everywhere. Lanqin had everything prepared for tomorrow, waiting for the auspicious hour early tomorrow morning to begin the betrothal and welcoming of guests.

In the main courtyard, Fujian was reclining on a bamboo couch, resting. Lingxiu stood beside him, talking about something.

“Madam Ji hasn’t come to report yet that the Third Princess is about to get married. I’m afraid there won’t be another chance to talk to her,” Lingxiu said.

"Useless thing. She's never won the prince's favor, so nothing she says will make a difference," the princess said angrily.

"Madam, why don't I help you go see the Third Princess now? As the primary wife, you should speak with her. Take this opportunity to tell her about your birth mother," the leader said.

The princess consort pondered, "She's surrounded by people; how can I possibly get close enough to speak to her?"
