Chapter 1997 Interrogation

Lanqin quickly asked, "I wonder if Princess Xueying encountered anyone else at Tantuo Temple?"

The question came as a surprise, and Xueying was momentarily caught off guard, unsure how to answer Lanqin's question. If she were to reveal that she had met Hongli and Hongzhou privately at the Marriage Pavilion, it would severely damage a young woman's reputation. Moreover, she didn't understand why Lanqin had suddenly asked such a question; had Hongli and Hongzhou revealed yesterday's meeting?

Lanqin clearly saw hesitation and contemplation in Xueying's eyes, and immediately became certain that Xueying must have met Hongli and Hongzhou and said something, which was why there was hesitation and fear in her eyes.

"If you see Hongzhou and Hongli, tell us quickly, they haven't returned all night." Gengshi naturally didn't know that Lanqin hadn't even told Wuxiha and the others, so she hurriedly told them.

Lanqin glanced at Madam Geng. Although she knew Madam Geng was worried about Hongzhou, she showed displeasure on her face and said, "Miss Xueying, Hongzhou and Hongli went to Tantuo Temple yesterday. Did they see you? They haven't returned since yesterday, and we still don't know where they are."

Xueying was taken aback. Several thoughts raced through her mind. The two brothers hadn't returned all night, which meant they had spent the night outside and hadn't come back yet. Could something have happened to them?

"Mother, Hongli and Hongzhou haven't come back all night? Why didn't you say so sooner!" Wuxiha exclaimed in surprise.

Lanqin nodded and continued to Xueying, "The prince has already sent people out to search, but we don't have any clues at all and have no idea where they are now."

Xueying was in a dilemma. She was wondering whether she should say what Hongzhou and Hongli had said to her in the Marriage Pavilion that day in front of so many people. But if she didn't say it, it was obvious that this concubine would not let her off the hook. She was clearly coming for her!

"Reporting to Consort Xue, yesterday at Tan Tuo Temple, Xueying did indeed see the Fourth Prince and the Fifth Prince. However, we only exchanged a few words before Xueying had to go to meet up with her aunt and others, so she left alone. After that, she didn't know where the two princes went," Xueying said. She was determined not to reveal what Hongzhou had told her, but she truly didn't know where Hongli and Hongzhou had gone.

Where could they go? After they walked out of that room, they immediately left the temple, and then where did they go?

Lanqin and Gengshi exchanged a glance, clearly disappointed that they hadn't gotten any useful clues from Xueying, but they were still unwilling to give up.

"Princess Xueying, why did Hongzhou and the others suddenly go to Tantuo Temple and happen to run into you? Did Hongzhou actually say a few words to you?" Geng asked.

"No. Xueying only greeted the two princes and then chatted for a few minutes." Xueying was somewhat annoyed by Geng's question, as if she were the kind of woman who didn't know the rules. Logically speaking, she should have avoided Hongli and Hongsheng immediately.

Lanqin thought for a moment, and seeing that Xueying really didn't know anything, she realized that if she continued to press her, Wulanara Xueying would just run away.

"Ushiha, you talk to Xueying nicely, your mother is going back now." Seeing that she couldn't get any information, Lanqin decided to go back. Geng looked at Xueying with disappointment, and had no choice but to follow Lanqin back to wait for news.

After they all left, Ushiha waved to Xueying, signaling her to come over and talk to her.

"Xueying, do you know, my fifth brother has feelings for you!" Wuxiha whispered in Xueying's ear.

Upon hearing Wuxiha's words, Xueying felt as if a secret hidden in her heart had been exposed, staring at Wuxiha in disbelief. Her mind was now even more confused; how many people knew? How could Hongzhou announce this to the whole world?!

Xueying, standing beside Wuxiha, said, "I know too. Hongzhou told me yesterday, but I didn't let him tell him."

Ushiha was even more surprised this time. She did not expect that Ulanara Xueying would be so frank with her and that she seemed to like her quite a bit.

"Why didn't you explain this to my mother just now?" Ushiha said, tilting his head.

"I'd be too embarrassed to say it directly," Xueying said.

“Well, that’s true. A man and a woman alone together, saying things like that, your reputation will be ruined,” Ushiha said.

"Please, Fourth Princess, accompany me to inform the Consort that Hongzhou and Hongli may have gone to a nearby restaurant for a meal," Xueying said.

Ushiha quickly replied, "Yes, that's right. They must be eating at a nearby tavern."

"Then Xueying won't sit any longer. She has to go back and accompany her aunt to embroider those patterns she likes." Ulanara Xueying smiled helplessly at Wuxiha, revealing her rather cute little tiger teeth.

“If Hongzhou really married someone like you, he would be secretly overjoyed!” Wuxiha said.

"Then I'll take my leave. If Fourth Princess needs anything, just come and find me." Wuxiha grabbed Hongli's arm, trying to snatch the things from his hands.
