"What's wrong with Xueying?" Wuxiha asked, noticing Hongzhou's gloomy expression and Hongli's strange look.
"She sprained her ankle, but it shouldn't be anything serious. We've already called a doctor to examine her," Lanqin said.
"How did you sprain your ankle all of a sudden?" Mingyu glanced at Hongli and asked.
“You’ll have to ask Hongli. He’s the one who carried Xueying back,” Hongzhou suddenly said, then looked at Hongli.
All eyes were on Hongli, many of them filled with astonishment. They wouldn't be surprised if the person carrying Xueying back was Hongzhou, but it was Hongli, which was simply unbelievable. Everyone knew that Hongli had never been very nice to Xueying, and even disliked her.
“I thought it was Bechuk playing the flute, so I went to look for her, only to find out it was her. On the way to find Mingyu, Xueying slipped and fell. I saw that her foot hurt a lot, so I quickly carried her back.” Hongli said this while looking at Mingyu. He knew she must be angry. He had clearly promised to go back to find her, but now he had carried Xueying back instead.
"Oh, I see. It's good that Xueying's foot is alright. I'm not a child anymore, I'll come out on my own." Mingyu quickly said to Lanqin after seeing Hongli's explanation. She knew that if she argued with Hongli about this now, it would be inconsiderate and unvirtuous.
"You can all leave now. You must all be chilled. Go back and warm yourself up. Have some hot soup or water tonight, or you'll easily catch a cold," Lanqin instructed. "If Xueying is alright, she can stay in the house for a few more days and she should be fine."
Everyone went back to their own rooms, except for Wuxiha, who stayed behind. She was a little worried about Xueying, so she stayed with Lanqin to wait for the doctor's results.
After the doctor examined him, it turned out that he had indeed sprained his ankle, but the bone was not broken. He could be healed by rubbing it with some liniment, but he would have to rest in bed for a few days before he could get out of bed.
Lanqin then sent someone to move Xueying back to Changchun Immortal Pavilion, and specially dispatched two maids to serve her. Because she was returning to her residence, she instructed Wuxihaduo to take care of her, and then Lanqin returned to her residence with the maids.
"Princess, what would you like to eat?" A'luo asked Xueying, who was reclining on the bed.
"I want to eat radish and bone soup, because it's good to have something similar to nourish it!" Xueying said with a smile.
"Princess, you're still laughing? I was so worried! Luckily you didn't fall too badly, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to explain to the Duke and his wife," A'luo said with a bitter face.
"It's just a sprained ankle, what are you worried about?" Xueying said, a smile playing on her lips.
"Princess, why do I feel like you're quite happy?" A'Luo asked, puzzled, when she saw Xueying smiling.
"Come here, I have something to say to you," Xueying beckoned to A'luo.
A Luo then walked to Xue Ying's bedside, leaned down, and put her ear close to Xue Ying's lips.
"Ah!" A Luo suddenly stood up straight and exclaimed in surprise as she looked at Xue Ying.
"Alright, that's enough. Go get me my meal. I'm hungry!" Xueying said sternly when she saw A'luo's surprised expression.
“I knew my princess wasn’t the type to be easily manipulated,” A-Luo said with a strange expression.
"So what kind of personality does your princess have?" Ushiha happened to be walking to Xueying's door when he heard A'luo's question.
