Chapter 2061 Planning to Return Home

"Qin'er, will Nian be alright?" Fourth Master asked again.

“I don’t know. All I know is that if we don’t perform a cesarean section now, I’m afraid neither the mother nor the baby will survive,” Lanqin said. “I trust Dr. Liang; he can do the suturing. This method is already very common in the West.”

Fourth Master nodded and said no more. The two waited in the side room for Doctor Liang to come out.

Meanwhile, the Fujin was sitting in the main room of the courtyard, with Shuzhen sitting to her left and Xueying next to her. The room was so quiet that only the sound of teacups clinking could be heard.

"Shuzhen, Lady Irgen is pregnant. Is Hongshi not going to visit you again?" the Fujin asked.

Shuzhen lowered her head, her face filled with disappointment and resentment, and said angrily, "Mother, Shuzhen has done as you instructed, but why is my belly so uncooperative!"

Xueying continued to drink her tea with her head down, ignoring Shuzhen's affairs. She had always looked down on Hongshi, so she had absolutely no interest in Shuzhen's business.

"Is your period regular?" the princess asked, frowning.

“It’s always been very accurate. My niece even made sure to have intercourse with the Second Prince at the exact time of her period, so why can’t she get pregnant, while Irgen beat her to it?” Shuzhen said anxiously.

"Pregnancy is a matter of timing. Aunt, there's really no need to worry too much about Irgen. I think she's easy to fool, and my second cousin probably took a liking to her naivety," Xueying said.

"Does my sister mean that all our efforts are less effective than her simplicity?" Shuzhen asked.

"Aunt, Xueying, why don't you go back for the New Year? It's not good for you to stay here all the time." Xueying ignored her and asked again.

"If you want to go back for the New Year, then go back." The Fujin had no time to think about it anymore. Right now, Hongshi's feelings were her biggest concern, and she couldn't consider anything else for the time being.

“I heard that Consort Nian couldn’t give birth, so the South Courtyard specially invited Father back!” Shuzhen said.

"That vile woman, Lady Nian, might as well not have given birth! If it weren't for her joining forces with Lady Niohuru, I wouldn't be in this state today," the princess said bitterly.

"Aunt, Xueying will go back and pack her things now," Xueying said to the Fujin as she stood up.

"Yes, you may go now," said the Fujin. "Shuzhen, you will have dinner with me."

Xueying helped A'luo out of the main house.

"Princess, are you really going back?" A'luo asked.

"You think it's inappropriate?" Xueying asked.

Rows of dark clouds loomed overhead in the distance.

"It rarely rains in winter, but it looks like it's going to rain," A'Luo said, looking up at the clouds in the distance.

"Winter rain is especially cold," Xueying said softly.

“Princess, you haven’t answered my question yet. Why are you going back to the manor at this time?” A’Luo asked.

“He’s avoiding me, so I already know his intentions. We’ll make plans when we get back to the manor,” Xueying said.

"Does the Fourth Prince still have feelings for the Princess? But it seems he hasn't appeared since that day," A'Luo said.

“If he had no intention of seeing me, he wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to avoid me. It’s precisely because he has intentions that he dares not see me. Because he doesn’t dare to admit in his heart that he has feelings for me,” Xueying said.

Just as the master and servant returned to their room, a series of cold raindrops fell from the sky, mercilessly pelting the heads of the ignorant people.

The snow outside hadn't melted yet, and with this layer of icy rain, the weather was getting even colder.
