"Mother!" Ushiha and Suhar stepped across the threshold of the south courtyard and saw Lanqin standing at the door of the main house, looking at them.
Fourth Master naturally didn't come out; he would never have come out to greet us, even if it meant death.
Lanqin knew that blaming Ushiha was useless at this point, but she still had her opinions about their actions, though she couldn't express them in front of Suhar.
"You're back! Your father is sitting inside. Come in quickly and apologize to him properly!" Lanqin said to Ushiha, but she still smiled at Suhar and said, "Ushiha's happiness is now in your hands."
Upon hearing Lanqin's words, Suhar smiled warmly, like the first rays of sunlight in the morning, and bowed to her.
When Wuxiha stepped into the main room, he immediately felt the chill emanating from the Fourth Master. The servants in the room had lost their usual vigor, each one listless and afraid to make a sound.
Ushiha knew that what she had done yesterday must have angered her father, but since the deed was done, even though she was afraid, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and talk to the Fourth Master.
"Father! Ushiha greets Father!" Ushiha walked up to Fourth Master and curtsied without caring whether he looked pleased or not.
Suhar followed Lanqin behind and saw Wuxiha half-squatting down, while Fourth Master sat there with an icy expression.
"Get up." Fourth Master said reluctantly when he saw Lanqin giving him a meaningful look.
When Lanqin sat down next to Fourth Master, Wuxiha and Suhar stood by.
"Well, Ushiha, after discussing it with your father, your mother has decided to agree to Prince Suhar's marriage proposal yesterday. Since you two are in love, your mother and father also hope that you can get married and grow old together." Lanqin continued to smooth things over, although she herself felt a little strange, since she was about to become a mother-in-law.
"Thank you, Prince Yong and Consort Yong, for your kindness!" Suhar quickly performed a half-chest salute.
"Thank you so much, Father and Mother!" Ushiha hadn't expected things to go so smoothly, and quickly bowed in gratitude.
"But I have one condition: she must reside in the capital. I will personally provide a mansion as part of her dowry, which will serve as her residence. After the marriage, the prince and my fourth princess will live there. The cooperation between Dayuan and the Qing Dynasty also requires someone to mediate between them. I have heard that the prince is the second prince of Dayuan, not the crown prince, so it is perfect that he stays in the capital," the Fourth Prince said in one breath.
The Fourth Prince was unwilling to agree to this marriage, and being forced into it by his own daughter was something he could not tolerate. However, for the sake of Wuxiha and the reputation of the Yong Prince's Mansion, he had no choice but to agree to the marriage.
Ushiha was taken aback. She didn't actually want to stay in Kyoto long-term; she wanted to travel west with Suhar and see another country. Suhar, too, had no intention of staying in Kyoto permanently. He had grander plans to realize than to become a son-in-law of the Qing Dynasty.
Lanqin sighed inwardly. The Fourth Prince was too impatient. She had planned to have a proper talk with the two of them first, and then naturally inquire about their future life arrangements, and then make suggestions to Wuxihati. But the Fourth Prince said it like this today, and his tone was very harsh. It was as if he wanted them to abandon their life there and marry into the Qing Dynasty.
The situation immediately became awkward.
