Hongshi spent twenty taels of silver to order a pot of wine and waited alone while drinking. Several hours passed without seeing Ningxiang.
The madam was busy serving others and had no time to pay attention to Hongshi. Hongshi seized the opportunity and secretly slipped upstairs.
Taking advantage of his drunkenness, Hongshi pushed open the door to his old room, thinking that Ningxiang was waiting for him, and softly called out, "I'm here... I've missed you so much..."
But the room was empty. Hongshi searched everywhere but couldn't find Ningxiang. He was extremely disappointed. He had no choice but to wander out and search room by room...
Suddenly, Hongshi seemed to hear Ningxiang's sweet voice. He groped his way forward, supporting himself against the wall, and the sound grew closer. Hongshi impatiently pushed open the door, and what he saw made him dizzy.
Ningxiang sat gracefully on an old man's lap, her arms wrapped around his neck, her clothes already slipped down to her chest, and she coaxed him with a smile to have another drink.
The old man's hand climbed onto Ningxiang's waist. He had a fat head and big ears, and a mouthful of yellow teeth. He was about to lean in and kiss Ningxiang's cheek.
In a moment of impulsiveness, Hongshi rushed to the two of them with red eyes, grabbed Ningxiang and pulled her behind him to protect her, and kicked the old man away.
Ningxiang screamed in fright, covering her ears. The old man was caught off guard by the kick and couldn't get up even after a few attempts.
The commotion upstairs caught the madam's attention, and she immediately led several of her employees upstairs.
Upon seeing the scene before him, he exaggeratedly helped the old man up and apologized repeatedly. The old man was relentless and wanted to punish Hongshi, but Hongshi was still not convinced.
"You dare to touch my woman! You're lucky I haven't killed you today..."
Hongshi turned around, anxiously pulling Ningxiang along, and asked, "Ningxiang? How are you? Did he hurt you? Didn't you say you'd wait for me?"
Ningxiang was taken aback, not expecting Hongshi to take her casual remark seriously. She laughed, "Master, are you not sick? Did you really think I would wait for you? If you don't have money, I'll naturally go and serve other masters..."
After saying this, Ningxiang left Hongshi, walked to the old man opposite her, helped him up, and looked at Hongshi with disdain.
Enraged, Hongshi demanded, "How...how could you betray me? Wasn't the money I gave you enough before? Couldn't you even wait a little while?"
Ningxiang covered her mouth and laughed, "Master, I'm just a courtesan. I serve whoever pays the most. I heard you only brought twenty taels of silver with you this time. Do you know that twenty taels of silver wouldn't even get me a glimpse of you... let alone let me serve you..."
The old man who had just been kicked by Hongshi became bolder seeing the crowd. He grabbed Ningxiang and deliberately showed off to Hongshi: "So you're just a poor kid, huh? You actually have your eye on Ningxiang. You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror before you dare to cause trouble here..."
Ningxiang giggled and acted coquettishly in the old man's arms: "Master, don't be angry. Let's not let this person ruin the atmosphere. Ningxiang will have a few more drinks with you later..." After saying that, she tiptoed and whispered a few words in the old man's ear.
The old man was amused by Ningxiang and said loudly, "Good! Since Miss Ningxiang has some special talents waiting to be performed for me, then I will spend more money to make Miss Ningxiang happy..." After saying that, he took out a stack of silver notes from his pocket and threw them on the table.
The madam immediately beamed with joy. The old man glanced at Hongshi, who was standing there dumbfounded, and didn't forget to mock him: "I'm in a good mood today. For Miss Ningxiang's sake, I'll spare you. Now get the hell out of here..."
Enraged, Hongshi was about to confront the madam when a servant behind her shoved him aside. He lost his balance and stumbled to the ground.
The madam walked up and looked at Hongshi with disdain: "I told you, if you don't have money, don't come looking for girls. We don't do charity here. You should be grateful that Ningxiang served you. Today, this gentleman is kind and won't hold you responsible. Now get out of here..."
"Get lost... You really think you're something special..."
"Get out of here, don't disturb Miss Ningxiang and her guests..."
"Yes, let's go... I thought Miss Ningxiang would fall in love with you, how incredibly naive I was..."
The waiter shoved Hongshi while cursing.
