Chapter 2683 Consolation

Fucha Mingyu wore a faint look of worry on her face, but she could not hide her smugness as she walked into the main hall with her maid.

Standing to one side, Xueying looked at her voice, her hands, which were hidden in her wide sleeves, unconsciously clenched into fists.

Fucha Mingyu is the future principal wife of Hongli, so it is only natural for her to visit her future mother-in-law.

She was merely a concubine, and if she wanted to visit Consort Xi, she had to disguise herself as a eunuch. When she was discovered, Hongli reprimanded her and kicked her out.

The distinction between legitimate and illegitimate children, and between the superior and inferior, is both laughable and infuriating.

She was furious and lost in thought when she suddenly heard a series of footsteps approaching, which then stopped in front of her.

Xueying was startled. What came into view was a pair of black boots. Her gaze followed the person's legs upwards and found it was Hongzhou.

Hongzhou had a faint smile in his eyes. "Let's go, I'll take you back."

Xueying was stunned for a moment, "I..."

Hongzhou glanced into the main hall and said, "Fourth Brother won't be coming out for the time being. You're just sitting here anyway, so why don't you come back with me?"

Xueying twitched the corners of her mouth, feeling somewhat embarrassed. At this moment, Hongli and Xueying were in the room, guarding Consort Xi. They were the true couple, while she seemed to be the superfluous one.

Xueying took a breath, nodded, and curtsied to Hongzhou. "Then I'll have to trouble you."

Hongzhou smiled slightly and turned to walk outside.

The two left Yingzhou Hall together. The scenery outside Yingzhou Hall was beautiful and pleasant. The wind was cool and refreshing, blowing from the green lake and rippling the water. Hongzhou strode ahead, while Xueying followed slowly behind him.

There was a small boat on the shore, with several eunuchs and boatmen standing beside it.

“Let’s go up!” Hongzhou said to Xueying, who was following behind him, deep in thought.

Xueying then came to her senses and was pulled onto the boat by the eunuch. Hongli also boarded the boat, and the two went into the cabin.

Xueying remained silent, while Hongzhou pulled back the cabin curtain, looked at the scenery outside, and said, "The scenery today is picturesque, reminding me of the poem you composed at the lotus appreciation gathering, which was quite extraordinary."

Upon hearing this, Xueying turned her head and looked outside.

She smiled faintly. She couldn't see the horizon where the sea met the sky; only layers of mountains and rows of houses stretched out before her. She said, "The scenery is quite nice."

“Even the beautiful scenery can’t distract you.” Seeing that Xueying still looked dejected and her eyes were unfocused, Hongzhou said, “Actually, the reason why Fourth Brother scolded you was because he was too worried about Consort Xi and was in a bad mood, so his tone was a bit harsh. Don’t mind it.”

Upon hearing this, Xueying finally looked Hongzhou in the eye and said, "I know he's worried about Consort Xi, but I don't mind and I won't be angry. How could I dare to be angry with the Fourth Prince?"

Hongzhou looked at her as she was dressed in a eunuch's robe and wearing a hat. Although she had a somewhat aloof appearance, it could not hide her beauty.

Hongzhou quickly suppressed the panic in his heart.

He said, "Don't be sad. If you want to see Consort Xi in the future, use another method. Don't sneak in disguised as a eunuch anymore."

"Okay, I understand," Xueying replied calmly.

Seeing this, Hongzhou could only sigh and stop talking, and the cabin became very quiet for a while.
