Seventeenth Master stayed on the island for another day, clinging to hope. However, Fourteenth Master did not come to find him by the evening of the second day. The agreed time to leave had arrived, and Thirteenth Master's men would be coming to the sea to meet Seventeenth Master. If Seventeenth Master did not leave now, it would be too late.
Seventeenth Master, accompanied by several guards, slowly found the entrance by following the route he remembered. After leaving the White Lotus Sect's territory, he changed out of his women's clothing. The men immediately felt much lighter, and Seventeenth Master kept turning back, hoping that Fourteenth Master would suddenly appear.
The guard, not wanting to disappoint the Seventeenth Prince, whispered, "Let's go. If we don't leave soon, the Thirteenth Prince's ship will attack the island without waiting for anyone, and then all our efforts will be in vain..."
Fourteenth Brother sighed helplessly, "I just can't believe that Fourteenth Brother would really abandon the Qing Dynasty and our brotherhood. It's hard for anyone to accept this..."
It was getting late, and Seventeenth Master gave up completely. Disappointed, he led everyone through the jungle, groping their way to the place where they had been carried ashore.
The shore was rocky and the sea was turbulent, the wind making it difficult for Seventeenth Master to stand. As agreed, Thirteenth Master would send a small boat to help them leave, but there was no sign of any boat on the shore at this time.
The Seventeenth Prince panicked and ordered his men to search more carefully. After a while, a guard returned and reported, "Seventeenth Prince, the tide has come in. It seems the small boat sent by the Thirteenth Prince has been swept away by the sea. The shore is full of exposed reefs. If we want to leave, we'll probably have to wait until the tide comes in and the boats return..."
The seventeenth master, his voice muffled by the sea breeze, shouted at the top of his lungs, "No, we can't wait any longer, we must leave tonight..."
Suddenly, a figure darted out of the distant jungle, its face obscured by the darkness. Seventeenth Master and his men immediately assumed combat stances, watching warily as the figure slowly approached.
Fourteenth Prince!
Seventeenth Prince excitedly pushed aside the guards protecting him and rushed over, saying, "Fourteenth Brother, I knew you wouldn't be confused! It's wonderful that you've come to your senses..."
The Fourteenth Prince coldly shook off the Seventeenth Prince's hand and shouted at him, "I haven't changed my mind, and I won't go with you..."
Seventeenth Master looked stunned and asked in surprise, "Then why... then why did you come to find me?"
Fourteenth Prince looked at the sky, then scanned the coastline, and calmly said, "I know the tide will recede tonight, and your boat will probably be swept away by the sea, so I came..." Before Fourteenth Prince could finish speaking, Seventeenth Prince's disappointed gaze hit Fourteenth Prince in the face, and Fourteenth Prince collapsed onto the beach before he could react.
The Seventeenth Prince hysterically pointed at the Fourteenth Prince and roared, "Since you've abandoned the Qing Dynasty, abandoned Father Emperor's expectations, and abandoned your own identity, why bother pretending to care about me? Everyone is waiting for you to return, why are you so stubborn? What's so good about this heretical witch? Have you even forgotten who you are?"
The Fourteenth Prince touched his face, pushed himself up with his hands, and replied with red eyes, "It's because I can't forget who I am that I can't go back!"
The Seventeenth Prince was extremely disappointed. He staggered away and turned to leave. The Fourteenth Prince shouted after him, "I know where there's a boat that can take you out!"
Seventeen knew he had to leave as soon as possible, otherwise he feared for his life if he were discovered.
