Chapter 2990 Re-entering the Island

Upon hearing this, the Seventeenth Prince was so excited he almost jumped up. He turned around and hugged the Thirteenth Prince, exclaiming joyfully, "Thirteenth Brother, it must be the Fourteenth Brother contacting us! See, I told you the Fourteenth Brother wouldn't abandon us, much less the Qing Dynasty!"

The Thirteenth Prince waved for the soldiers to leave, shook his head helplessly, but couldn't hide his joy.

Seventeenth Master suppressed his wildly beating heart, not because he was happy to have completed the task assigned by Fourth Brother, but because the brotherhood between them had not disappointed him.

"Don't be too happy yet, it might be a trap! After all, Fourteenth Brother has been entangled with that witch from the cult for so long, and you said that witch is pregnant with his child. How could he easily abandon the darkness and turn to the light..." Thirteenth Master couldn't help but remind Seventeenth Master, seeing his happy expression.

Seventeenth Master was stunned, his expression gradually freezing. Thirteenth Brother was right. Fourteenth Master had never believed him, and his attitude was so resolute when he left. This smoke contact might be a trap that the demoness and Fourteenth Master had planned together.

Seventeenth Master pondered for a moment, then seemed to have made a decision, and said resolutely, "Thirteenth Brother, I still want to go and ask you for clarification in person!"

Fourteen hesitated for a moment, then decisively rejected the idea, saying, "No, what if it's a trap? Wouldn't you be walking right into it?"

In a panic, the Seventeenth Prince stepped forward and blocked the Thirteenth Prince's path, stretching out his hand to stop him. He feigned a thuggish manner, urgently saying, "Thirteenth Brother, what if Fourteenth Brother really changes his mind? No matter what, we must go see him before deciding what to do next!" The Thirteenth Prince turned his head away, ignoring the Seventeenth Prince, and angrily retorted, "It's not you who's going. I will send someone to the island to meet Fourteenth!"

Seventeenth Master's eyes widened, and he clung to Thirteenth Master's clothes, pleading, "Thirteenth Brother, I've been to the island before and I know the entrance. I'm the most suitable person to go!"

Thirteenth Brother glanced at Seventeenth Master with a troubled expression, and Seventeenth Master nodded firmly. Thirteenth Master sighed helplessly and said, "Are you really not afraid of death?" Seventeenth Master was taken aback, then laughed and said, "Thirteenth Brother, what are you talking about? Of course I'm afraid of death! I haven't even married my wife yet!" After saying that, his face immediately turned serious: "But I believe in Fourteenth Brother!"

Thirteenth Prince couldn't argue with Seventeenth Prince, so he had no choice but to agree to his request.

Just like last time, Thirteenth Master disguised himself as a grain merchant and made contact with the Green-Clad Hall Master. Then, under the pretense of delivering grain, he prepared to send Seventeen and the others to the island.

Everything went smoothly. Because he trusted Thirteen, the Green-Clad Hall Master did not inspect the goods for the first time and had them loaded onto the ship. After a long rocking ride, Seventeen and his group arrived at the warehouse once again.

Seventeenth Master had some doubts, but he didn't think much of it and remained quietly inside the box. Only after the warehouse was completely silent did he slowly open the wooden box, peek out, and look around.

"Could it be that I'm overthinking things? This landing on the island went unusually smoothly?" Seventeenth Master's eyelids twitched incessantly, but the warehouse remained completely unaffected. "Never mind, let's hurry up and find Fourteenth Brother..." Seventeenth Master dismissed his doubts and gave a coded signal for the soldiers in the other boxes to come out.

Suddenly, just as Seventeenth Master stepped out of the box, dozens of men wielding spears appeared out of nowhere, surrounding him and his companions. Seventeenth Master cried out in alarm, "This is bad!" and tried to find an exit to escape. Looking back, he saw people everywhere; there was simply no way to escape!
