Hongshi said, "Yes, I asked her, but she didn't know where she was from."
Upon hearing this, Linlang understood that Hongshi had not punished Ruan Meiying. She was extremely disappointed. Hongshi knew that Ruan Meiying's existence was a threat, yet he hadn't killed her. After venting her emotions, Linlang sat down and wrote a letter to the Eighth Prince, detailing what had happened word by word, and then sent it to him by carrier pigeon.
After reading the letter, the Eighth Prince, who had previously been angry with Hongshi, was now disappointed. He slammed the letter on the table with a "bang" and muttered to himself:
"Hongshi, Hongshi, your womanly compassion and indecisiveness truly disappoint me. Very well, since you can't bring yourself to do it, I will kill that woman for you."
