The Eighth Prince's Consort coldly laughed, "Since His Majesty is unwilling to drink with me, then I will not drink. However, I am worried that if I offer a wine cup that His Majesty has refused, others will feel pressured. So I have no choice but to smash and discard it!"
The Fourth Prince's pent-up anger was about to erupt like a volcano. He held back for a moment and asked the Eighth Prince's wife in a low voice, "What exactly do you want to do?"
The Eighth Prince's Consort fearlessly stepped forward and replied, "I learned all of this from Your Majesty. I would rather destroy anything or anyone I'm afraid of than keep them by my side, wouldn't you say?"
The Fourth Prince was taken aback, not expecting the Eighth Prince's wife to say such a thing. The Eighth Prince's wife was determined to oppose the Fourth Prince, and she stood up straight and said to everyone, "Your Majesty, Your Majesty, I never thought you would be so ruthless... Since you were so heartless as to turn against your own brother, I should have guessed that the next one would be the Eighth Prince when you were dealing with the Fourteenth Prince!"
"Eighth Sister-in-law, what nonsense are you talking about?" Seventeenth Master scolded anxiously.
The Eighth Prince's wife acted as if she hadn't heard, and spoke louder and louder: "You've locked up the Eighth Prince just to get rid of him. No matter if he's innocent or not, you won't let him go, will you?"
The Fourth Master's anger seemed to ignite the surrounding air; the astonishing silence made the air roar and tear at everyone's heartbeats.
Fourth Master asked slowly, "Do you think Eighth Prince is innocent?"
"Yes! Eighth Prince is innocent!" Eighth Princess Consort roared hysterically, "It's the Emperor who's afraid of Eighth Prince, you're afraid of his popularity, afraid that his talent surpasses yours, you're afraid that his conspiracy from back then will be exposed by him..."
The Eighth Prince's wife laughed maniacally, pointing at the Fourth Prince with resentment, "So you're determined to kill him!"
Upon hearing this, everyone felt a pang of worry for the Eighth Prince's wife.
Consort Shu, Lanqin, and the others arrived just in time. As they reached the door, they heard the Eighth Prince's voice and were terrified.
Consort Shu stopped and looked at Lanqin hesitantly.
"How could this happen? What a terrible wedding banquet..." Consort Shu said anxiously and regretfully. Lanqin squeezed Consort Shu's hand to comfort her, but the Eighth Prince's wife was already talking to the Fourth Prince, and the room was full of relatives. The women stood outside the door, none of them daring to go forward.
The Fourth Prince stared coldly at the Eighth Prince's wife, his angry face twisted into that of a raging lion: his usually gentle and refined features were terrifyingly ablaze with fury. Lanqin, seeing the Fourth Prince's expression, felt the air around her freeze, and a sense of dread crept in.
"His Majesty is truly angry this time..." Lanqin thought to herself. Seeing the Thirteenth Prince inside, she quickly made a few noises to attract his attention.
As expected, the Thirteenth Prince turned around. Lanqin winked at him, and the Thirteenth Prince reluctantly retreated to Lanqin's side, asking in a low voice, "Sister-in-law, you saw it too, it was Eighth Sister-in-law who caused this trouble..."
"You must think of a solution quickly. The Emperor is really angry this time. If we let the Eighth Princess continue to cause trouble like this, I'm afraid the Emperor will not let her off the hook today..." Lanqin said anxiously, frowning.
The Thirteenth Prince, however, seemed unconcerned: "Sister-in-law, since the Eighth Prince's wife dared to cause such a scene, she must know the consequences. Perhaps the Emperor will get angry and imprison her in the Dali Temple as well, and the couple can be reunited..."
