Chapter 3175 How to Deal with Oneself

"Madam, are you afraid that Lady Su will attract the attention of the Prince?" Zi Xun asked.

“Today, I deliberately tested her to see how much she could tolerate. I thought she would be angry after I said that, but to my surprise, she wasn’t angry at all and could even pretend to be indifferent. She’s really not simple,” Fucha Mingyu said. “She has always been my greatest enemy.”

From the moment she met Ulanara Xueying, she knew that she was a formidable rival. The royal family had no shortage of beautiful women; but equally, beauty was also essential for those who wanted to rise in rank, and Xueying's appearance was enough to threaten her.

Even if the prince wasn't someone who only cared about beauty, a man is still a man, and he would still be interested in beautiful women.

Fortunately, she was the Empress's niece, the niece of Hongli's mother's greatest enemy, which was her fatal weakness.

“Madam, it seems that Lady Gao is trying to curry favor with you. Lady Su, please observe her further. If she becomes unruly, I will find a way to make her understand who the master of this inner court is.”

After leaving the main courtyard, Madam Gao and Madam Su bowed to Xueying and said, "Your concubines respectfully see off Consort Xueying."

Xueying nodded slightly, then helped her maid A'luo leave first.

The Gao and Su families lagged behind.

Their maidservants held the rewards that the Fujin had just given them. Madam Gao said, "The Fujin is clearly slapping the Consort in the face. She gave rewards to the two of them but not to the Consort, and she's even implying that the Consort is dressed too extravagantly today."

Lady Su listened silently, without uttering a word. This concubine gave her a strange feeling; she didn't know how to treat her. Self-preservation was always the survival rule in the inner court.

Gao noticed that she was restless and asked, "Sister, sister, what are you thinking about?"

Su came to her senses and said, "It's nothing. What did you just say?"

Lady Gao, without suspecting anything, said, "What I mean is, we should keep our distance from the concubine in the future, otherwise it will be difficult to avoid being resented by the main wife."

Ms. Su nodded. "Okay, I understand. I have some things to do. Let's go back quickly!" After saying that, the two of them went back to their respective places.

On the way back to the courtyard, A'Luo said, "Master, the steward has sent us a few new maids. They're in the study. Would you like to go and take a look?"

Xueying nodded and followed A'luo to the study room in the East Courtyard.

"Hey, have you heard? Our concubine doesn't like the prince." A maid said.

“Oh, I heard that too. If we’re assigned to her place, I’m afraid we won’t have many good days ahead,” another maid said.

Before Xueying and A'luo even entered the room, they heard several maids inside talking amongst themselves.

"What nonsense are you spouting here? We're all here to serve the concubine, so don't gossip," a gruff maid said.

Xueying said to A'luo, "I won't go in. Bring me the maid who scolded them. The others can do some chores in the courtyard. There's no need to bring them to me."

After saying that, Xueying turned and walked towards her room.

A'Luo turned around and kicked open the door to the meditation room, interrupting the chatter of the maids inside.

"Who was it that just said not to gossip?" A'Luo glanced around disdainfully, making the maids who had previously complained about the lack of favor in the East Courtyard lower their heads and dare not meet her gaze.
