Chapter 3389 Torrential Rain

On the road to the northwest, the soldiers traveled day and night.

Several carriages were mixed in with this group of over three thousand people. Several more carriages followed behind, pulling supplies, including food and water.

On this day, the army marched to a section of rugged terrain.

It was still raining heavily, and the entire marching team was exhausted. Some people even fell into the mud and had difficulty getting up.

Suddenly, the wheels of a supply wagon got stuck in a mud pit. Seeing that the rain was too heavy, the Seventeenth Prince ordered the entire army to stop and take shelter from the rain, while he and a few soldiers went to get the wagon out.

Hongli, unwilling to rest, followed the Seventeenth Prince to the back of the column. The soldiers in the front column sought shelter under large trees or rocks to avoid the rain.

The carriage that Xueying was riding in was driven to the foot of a large tree, but rain was still dripping from the bushes.

"Master, are you hungry? Would you like some snacks?" A'Luo and Xueying were sitting in the carriage, both of them tired and hungry.

"I'm not hungry. If you are, you can eat something. I want to go out and have a look around," Xueying said.

Seeing that Xueying wasn't eating, A'luo knew she couldn't possibly eat either, so she said, "Master, it's raining so hard outside, why are you going out?"

"I want to go check on the car behind us. Didn't we bring oilcloth umbrellas? Let's take them out!" Xueying said.

“Master, you probably won’t be of any help going out like this. Maybe the Prince will see you and say you’ve caused him trouble,” A’Luo pouted.

It turned out that Hongli hadn't spoken a word to Xueying along the way. When he saw her get out of the car, he told her not to wander around aimlessly, so as not to cause any trouble.

"Don't gossip, go get the umbrella," Xueying said.

The two stepped down from the carriage, and the large raindrops outside immediately splashed and soaked Xueying's skirt.

"Master, the rain is too heavy," A'luo said.

"Let's go take a look!" Xueying still refused to give up, pulling A'luo along and holding an umbrella as they walked towards the back of the group. Along the way, she saw many soldiers standing in the rain, without any shelter.

"A'Luo, go find the people in the kitchen," Xueying said loudly to A'Luo. "Have them find a place to shelter from the rain, set up a pot, take out some ginger, and boil some ginger water. These soldiers are bound to catch a cold from being soaked in the rain like this. We should quickly boil some ginger water for them to drink to prevent them from catching a cold."

A'Luo had no choice but to open another umbrella and go find someone from the kitchen. Xueying, holding an umbrella herself, walked towards the car stuck in the mud.

They saw the Seventeenth Prince leading several soldiers to lift a cart out of the mud pit. Hongli joined the soldiers, and they were both soaked.

Seeing this, Xueying ran behind Hongli, wanting to hold an umbrella for him, but before she could get there, she suddenly slipped and fell to the ground.

As everyone was lifting the car, Xueying suddenly slipped and fell. Hongli turned around and saw that it was Xueying.

"Why are you here?" Hongli frowned instinctively. "Go back now!"

Xueying was a little dizzy from the fall, and the umbrella in her hand was blown away by the wind.

"Go and help her up, Hongli," the Seventeenth Prince said to Hongli, unable to bear the sight any longer.

Hongli had no choice but to put down what he was holding and run over to help Xueying up.

"I told you not to run around!" Hongli walked to Xueying's side and helped her up, who was kneeling on the ground and soaked to the bone.
