Chapter 3392 Stargazing

The rain gradually stopped, and darkness fell. They were marching through the mountains and fields. Because of the heavy rain, the roads had become extremely slippery, so the Seventeenth Prince ordered them to eat and spend the night on the spot and not to continue their march.

The soldiers in the kitchen set up large pots and began to cook soup and rice. The soldiers rested on the spot, each carrying spare clothes, and changed into their new clothes. Because they had drunk ginger soup in time, no one felt unwell.

The kitchen staff received orders from the Seventeenth Prince to prepare some food that would keep everyone full and warm, so they started cooking mutton soup.

A fragrant aroma began to waft through the air. After the heavy rain, the sky in the mountains and fields was exceptionally clear and bright, and the stars in the sky sparkled like tiny diamonds.

"Master, look! The stars in the sky are so beautiful. We never saw such beautiful stars when we were in the manor before." A'Luo and Xueying sat on the carriage shaft, looking up at the stars.

"It's said that the sky in these mountains is just like this. It's brighter than the sky in our city. There are too many people living in the city, and too many lights on the ground, so you can't see the stars in the sky. Here, there's no one around, and you can hear all the birds, insects, and cicadas chirping clearly," Xueying said.

"My lady, I'm hungry. I'll go check if the mutton soup is ready yet," A'Luo said, swallowing hard as she smelled the aroma in the air.

"Go and see. Look at you, so greedy! It's really funny. You're a young lady who hasn't even married yet," Xueying said, trying not to laugh.

A'Luo stuck out her tongue, then jumped off the carriage shaft and headed towards the makeshift kitchen.

Xueying sat alone on the carriage shaft, looking up at the stars in the sky.

Hongli led his soldiers on patrols. After leaving the army, he was eager to hone his skills at the grassroots level and specifically asked the Seventeenth Prince to treat him like an ordinary soldier.

Hongli and several soldiers, carrying swords, patrolled the area around the encampment. As he passed Xueying's carriage, he saw her leaning against the carriage shaft, looking up at the stars.

Years later, Hongli still remembered Xueying leaning against the carriage looking at the stars.

"Go take a look over there!" Hongli couldn't help but stop and say to the others.

After they left, Hongli stood there without approaching, looking in the direction Xueying was looking.

"Your Highness~"

A'Luo returned carrying a large box of mutton soup and saw Hongli standing there, so she went up to him and called out.

When Hongli was spotted by A'luo, he coughed awkwardly a few times and said, "I'm patrolling here. Why aren't you serving your master? What are you doing running around like this?"

"I went to serve the soup to my master. Your Highness, were you looking at my master just now?" A'luo asked with a smile.

"Ahem, I was just looking at the stars. Can't I just stand here?" Hongli's face turned red with anxiety.

“But shouldn’t you look up when you look at the stars? Prince was clearly looking in the direction of my master just now!” Aro said.

"I'm leaving now, you should go back quickly." Hongli immediately turned and left.

“Yes, Your Highness, you could actually go and watch the stars with the Princess.” A’Luo called out to Hongli’s retreating figure.

Hongli walked even faster.

A Luo, carrying the soup and humming a little tune, returned to Xue Ying's place.

"Master, guess who I just saw?" A'Luo said excitedly.

“Your Highness?” Xueying glanced at A Luo and said, “You were making so much noise over there, I heard it all.”
