Chapter 3394 A'Luo is Bold and Careful

A'Luo was going to have the army doctor prepare medicine, so Hongli stayed by Xueying's side.

"No, no!" Xueying said incoherently.

Hongli watched as her face flushed red with fever, her hands flailing wildly in the air.

This was the first time Hongli had looked at her so closely; he had never dared to look at her directly before.

Xueying is indeed very beautiful; any man who sees her would probably be captivated.

"If only you weren't from the Ulanara family," Hongli thought to himself.

The medicine was brought over, but it wasn't easy for A'Luo to serve Xueying the medicine by herself.

"My lord, please, help me sit up. I can't feed her medicine while she's lying flat like this," A'luo said.

Hongli nodded and picked Xueying up in his arms. He held Xueying's body against his chest.

A Luo was busy feeding Xue Ying the medicine, but fortunately Xue Ying cooperated and ate all the medicine little by little.

After the medicine was administered, A'luo said to Hongli, "Your Highness, I'll stay here and watch over you. You should go and rest."

Hongli settled Xueying down and, noticing that her blanket was not thick enough, said to A'luo, "Go and bring me my blanket as well."

A Luo nodded and hurriedly went to fetch Hongli's blanket.

“My lord, what will you do if you run out of blankets?” A’luo suddenly realized. “It’s quite cold in the mountains at night. If you catch a cold, my master will be worried about you.”

Hongli wanted to strangle A'luo, who spoke so bluntly, and said coldly, "I'm not that fragile."

A'luo suddenly said, "Your Highness, why don't you make do with this and squeeze in with the master here? I'll stay with you for the night. I'm tough and can handle it."

Hongli immediately turned and left, saying, "Take good care of your master."

After saying those words, Hongli disappeared into the night.

"Where did I say something wrong? You mean well but have no heart. Our mistress is your concubine, after all," A'luo said to thin air.

Hongli returned to his carriage, where it was indeed a bit cold.

The night is long, especially the cold night.

The next morning, Xueying was awakened by the call of a cuckoo.

She felt warm all over, and A Luo was sleeping soundly beside her. She remembered that she had a fever last night, and A Luo must have been busy all night. So she let her sleep a little longer.

Xueying carefully crawled out from under the blanket.

She dressed herself and then jumped out of the carriage.

Xueying stretched out a big yawn and looked around; it was still quiet.

Wisps of smoke rose from the kitchen; the others had not yet risen.

Xueying wanted to go to the kitchen to get some hot water; A'luo was still asleep, so she had to take care of herself.

Xueying took out the basin that A'luo usually used from the box of miscellaneous items under the carriage.

When they arrived at the kitchen, Xueying saw a large iron pot hanging over a fire.

She had never been to a place like this before; she had always been waited on hand and foot.

Xueying was in a dilemma; she didn't know how to lift the scalding hot pot lid.

"Don't take it, it'll burn your hands," a young eunuch suddenly said from behind Xueying.

Xueying turned around and saw that it was the eunuch who served Hongli.

"Are you here to fetch water for your master?" Xueying stepped aside, gesturing for him to come and fetch water.

"Yes, Your Highness didn't sleep well last night and even squeezed into my side." The little eunuch said, picking up a stick from the ground to pry open the pot lid.
