Pichu nodded. Although nothing could be seen in the darkness, Xueying could sense his nod.
Xueying hadn't taken off her clothes, so she got up from the bed and crawled out of the tent with Pichu.
Pikachu seemed to have night vision; he moved freely in the darkness, seemingly unaffected by it. Xueying followed behind him, and they quickly passed through several tents.
"Master, it seems that Prince Bellor lives here." Pichu led Xueying to a tent and said in a low voice.
"How can you be sure this belongs to Prince Beile?" Xueying asked in a low voice.
“Go in and see for yourself,” Pichoo said.
Before Xueying could react, he had already lifted a corner of the tent and crawled inside.
"Hey!" Xueying called out in a low voice, but Pikachu had already climbed inside.
With no other option, Xueying had to climb in as well.
After Pichu lit a tinderbox, Xueying used the light to see the person lying on the bed, and it was indeed Hongli.
Xueying had to admire Pichu's ability. By the dim light of the fire, she walked to Hongli's bedside and was about to reach out to push him when the person on the bed suddenly rolled over and grabbed Xueying's outstretched hand.
"ah!"
A sharp pain shot through her arm. Xueying screamed in agony, and Hongli, recognizing her voice, immediately released his grip. But Pichu pounced on him, yanking Hongli off the bed.
With a thud, he landed heavily on the ground, feeling as if he were seeing stars.
"Stop fighting, Your Highness, Huns have come in. They seem to be looking for someone," Xueying said in a low voice in the darkness.
Hongli got up from the ground and snorted, "The kid's skills are pretty good."
“I’m not a brat,” Pichu retorted defiantly.
"Alright, you're not a brat. Now I'll ask you to protect your master properly. Can you do that?" Hongli asked.
“Of course I can do it,” Pichoo said confidently.
“Alright, now take her out of here and find a safe place to hide,” Hongli said.
"Your Highness, what should we do now?" Xueying asked hurriedly, understanding Hongli's meaning.
“I have someone with me, but I’m afraid they won’t be able to take care of you, so I asked him to take you to hide first,” Hongli said. He knew Xueying came because she was worried about him, and a warm feeling washed over him.
"Your Highness, they are very skilled, you must be careful," Xueying said, still worried.
"Father has prepared secret guards for me, so don't worry. Pichu, take your master and hide first," Hongli said.
Xueying had no choice but to follow Pichu out of the tent. She only knew to follow this thirteen-year-old boy, and eventually the two of them hid under a haystack.
Soon, Xueying heard the sounds of swords and spears clashing, and then the voices of people gradually increased.
"Picchu, how can you move freely in the dark without a light?" Xueying asked in a low voice to Pichu, who was lying beside her.
“That’s because I have the eyes of a wolf. Wolves can ambush in the dark and move freely in the night,” Pichu said.
"A wolf's eyes?" Xueying asked, puzzled.
“Sister, I don’t know why I can move freely in the dark, but I’ve had it since I was little. My mother said that wolves can move at night,” Pichu said.
