Chapter 3410 There is a traitor

"Cough cough, I might choke to death before I bleed to death," Hongli said, his face turning red from coughing.

Xueying wished she could disappear into a hole in the ground and quickly helped Hongli pat his back.

When Hongli finally stopped coughing, Xueying looked up at him shyly.

"Master, how did you get injured? Where are the guards?" Xueying quickly changed the subject.

A flicker of fear and surprise flashed in Hongli's eyes.

“There’s a traitor!” Hongli uttered these three words.

"What? Your Highness, what exactly happened?" Xueying asked in surprise.

"Among the four secret guards sent by Father Emperor, there was a traitor. He must have colluded with them to allow them to bypass the checkpoints and break in. I was injured by one of those guards," Hongli said bitterly.

Xueying's mouth dropped open in astonishment. She couldn't believe it and said, "How could this be? They were all loyal to Father Emperor!"

“Everyone has weaknesses. Seventeenth Uncle has already informed Father Emperor through Fei Ge. The four secret guards that Father Emperor sent back then have all disappeared. We still don’t know who the traitor is, or how many of Father Emperor’s secret guards are still trustworthy,” Hongli said.

"Master, please rest well. Don't think about anything now, just focus on getting better!" Xueying comforted him. "Do you have anyone you suspect?"

"Do you have any suspects?" Hongli asked, staring at Xueying.

The two stared at each other, as if trying to find each other's bottom line through their confrontational gazes.

"I don't know, my aunt never mentioned anything. But the one most likely to harm Grandpa is probably my aunt," Xueying said helplessly.

"Could the Empress's influence extend into Father Emperor's secret guards? I think it's probably not the Empress," Hongli said. Xueying's undisguised gaze just now made him feel inexplicably comfortable.

"Who could it be? Father Emperor only has three adult princes. If it's not my aunt, who else could have such influence?" Xueying frowned.

“Perhaps there are still places we don’t know about,” Hongli said.

Seeing that Hongli's expression had turned sour, Xueying said, "My lord, don't speak. I'll go get you something to eat. You urgently need to nourish your body right now."

Hongli was indeed very weak. He nodded and gently closed his eyes to sleep.

Xueying emerged from the tent and said to Pichu, "Pichu, as your master, I instruct you to protect Lord Baylor, do you understand?"

Pichu nodded and gave Xueying a gesture of assurance that it would be done.

Xueying went to find the kitchen with peace of mind. She asked several people before she finally found it, only to find that it was full of boiled beef and mutton, which was not suitable for the patient to eat at all.

"What should we do? Grandpa should eat something warm and nourishing to replenish his blood. These beef and mutton are too hot; eating them will only hinder the healing of his wounds," Xueying muttered to herself.

After thinking for a while, Xueying grabbed a woman who looked like a cook and asked, "Do you have millet or wheat beans here?"

She thought for a moment and said, "There is only barley flour, beef and mutton here, and the military rations that have been transported here are all flour."

"Flour will do. Quickly make me some dumplings that are suitable for patients to eat, and add a little bit of beef inside," Xueying had no choice but to say.

"No, I still have to cook for Dajun." The cook clearly didn't know who was standing in front of her and waved her hand.

"If you say no again, try it!" Xueying angrily pulled the dagger from her waist and shouted at the cook.
