Chapter 3443 War Has Arrived

The three returned to the military camp, only to find it in complete disarray, with all the soldiers dressed in uniform and heading in the same direction. Upon seeing this, Hongli quickly dismounted and stopped a soldier, asking, "What happened?"

Upon seeing that it was Prince Hongli, the visitor hurriedly replied, "Prince Hongli, where have you been? Something has happened at the front!" Hongli blamed himself, realizing that he shouldn't have left the camp without permission. With such a serious incident, he was still enjoying himself outside.

"Pichu, you stay here and watch over Xueying. I'm going to the front lines to see if there's anything I can help with." Pichu nodded, and Hongli looked at Xueying with concern. "Take care of yourself!"

Although Xueying was worried that Hongli, still recovering from his illness and having traveled all day, would have to go to war again and might get into trouble, she knew that as a general, his soldiers needed him most. She only needed to reassure him. "Hongli, go ahead. Pichu will take good care of me! Be careful on your journey!" Hongli then mounted his horse and headed for the front lines.

"Consort, let's go back!" Xueying nodded and followed Pichu back to the tent. Pichu stood guard outside the tent to prevent anyone from barging in.

Xueying tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. The sounds of horses' hooves and soldiers' footsteps outside never ceased. Xueying was filled with anxiety, fearing that something might have happened to Hongli outside.

Xueying couldn't sleep, so she went out to check on the situation and saw Pichu still standing at the door. "Pichu, how is the situation?" Pichu was dozing off and was startled awake by Xueying's voice. "Consort, why did you come out? I think most of the soldiers have returned, and the Prince should be back soon. You should go inside and rest!"

Looking at the exhausted Pichu, Xueying knew he had had a long day, so she urged him to rest. "Pichu, now that the soldiers are back, you should go back and rest. I'll be fine!"

Pichu was still worried. "Consort, I'm fine. I'll wait here for the Prince to return. You should go inside!" With that, he pushed Xueying back into the tent. He then continued standing guard, yawning.

Xueying sat on the edge of the bed, lost in thought. The prince's injuries had almost healed. Should she return to the palace? She couldn't help him here and was always making him worry.

In the middle of the night, Hongli returned looking exhausted and quietly lay down beside Xueying. Xueying was a light sleeper and was naturally startled awake. She turned her head in surprise, and only after seeing it was the Prince did she feel relieved. "Hongli, you're back... How are you?"

Hongli reached out and hugged Xueying, pressing his head against her chest. "Xueying, I'm going to the front lines tomorrow to transport supplies..." Xueying's heart clenched painfully. So soon...was she leaving? Being a woman and lacking martial arts skills, she certainly couldn't go. Xueying stroked his head and whispered, "Your Highness, please be careful on your journey!"

Hongli looked up at the person in front of him. Even though he was sad and worried, he had to put on a smiling face so as not to worry himself.

Hongli himself knew all too well that going to the front lines would be fraught with danger, and if anything were to happen to him, he would never see Xueying again... He only regretted not getting to know this woman sooner, not... not falling in love with her sooner!

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. Xueying, you stay here. Pichu will take good care of you, and I'll be at ease," Hongli said.
