Chapter 3455 The Heartless Ushiha

The following day, Ushiha sent the children to Changchun Palace. The two children were a boy named Goger, who was three years old, and a girl named Sasar, who was only one year old. Both were names from Dayuan.

"Mother, your son is about to go to Dayuan with the prince consort, and I entrust the children to your care!" Wuxiha brought the two children to Lanqin.

"Grandmother!" Gogel, holding Sasar's hand, greeted Lanqin. Gogel's eyes were bright and piercing, his black pupils exceptionally clear. Sasar was still small, chubby, with wide-open eyes, his pink little hands waving around in the air, seemingly fiddling with something.

Lanqin was delighted to see her two grandsons. "Goger, Sasar, come to your grandmother!" The last time she saw them was when Ushiha had just given birth to Sasar.

Gogel puffed out his chest and stepped forward. Lanqin picked him up and weighed him in her arms. "This little guy looks thin, but he's quite heavy!" Sasar exclaimed as he hid in Ushiha's arms.

"This child is always shy around strangers, unlike me at all!" Ushiha scoffed, holding Sasar, who was still crawling on the ground. "And you're one to talk! You were shy around strangers when you were little, you'd even run away from your father!"

Ushiha was shocked. How could this be? She didn't seem afraid of strangers at all; she was afraid of not seeing people! "Mother, it's natural to be afraid of Father. He's so dignified and serious; even children are afraid of him." Ushiha thought that she hadn't seen Father smile much in her daily life.

Lanqin thought Wuxiha was still angry about yesterday's unpleasantness, "Wuxiha, don't blame your father, he was just worried about your safety, that's why..."

“Mother, why would I be angry? I know Father is doing this for my own good, but I’m all grown up now and have my own opinions and ideas.” Ushiha didn’t want to be treated like a child who hadn’t grown up yet.

Lanqin asked Nianxia and Chunxi to take the two children away to play, as she wanted to talk to Wuxiha about going to Dayuan. "Wuxiha, are you really sure? Abandoning two such young children to go to Dayuan?"

Ushiha's attitude was firm: "Mother, I've made up my mind. Besides, if I leave the children with you, I won't have to worry about them!"

Lanqin sighed. Wuxiha's temperament was exactly like the Fourth Prince's—stubborn to the extreme! "You're so heartless. Not only are you abandoning the children, but you're also leaving your mother and father behind!" Although Lanqin respected Wuxiha's opinion, she was still extremely worried.

When Ushiha heard Lanqin say this, he was both amused and annoyed. "Mother, it's not as dangerous as you all say! Just think of this trip as me going to Dayuan for a visit and to see my husband's home!"

Lanqin shook her head. No matter what she said, Wuxiha wouldn't listen, so she might as well let her go in peace. "Since you've made up your mind, your mother won't say anything more. You and your husband must be careful on your journey and remember to send letters back so your mother knows how you are doing."

Lanqin suddenly remembered that her mother always gave her the same advice whenever she went on a trip. At the time, she didn't take it seriously, but now that she is a parent herself, she realizes how worried and reluctant they were to let her go.

Ushiha promised to take good care of himself. "Mother, you and Father Emperor must also take good care of yourselves in the palace!" Ushiha felt a pang of sadness seeing his mother and father's increasingly aged faces.
