Chapter 3554 Arrested

Three days later, the heavy snow showed no sign of stopping.

On the Qing army's side.

"Tomorrow night, Seventeen will lead five thousand troops to the woods. Be careful not to alert the enemy." Fourth Master marked the woods on the map.

"Um."

Fourth Master then looked at Thirteenth Master, "Thirteenth Master, you need to rein in your temper. This time, the ambush on the hillside depends on you. As soon as Seventeenth Master gives the signal, charge over immediately."

Thirteen said, "Don't worry, Your Majesty, I will behave myself this time."

"That's good." Fourth Master patted Thirteen on the shoulder.

"Should I take the rest of the army with me?" Thirteen asked.

“Don’t take them all. Leave at least ten thousand as a precaution,” Hongli said, stepping forward.

“Indeed, Hongli is right. If the military camp is destroyed, all our efforts will be in vain. We must defend the military camp.”

"Have the spies found out anything?" Emperor Hongli asked, turning his head at the Seventeenth Court.

Hongli shook his head. "Currently, they are using hemp grass for the warhorses in the military camp in order to prepare for the war."

"Using warhorses in heavy snow is probably to prevent them from slipping; I doubt they have much of a chance of winning," Thirteen laughed.

Fourth Master frowned slightly. "Not necessarily. We all need to be careful."

The Qing army lit a fire in their imperial tent at night, and everyone put on armor and sat around the fire.

"Seventeen, is the army you brought ready?" Fourth Master asked.

"It's all ready."

"What about Thirteen?"

"Ready."

“Very good. Hongli, you will stay here to guard the camp with me in case of any potential problems.”

Hongli nodded: "Okay."

"Remember this battle: do not let the enemy break into the camp; protect it to the death."

"Seventeen, be careful and don't panic." Fourth Master instructed Seventeen before he left, and then looked at Thirteen, "Remember, if there is no signal from Seventeen on the hillside, do not act rashly."

Seventeen led his troops, carrying skis, on a long detour. In the dark of night, braving the swirling rain and snow, they reached the woods and laid an ambush.

Fourth Prince, Hongli has 10,000 soldiers stationed in the military camp, while Thirteenth Prince leads his troops to ambush on the hillside.

Meanwhile, the foreign tribes were also mobilizing their troops. They planned to launch a surprise attack on the Qing army's rear, and arranged for bearded soldiers to lead their troops to ambush the Qing army's camp early on.

When Seventeen saw the local army approaching, he sensed something was wrong; the enemy's numbers seemed rather small.

Without a second thought, at a command, Qing soldiers leaped out of the withered grass beneath the trees.

Giroud knew he was in trouble; they had been lying in ambush all along.

"Kill them!"

The two armies clashed. The Qing soldiers wore armor, while the foreigners wore strange costumes. The entire forest was filled with painful screams and the sound of blood splattering.

Another group of foreign troops arrived on the mountain, preparing to launch a surprise attack on the military camp.

With a loud bang, it turned out that the hillside where Thirteen was stationed had collapsed, and snow-covered stones rolled down.

Thirteen felt a sense of unease and worried for Seventeen.

"Report! The military camp has been attacked by the enemy!"

Because of the emergency and the fact that the hillside was collapsing, Thirteen quickly descended the hillside.

Heavy snow blocked the way, and the 17th Army, outnumbered, was wiped out in no time.

Upon arriving at the military camp, the enemy was caught off guard by the Qing army's return and was immediately defeated.

Upon seeing that the bearded man was the leader, Thirteen kicked him, shouting, "You scoundrel! You're really bold to dare to break into the military camp!"

They captured the bearded general on the spot.

Fourth Master was also in full armor. "Leave the hostages; Seventeen has been captured."
