Just as the Fourth Prince and his men were rejoicing over the arrival of the Dayuan reinforcements, the very people who brought them joy were encamped in a sheltered spot on a grassland, three days' horse journey from the Qing Dynasty's camp. Dayuan was a unique people; their clothing was very distinctive, and they loved to adorn themselves with tassels and knots. The daughters of Dayuan were all incredibly skillful, always able to transform these cumbersome little things into something special.
It was dusk, the sun was setting, and the soldiers outside were eating in twos and threes, while the generals sat casually outside—a testament to the carefree nature of the Dayuan people. Among the various tents, the tallest one was the most eye-catching.
Inside the tent, a man clad in silver-white armor was examining a sheepskin map. He was handsome, with a serene yet sharp gaze. If asked about his identity, he was none other than the Qing Dynasty's imperial son-in-law, the husband of the Fourth Prince and Lanqin's eldest daughter, Ushiha, and Prince Suhar of the Great Ferghana Kingdom.
Just as Suhar was about to sketch on the sheepskin map, he was suddenly hugged from behind. Without turning around, he knew that the audacious person was his wife, Ushiha. Ushiha was wearing light armor, which Suhar had personally chosen; although thin, it was very sturdy and not easily damaged.
“Father, in three more days, we will be able to see our Emperor.” Ushiha softened his voice and whispered in Suhar’s ear.
Suhar's ears were a sensitive spot, and Ushiha's outburst nearly made him collapse to the ground. After barely managing to regain his balance, Suhar felt he had lost face, so he walked away with a stiff face, trying to speak in a calm voice: "This time, the trip back to Dayuan to ask for reinforcements went relatively smoothly."
Ushiha tilted his head and said proudly, "Don't you even see whose good lady is going to take action?"
Suhar met her gaze, observing her free and easy demeanor, and noticing her masculine handsomeness. He suddenly recalled how Ushiha had debated with a group of scholars in Dayuan, leaving his father and others completely convinced. He couldn't help but smile, and he pulled Ushiha into his arms, laughing loudly, "The princess of the Qing Dynasty is indeed extraordinary."
Asking for reinforcements wasn't exactly difficult—they did manage to get them—but it was certainly not easy either. If Ushiha and Suhar hadn't gone to see their father together that day, perhaps there wouldn't be this vast and mighty army of reinforcements marching like a tidal wave.
The scene of meeting his father that day was still vivid in Suhar's mind, and he could not forget it even if he wanted to.
He was entrusted by the Qing emperor to return to the Dayuan Dynasty to seek help, but no matter how he pleaded, the Dayuan emperor and his court officials had no intention of helping the Qing, with whom he had little relationship. Although the reward promised by the Qing emperor was enough to tempt the Dayuan emperor, it was only a fleeting thought. The opposition from the ministers and the crown prince prevented the Dayuan emperor from taking any real action.
The Dayuan region had always been peaceful, and the court officials, having grown complacent, had forgotten the former ferocity of the Dayuan people. They vehemently opposed sending troops, fearing that intervening would bring war to Dayuan. However, the Dayuan crown prince, about to ascend the throne, was determined not to hand Dayuan over to him in a state of devastation.
Suhar once thought that the mission entrusted to him by the Qing emperor was about to fail, but his wife, Ushiha, the daughter of the Qing emperor, once again proved to him the special qualities of the Qing people. With her special qualities and the special Qing dynasty, she moved everyone in Dayuan and successfully obtained reinforcements.
