Chapter 3641 Yonglian

On this day, just after the morning court session, Hongli went to the Hall of Mental Cultivation to see the Fourth Prince, intending to ask the Fourth Prince to give his child a nice name.

"Your subject pays respects to Your Majesty," Hongli said, bowing.

The servant was removing the dragon robe embroidered with coiled dragons from the Fourth Prince's robe. The Fourth Prince wanted to ask Hongli why he had come to the palace to see him so excitedly today.

"Is something wrong, Hongli?" Fourth Prince looked up at him and asked.

"Ying," Hongli stood up. "Father, Mingyu's baby has been born, and although the baby has been given a third-day celebration, it still doesn't have a name." Hongli's words were undoubtedly a legitimate request for the Fourth Prince to name the child.

The Fourth Prince smiled and said, "So that's what it was about. Let me discuss it with your mother privately and give the child a name."

He had been thinking about this for a long time and planned to discuss it with Lanqin.

"Then thank you, Father Emperor." Hongli curtsied and happily withdrew.

In the early afternoon, the Fourth Prince arrived at Changchun Palace. The two sat on the couch, and Lanqin served some of the Fourth Prince's favorite pastries, saying with a smile, "The Emperor has arrived."

"I've come here to discuss with you the name of Hongli's eldest son." The Fourth Prince narrowed his eyes and smiled affectionately.

Lanqin pondered for a moment and said, "I think it would be better for Your Majesty to decide this matter."

"In that case, I will take it myself." The Fourth Prince pondered for a moment, then said, "Let's name him Yonglian."

Hongli's eldest son, Yonglian, was born in the eighth year of Yongzheng's reign. Lanqin trembled slightly and smiled, "Let's keep this name."

History flashed through my mind: Yonglian died in the third year of Qianlong's reign at the age of nine, and was posthumously named Crown Prince.

She sighed inwardly. This was her grandson, but she was afraid she couldn't change his fate of dying young.

"I'll have dinner here tonight," the Fourth Prince said, picking up a piece of his favorite pastry and putting it in his mouth. "The pastries from your Changchun Palace are getting more and more delicious."

Lanqin smiled and said, "Your Majesty flatters me. The chefs in my Changchun Palace are exceptionally skilled."

During dinner, the two sat upright and chatted casually. Over the years, every conversation had been so harmonious. Lanqin enjoyed being with Fourth Master in such a comfortable way.

When Hongli returned to the mansion, he came to Mingyu's backyard at 7 PM. He held a drum and teased his son, Yonglian, who hadn't grown any teeth yet. He chuckled and drooled, which made Hongli laugh.

Mingyu, who was also eating melon seeds, watched the father and son and said with a smile, "Why are you back so late from court today?"

In the past, he couldn't wait to come back and see his son after court.

"After court, I went to see my father, the Emperor." Hongli remembered the name and put down the drum.

Sitting beside Mingyu, he asked mysteriously, "Guess what I want with Father Emperor?"

Seeing his mysterious expression, Mingyu asked, "What's wrong? You haven't even thought about your son's name. What business is it of a woman like me to interfere in your affairs of state?"

Hongli picked up Mingyu, scattering melon seeds all over the ground in her hands. He spun her around in his arms and said, "It's all about the name."

Mingyu was taken aback and asked nervously, "How is it? What happened to Father Emperor?"

"I'm waiting for news from Father Emperor and Mother today."

"Hurry up, stop keeping me in suspense."

"Father and Mother discussed it for a long time and decided that our eldest son's name will be Yonglian." Hongli said, preparing to release Mingyu.

Mingyu happily grabbed his hand, "Our child has a name now."

Hongli smiled, and the couple became very affectionate and sweet.
