Chapter 3722 Getting Closer to the Princess Consort

Unlike the harmonious relationship between Keliye and Xueying, Jin, full of arrogance, was very annoyed because Hongli had never visited her courtyard.

Jin Shi had no time to go for a walk. Since marrying into the Prince's Mansion and seeing Hongli in person, she had gained his favor. Every day, she would wait for him in the courtyard. Every morning, she would ask Bi'er to dress her up beautifully. However, for half a month, she had not seen Hongli.

Today, as usual, Jin was in her room, applying makeup in front of the mirror. However, she no longer had the joy and anticipation she had felt a few days ago. Instead, she was very irritable and slammed the hairpin in her hand onto the table.

Seeing Jin Shi's appearance and the somewhat ferocious reflection in the mirror, Bi'er's heart skipped a beat. She cautiously asked, "Is Master dissatisfied?"

Jin asked with some dissatisfaction, "Bi'er, is the Prince currently at the residence?"

"This servant does not know."

"What use are you? You know nothing."

Upon hearing Jin's reprimand, Bi'er quickly said, "Please calm down, my lady. I know I was wrong." After a pause, Bi'er continued, "Why don't we go and pay our respects to the Prince's wife and show her our goodwill? After all, she is pregnant now and can't serve the Prince."

"To curry favor with the Princess Consort..." Madam Jin blinked, secretly thinking that this was a good idea.

Seeing that Jin Shi did not object, Bi'er knew that Jin Shi was also tempted, so she continued, "After all, the Princess Consort is the Prince's legal wife. If you win the Princess Consort's favor, you might have more opportunities."

Upon hearing Bi'er's words, Jin's face lit up with joy, and she praised to others, "Bi'er, your brain is finally of some use."

"Thank you for your praise, Your Highness." Upon hearing Jin's words, Bi'er quickly expressed her gratitude, and then continued, "Since the Princess Consort is pregnant, we can bring some tonics with us. It would be rather impolite to go empty-handed."

After thinking for a moment, Madam Jin slowly said, "Go and get some of the red ginseng that I brought with me as part of my dowry. Red ginseng is better for pregnant women."

"Yes." After saying that, Bi'er went to the storeroom to find the red ginseng from Jin's possession. A little while later, Jin, supported by her maid, went to the main courtyard to pay her respects to Mingyu.

At this moment, Mingyu was not alone in the main courtyard. Madam Gao was also there. The two of them were discussing how to prepare for the Dragon Boat Festival. Madam Gao was reporting the progress of the preparations to Mingyu.

Because Mingyu was pregnant, Hongli was worried that she would overwork herself, so he suggested that she let Gao handle the matters. So, for the Dragon Boat Festival, Mingyu asked Gao to prepare the supplies, and she could come over to report the progress to her on other days.

Just as the two were discussing, a maidservant who was guarding the door came in to announce, "Madam, the new Princess Jin has come to pay her respects."

Upon hearing the maid's words, Mingyu frowned and asked with some doubt, "Why are you here to pay your respects at this hour?"

"Bring her in," Mingyu said, waving her hand at the maid standing in front of her.

"Yes." With that, the maid turned and left.

A moment later, she led Jin Shi and Bi'er in.

"This humble servant greets Your Highness, may Your Highness be blessed." As soon as she entered the room, Madam Jin slightly curtsied and gave a bow to Mingyu.

"Get up," Mingyu said, gesturing for her to sit down.

"Thank you, Madam Jin." Then Madam Jin got up and sat down opposite Madam Gao.
