Ever since Fourth Master left Yan Yu's place halfway through his journey, Chun Tao's life has become very difficult. After Fang Yun was beaten to death, Chun Tao was promoted to become Yan Yu's personal maid, followed by Zhui'er. Naturally, the two of them arranged for the new maids to do some rough work.
Although Chun Tao has been promoted, Yan Yu's temper is getting worse and worse. Coupled with the changes in her body, if that part doesn't recover, she could end up a widow at such a young age.
Childbirth makes that area loose. It's actually quite normal; after such a big baby comes out, it naturally becomes loose and will gradually recover. In the 21st century, there are methods like vaginal tightening surgery, but in today's world, there's nothing that can be done for her situation.
Yan Yu was far from happy. Those two children had brought her no benefit whatsoever; instead, they had turned her into a discarded wife whom even the master no longer visited. Not only the Fourth Prince, but even his wife ignored her. Madam Yin and Madam Wang went to the main courtyard to pay their respects every day, while her own sister was left out. When she went to pay her respects, the wife would only give her cold looks and sarcastic remarks. After a few times, Yan Yu's temper flared, and she simply stopped going altogether.
If the master is unhappy, then the servant will naturally have a bad day.
Sure enough, Chun Tao was scolded by Yan Yu for not combing her hair as well as she had imagined, and was finally pinched hard a few times before being kicked out.
By the time Zhuier went in to serve her, Yan Yu had already calmed down. She was never one to be left out like that.
In other words, she's the kind of person who can't live comfortably without causing trouble. If she were content to live a simple life raising her two children, the Fourth Master wouldn't mistreat her once they grew up. However, this was never what Yan Yu wanted.
"Princess, let me help you style your hair into a wing-like updo," Zhuier said cautiously.
Yan Yu nodded haphazardly. At this moment, her mind was no longer on her hair, but on the two children.
Actually, the reason she lost her temper early this morning was because both of her children had caught a cold last night, and when the wet nurse came to report it, she got really angry.
When a child is sick, it's the most troublesome thing, and as the mother, she naturally has to go and take care of the child.
"Go and tell Chun Tao to inform the Fujin (Prince's wife) and have Doctor Wu come over to examine the young prince and the princess." Yan Yu finally stopped throwing a tantrum.
Not long after, Dr. Wu arrived with his medicine box and Chun Tao.
"This humble servant greets Your Highness!" Doctor Wu quickly bowed. Yan Yu was dressed in a light blue cheongsam, with only a few simple hairpins in her hair and a light layer of powder on her face.
"Dr. Wu, please get up. After examining the two children, I have a private matter I'd like to ask you." Yan Yuxu helped him up.
"Yes, I will tell you everything without reservation," said Doctor Wu.
Yan Yu led Lord Wu, along with two maids, toward the room where the young prince and Hailan lived.
The two babies were only three months old and were both asleep.
Doctor Wu walked to the bedside and began with the youngest princes, examining each one by taking their pulse, observing their tongues and eye sockets, and then checking their nostrils and ears. After doing all this, he also questioned the wet nurses one by one.
“Since last night, the little prince hasn’t been eating much milk and he’s had diarrhea. Princess Hailan is eating less too, but she hasn’t had diarrhea,” said the long-faced wet nurse who was originally in charge of taking care of the little prince.
"Dr. Wu, have the two children caught a cold?" Yan Yu asked hurriedly.
"Judging from their tongue coating and pulse, the young prince and princess have caught a chill. I will prescribe some medicine to dispel wind and cold and reduce internal heat. They should be fine after taking it for three days," said Doctor Wu.
"You all heard that. Chun Tao, go get the medicine. You all need to take better care of the children, or Zhang Mama's fate will be a precedent for you all," Yan Yu said coldly to the wet nurses.
Lord Wu didn't dare to delay. He quickly took out a pen, ink, paper and inkstone from his medicine box at a table in the room and wrote a prescription to dispel the cold and dryness in the child. He then handed it to Chun Tao.
Yan Yu gave a few more instructions, telling the wet nurses and maids to take good care of the young prince and princess, before leaving the room with Doctor Wu.
Zhui'er followed behind, and Yan Yu suddenly said to her, "Zhui'er, go back to that room and look for it. It seems that one of my armors is missing."
Zhui'er, not understanding what was going on, quickly curtsied and went back into the house to look for him.
When Doctor Wu saw Zhui'er leave, he knew that Yan Yu wanted to talk to him about that private matter.
"Dr. Wu, I know you're my elder sister's person. Let's not beat around the bush. You must keep quiet about what I want to ask you," Yan Yu said softly.
"I understand, please give your instructions, Princess Yu." Doctor Wu was naturally unaware that the Fujin and Yan Yu had long been at odds.
"Since giving birth, that part of me has become loose. Is there any way to restore it to its former state?" Yan Yu didn't feel embarrassed to talk about such private matters in front of a man like Doctor Wu, since she didn't consider him a man anyway.
Upon hearing this, Doctor Wu, being a young man, blushed. However, seeing that Yan Yu showed no shame, he could only suppress his shock and stammered, "Your Highness, my knowledge does not involve gynecology. Please consult a doctor specializing in women's health."
Yan Yu was quite disappointed upon hearing this. Seeing that Doctor Wu was bowing and standing at attention and did not seem to want to refuse, she had no choice but to give up.
When Dr. Wu saw Yan Yu signal that he could leave, he felt as if he had been granted a pardon and turned to leave.
Zhuier came out of the room empty-handed and saw Yan Yu standing there alone. Fearing that Yan Yu would scold her, but having no other choice, she went up to her and said, "Reporting to Your Highness, I have searched the room but have not found the armor."
Yan Yu seemed not to have heard her and said, "Zhui'er, why don't you go out and visit your old mother tomorrow? Is that alright?"
Zhui'er didn't understand Yan Yu's meaning, so she quickly said, "My mother passed away a long time ago, and I have no relatives outside."
Yan Yu glanced at the young girl and said coldly, "If I tell you to go see, then go see. I don't care if you really have a mother or not."
Zhui'er was so frightened that she immediately knelt down and said timidly, "Your Highness, I am foolish and please enlighten me."
Yan Yu sighed. If Fang Yun were here, that girl would know what she meant with just a glance.
Little did she know that when Fangyun was beaten to death, she herself wished she could beat her to death immediately.
"Get up and come back with me. I have something to tell you." With that, Yan Yu didn't wait for Zhui'er to get up and quickly walked away. Zhui'er immediately got up and followed Yan Yu.
