Chapter 572 Incitement

After leaving the South Courtyard, the Third Prince naturally did not return to the front courtyard, but went directly to the West Courtyard.

At the time, I really couldn't accept it, so I just left the letter with Madam Yin.

When the Third Prince arrived at Madam Yin's house, he organized the words in his mind before walking in as usual.

The room was pitch black, and sometimes the Third Prince found it difficult to adjust to the darkness in Lady Yin's room. The beautiful Lady Yin lived in this dimly lit room.

“Third Prince, you’ve arrived!” came Yin’s weak voice from inside the house.

"Aunt Yin, where are you? What's wrong?" The Third Prince sensed that something was wrong with Madam Yin, so he called out towards her bedroom.

"Third Prince, come here and bring me a cup of tea, okay?" Madam Yin's voice sounded somewhat weak.

Seeing that there were no servants in the house, the Third Prince walked towards Madam Yin's bedroom, asking, "Madam, where have all the servants gone?"

When he entered the room, he saw that Madam Yin was indeed ill, lying on the bed, her face pale and very weak.

"Auntie, what's wrong?" the Third Prince asked in surprise.

"It's nothing, I'm just feeling a little unwell. I sent Ye Ying to find Doctor Wu, and Green Pearl to inform the Princess Consort," said Madam Yin.

"Why is everyone so alone, Aunt? Hongjun is with you." The Third Prince was naturally worried when he saw that Madam Yin was ill. He felt that Madam Yin wouldn't harm his mother, since she was under house arrest when his mother's accident happened.

"Third Prince, did you have a good time in the South Courtyard today? It breaks my heart to think that you, at such a young age, have to face the people who harmed your mother all by yourself," said Madam Yin. "When you looked at Madam Niu, it must have been difficult for you, didn't it?"

The Third Prince poured a cup of tea from the table and brought it to Madam Yin, saying, "Aunt, let's not talk about that now. Here, have some water."

Madam Yin stared at the Third Prince's face for a moment, but did not take the cup of water. Instead, she said, "Third Prince, you left the letter your mother gave you with me that day. I think it's a keepsake from your mother, so you should keep it safe."

After saying that, she took the paper out from under her pillow and handed it to the Third Prince.

The Third Prince unconsciously revealed a slight smile. He had been thinking about how to get that letter back from Madam Yin, but now that she had returned it to him on her own initiative, he was naturally happy.

Oh dear~~~

When Madam Yin reached out to him, she accidentally bumped into the teacup in Hongjun's hand, causing it to fall over and wet the edge of the bed.

"Auntie, did you get burned?" Hongjun asked anxiously.

"It's nothing, it's just that your mother's letter got wet. Your aunt is really useless, she's so sick that she doesn't even have the strength to hold a letter." Madam Yin said with a face full of self-reproach, as if it was she who had knocked over the teacup in Hongjun's hand because she was too weak to hold it.

"It's alright, just let it air dry outside," the Third Prince said, looking at Madam Yin with concern.

He picked up the damp letter and unfolded it on the table.

When the Third Prince opened the letter, he found that the writing on it had been completely blurred and was almost illegible.

Hongjun couldn't help but frown. How could anyone possibly decipher the handwriting like this?

Lady Yin leaned against the bed, quietly observing the Third Prince's expression. She noticed that Hongjun was looking at the letter that she had deliberately wet, and she became slightly suspicious. Lady Niu always acted unpredictably. Who knew what she had said to Hongjun again? She destroyed the letter first to avoid causing any trouble.

"Third Prince, I'm so sorry, your aunt has ruined the only keepsake your mother left you," said Madam Yin, looking at the Third Prince's expression.

“Auntie, there’s no need to blame yourself. Hongjun has already read what’s on it.” The Third Prince wiped the water off the paper with his sleeve, then took out his handkerchief, placed the paper on it, and folded the handkerchief up.

"Third Prince, it's getting late, you should go back now. Your aunt is alright, Ye Ying will be back soon anyway," Madam Yin added.

“No, there’s no one to serve you, Auntie. Where are the servants outside?” The Third Prince said as he walked to Madam Yin’s bedside.

"After they finished their work, they naturally went to their rooms to rest, and I didn't want to call them in to serve them," Madam Yin said with a smile.

“Then Hongjun will stay with his aunt and wait for the doctor to arrive,” the Third Prince insisted.

“If you don’t go back to the front yard, your father will worry. Go back,” Madam Yin urged again.

"Father shouldn't be in the front yard. I'll go back later, it's fine." The Third Prince naturally knew that the Fourth Prince should be with Lanqin at the moment.

A hint of unease flashed across Madam Yin's face as she said softly, "Oh, it must be with Consort Niu. Third Prince, Consort Niu's belly is quite big now. After she gives birth, she'll probably be even more favored by your father than she is now."

The Third Prince nodded and said, "Auntie, Princess Niu was also very good to Hongjun. I really didn't expect her to harm Mother?"

Suppressing her jealousy and hatred, Madam Yin said softly, "Third Prince, don't think that just because she's good to you, she won't harm your mother. That letter was written in your mother's own handwriting. Hongjun, do you want to avenge your mother?"

The Third Prince hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

Seeing that the time was ripe, Madam Yin quickly said, "Hongjun, if Lady Niu gives birth to a son, I'm afraid your father will promote her rank. Then it will be even more difficult to avenge your mother."

The Third Prince looked at Madam Yin and said with difficulty, "Does Madam mean that we shouldn't let her give birth to the child now?"

Madam Yin nodded, noticing a flicker of fear in the Third Prince's eyes, and said, "Hongjun, do you want to avenge your mother?"

The Third Prince nodded. "But Hongjun is too young, what can he do?"

Madam Yin said, "Hongjun, sometimes, if you want someone to be unable to give birth, you only need to add a little something to their food, and it will have the desired effect."

The Third Prince felt a chill in his heart. He looked at Madam Yin with a hint of fear. He had always thought of her as a kind and gentle woman, but now she was clearly saying that she wanted him to harm others.

The Third Prince recalled Lanqin's words, but he still couldn't quite believe that the woman before him would have any ulterior motives towards him. Yet, Lady Yin was clearly instigating him to murder Lady Niu.

"What's wrong, Third Prince?" Madam Yin asked, noticing that Hongjun seemed a little dazed.

"No, it's nothing. I just don't know how to obtain that thing that Auntie mentioned?" the Third Prince asked.

“Hongjun, although your aunt is not your mother, she has treated you as her own son. If you want to take revenge on your mother, your aunt will help you,” Madam Yin couldn’t help but say.
