Chapter 812 Stalemate

Cui Niang realized the seriousness of the matter and immediately withdrew.

"Xinyi, Shuhui, would you please go and invite Xiuzhu to my place now? Remember, don't tell her what happened here, and don't say anything else. Just bring her over to see me, understand?" Lanqin said to her two younger sisters.

Although Xinyi and Shuhui didn't know what they had just said, seeing Lanqin's serious expression, they knew they shouldn't ask any more questions.

Meanwhile, when Fourth Master arrived at Eighth Master's tent, he saw Eighth Master and Ninth Master arguing with several guards at the door.

"Fourth Brother, you've come at just the right time. Why do we have to rely on your guards' cues now?" Although Ninth Master and Eighth Master still felt waves of pain in their abdomens, they were men after all, and at this moment they seemed to be doing nothing wrong.

"Looking at my two younger brothers, it seems they're alright now?" Fourth Master observed that Eighth Master and Ninth Master's faces didn't appear pale with pain at all, and they stood before him looking perfectly normal.

"My stomach hurts, but does that mean I have to lie in bed and cry out? Fourth Brother, we need to go back to the manor now and find a doctor to treat us. What do you mean by having people stop us from leaving?" Ninth Master refused to say anything more and just shouted.

"The doctor is already preparing the antidote. It will take you two hours to get back now, and it will be dark in the night. It will take three hours. If my two brothers die from the poison on the way, I really don't know how I will explain it to Father Emperor," the Fourth Prince said sarcastically.

The expressions on the faces of the Eighth and Ninth Princes also became somewhat unsettled. Finally, the Eighth Prince said, "Fourth Brother, have you confirmed that someone has poisoned him? Who would dare to poison a prince of the current dynasty on your estate?"

The Fourth Prince's icy gaze and the Eighth Prince's calm, pitch-black eyes clashed silently in the air, neither willing to back down.

"The doctor is currently examining the poison, and Fourteenth and Seventh are investigating who poisoned them. Tonight, I will give an explanation for this whole matter. Even if Eighth and Ninth Brothers don't want to go back, I will personally send someone to escort them back," Fourth Master said, his gaze chilling as he stared at the two men.

"Hehe, we're going back now, what can you do to us? What, you really want to detain us? Who gave you that right!" Old Nine was indignant when he saw Fourth Master's tough tone and immediately shouted.

The eighth brother's other hand was always behind his back. He gestured to the ninth brother, but still couldn't stop him.

"No one gave me the right to detain you, so what?" Fourth Master stared at Ninth Master and said.

"You!!" Ninth Master was so angry that his face turned red.

Just then, several men rushed over from behind and knelt down before Fourth Master, saying, "Your Majesty, the horses... the horses have all run away. They were all tied up there properly, and for some reason, they all broke free of their reins and ran away."

The person kneeling on the ground was specifically responsible for looking after the horses they had brought. These horses were basically all the horses from Fourth Master's estate, and now they had all run away.

"What? The horses ran away?" Eighth Master exclaimed, a complex expression flashing across his eyes, his face filled with disbelief. The horses were gone, which meant they wouldn't be able to leave this place tonight, no, it would be tomorrow. If they tried to walk, who knew when they'd even reach the city gate?

"You, you did it on purpose, you deliberately let the horse go, didn't you?" Old Nine roared, realizing the seriousness of the situation.

The man kneeling on the ground thought that the Ninth Prince was blaming him, so he didn't dare to look up. He just prostrated himself on the ground and begged for forgiveness, saying, "It was all my fault for not taking good care of the horse. Please punish me, Your Highness."

Fourth Master looked at the person kneeling on the ground, a smile involuntarily appearing on his lips, but his face remained stern as he said, "Hurry up and chase after it. Don't come back to see me if you don't catch the horse."

The man nodded in agreement, quickly got up, turned around, and left.

Fourth Master turned his head and continued looking at Eighth Master and Ninth Master, saying, "Brothers, do you see? There are no horses now. Do you still want to go back?"

Eighth Master and Ninth Master were caught off guard by this sudden turn of events and were momentarily speechless. Ninth Master grunted, turned around, and went into the tent.

Eighth Master remained as gentle and refined as ever. He quickly regained his composure and said, "Fourth Brother always has a way. I believe he can find the antidote soon. I'll be waiting." After saying that, he turned and went into the tent.

After watching them enter the tent, the Fourth Prince said to the guards, "Continue to guard here and do not allow them to wander around."

Meanwhile, Xinyi and Shuhui returned to their own tents, and then they went together to Chen Xiuzhu's tent, where they saw her lying on her bed, with the servants standing respectfully to her side.

"Is my sister asleep?" Xin Yi asked, frowning slightly. She thought to herself: My sister is still suffering from this strange poison, and she doesn't even show any concern. She's so heartless.

"It's my sister." As soon as Xiuzhu heard the voice, she knew it was Xinyi. She suppressed her impatience and turned around, her expression becoming gentle and submissive.

“How can you still be sleeping, little sister? We don’t know what’s going on with your second sister. Why don’t you come with me to check on her?” Xin Yi said.

"Didn't the two sisters already go see her? Besides, we're not doctors; going would only make things worse. We can go see her again after the poison in my cousin's body is gone," Chen Xiuzhu said indifferently.

“Sister, we just went there and told our cousin about your sprained ankle. She was very worried and said you should come over. The doctor is there, so why don't you go together?” Shuhui said when she saw that Xiuzhu was unwilling to go.

Xin Yi was secretly startled, thinking to herself: Shu Hui usually appears shy and docile, but I never expected her to be so adept at lying on the spot.

Chen Xiuzhu looked at the two of them with suspicion, and still declined, saying, "My foot injury is nothing serious, and it's not serious at all. I just need to rest for a while. Cousin, really, why are you still worrying about me at a time like this?" As she spoke, a complicated light flashed in her eyes, but she quickly extinguished it.

"I heard that Eighth Prince and Ninth Prince are going back, and Fourth Prince has already gone to stop them. Alas, I don't know what Eighth Prince and Ninth Prince are thinking. They are poisoned by a strange poison, yet they still want to run around." Seeing that Chen Xiuzhu still refused to go, Xinyi had no choice but to come up with this idea.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Chen Xiuzhu immediately sat up straight and hurriedly asked, "What did you say, Sister? Eighth Master and Ninth Master are leaving?"

Shuhui quickly said, "Yes, they might have already left. Sister, you should come with us to see your cousin about her foot injury. You'll regret it if we delay treatment."
