Chapter 90 Drunken White Tower

Seeing that Fourth Master didn't respond, Lanqin pouted and said, "I'm sorry to have troubled you, Master. Just pretend I didn't say anything."

Fourth Master reached out, lifted Lanqin's chin, looked into her eyes, and said seriously, "If you are missing your mother and father, I will be here for the next two days. I will take some time to accompany you to see them, okay?"

(⊙o⊙)…I just wanted to find a chance to go out and have some fun. If you come with me, how will we have any chance to go out and have some fun? Lanqin let out a wail.

If this were any other woman, having the Fourth Prince personally accompany her back to her parents' home would be an honor she could only dream of.

Seeing Lanqin's surprised expression and the half-smile on her face, Fourth Master narrowed his eyes, then asked with a dark expression, "You want to take advantage of coming home to go out and have some fun, don't you?!"

Oh no, he saw through her. Lanqin immediately sprang up and sat up from Fourth Master's lap.

"My lord, as you know, I have an older sister born out of wedlock who now serves Father Emperor. There are some short-sighted people in the household who do things without any sense of propriety. I went back to visit my mother, hoping to use your prestige to intimidate those sycophantic servants." Lanqin's mind raced, and she immediately remembered Anjia's words. So she told the truth about her mother's situation in the mansion in a tactful way.

Fourth Master was raised by servants since childhood, so how could he not understand the ways of the world? Sometimes, those audacious servants would dare to bully their masters when they were in a bad mood.

“Then I must go back with you to see him. Your father and I don’t usually have much contact, so this trip is also to get to know each other,” Fourth Master said with utmost seriousness.

Suddenly, Lanqin felt like a million alpacas were stampeding through her mind.

"My lord, after some thought, I've decided that since Mother just visited me, it would be best if I didn't return to the manor for the time being, lest I break the rules of the household. I imagine the other sisters might also want to return, and seeing me go back might cause them some resentment, potentially leading to unrest in the entire manor. That would be my fault, and I beg you to retract your earlier 'permission'." Lanqin said with a "virtuous and proper" smile, speaking with conviction.

The Fourth Master suppressed a laugh, raised his hand and flicked her forehead, saying, "Then I'll grant your wish. After I leave, you're allowed to visit your parents' home for three days."

Fourth Master, if you continue to spoil Lanqin like this, she'll become increasingly unruly!

"Oh yeah! I'm the best, long live I'm the best!!" Lanqin cheered, raising her hands almost without thinking.

"No manners! How could you say those two words so carelessly? You really have no sense of propriety." As soon as Fourth Master heard the words "Long live the Emperor" come out of Lanqin's mouth, he was so shocked that he immediately reached out and covered her mouth, and scolded her sternly.

Lanqin quickly made a "surrender" gesture, raising one hand horizontally to the side of her head as if to say "I want to reflect on my actions".

Fourth Master glanced at Lanqin, who looked pitiful at the moment, but in the end he couldn't bring himself to get really angry. He raised his hand and tapped her small mouth, which could hold an oil bottle. Lanqin understood perfectly, and immediately lowered her throat and said in a voice as soft as a mosquito's buzz, "Master, this is the last time, this is the last time!" After saying that, she looked up at Fourth Master with her big, adorable eyes that could drip water.

As they were talking, they arrived at Zui Bai Lou. As soon as Lan Qin heard the noisy commotion outside the carriage, she reached out and opened the small window of the carriage.

Wow, there stands a six-story wooden building with carved eaves (similar to the Yellow Crane Tower), covered with red lanterns. A large flag flutters on both sides of the building, bearing the three characters "Zui Bai Lou" written in small seal script.

"Is this the ancient 'five-star hotel'?" Lanqin thought to herself.

The driver opened the side door of the carriage and was already kneeling respectfully on the ground, waiting for the two of them to come out.

Fourth Master stepped down, and Lanqin followed closely, carefully stepping on the living person, her heart filled with unease.

The servant standing at the door had already seen the extraordinary-looking man and woman emerge from a carriage that was not from an ordinary household, and he bowed to greet them.

"Sir, please come in, please come in!" the waiter said with an extremely enthusiastic smile.

Lanqin habitually gave him a slight nod, but Fourth Master naturally kept his eyes straight ahead, walking forward with an "unfathomable" expression.

As soon as the two entered the gate, the waiters were bustling about the hotel, carrying dishes and drinks. The sounds of drinking games, laughter, and clinking glasses could be heard from time to time.

Upon seeing Fourth Master, a middle-aged man who was the manager standing by the door immediately changed his smile to one of awe and caution. He rushed to Fourth Master, bowed, and said, "Honorable guest, I pay my respects to you!"

Fourth Master still didn't even glance at him, coldly asking, "Is there a private room?"

The shopkeeper nodded repeatedly, waved away the greeter, extended a hand in a gesture of invitation, and said, "Honorable guest, please, this way please!"

The two followed the middle-aged shopkeeper up the wooden stairs. Lanqin couldn't help but look around, feeling as if she had stepped into an ancient TV drama.

The two were led into a rather quiet and elegant room. Lanqin wanted to suggest to the Fourth Master that they sit down, but when she saw his imposing and dignified appearance, she had no choice but to swallow her words.

"What are you standing there for? Order now." As soon as Lanqin arrived, Fourth Master ran to the window and pushed open the wooden window.

"Manager, just bring out all your signature dishes. As for how much, just fill this round table." Lanqin said without any hesitation after hearing that Fourth Master had spoken.

I'm here today to splurge and have some fun. To throw that out to the waiter in a "five-star hotel"—it feels so classy!

The shopkeeper glanced at the Fourth Master, who nodded, and the shopkeeper immediately bowed and repeatedly said yes before retreating out.

The waiter who brought the tea came in and was taken aback when he saw the scene inside: a cold and dignified man was sitting upright at the head of the round table, while the young woman who should have been bowing her head was standing by the window, looking down at the hall below.

Fourth Master was already used to Lanqin's unpredictable manner, and thought to himself: Now that we're out here, let's not think about any rules and regulations.

"Pour the tea." Fourth Master said without changing his expression, his eyes filled with gentle warmth as he looked at Lanqin's profile.

The servant did as instructed, thinking to himself: This master is obviously no ordinary person, probably a high-ranking official in the court, but the woman beside him is very strange. Judging from her appearance, she is probably a favored concubine.

"Sit down quickly. Look at you, did you often go out with your father before?" Looking at Lanqin's excited face, Fourth Master thought to himself: This little thing is probably not one to be kept at home.
