This scene of revelry and celebration is, in fact, a tragedy for the nation. They live off the country's resources, engage in corruption, and exploit the people. Now, with the border in crisis and the country in trouble, they still haven't forgotten to squeeze more money out of the country. Truly, treacherous officials are in power, and the people are suffering.
Hearing this, Hongzhou gritted his teeth. The border was in dire straits, and unscrupulous merchants were trying to profit from the national crisis. Not only did these treacherous officials want to profit, but they also wanted to use the situation to delay the court. Did they all disregard the Qing Dynasty? If it weren't for the Qing Dynasty and the border guards protecting them, they wouldn't have the chance to drink and eat meat here.
Hongzhou grew increasingly furious. He had now discovered that this was related to the He family, and the one who revealed his identity was none other than Fucha Argon, the father of the Fucha clan. Next, he needed to figure out how to deal with the food shortage at the border and how to deal with that old fox, Fucha Argon.
After Qingluo finished her dance, Young Master He dismissed everyone and left with Fucha Argon. Before leaving, Young Master He asked Qingluo to keep him company with drinks.
Confined in a cage, Qingluo had no choice but to accompany him without making too many excuses. Besides, Young Master He had already implied some ulterior motive in inviting her here today.
After the two musicians, including Hongzhou, were sent back to the previous room, there was no further movement. Quite some time later, someone brought them some food. The food was quite palatable, and the two seemed very satisfied with Qingluo. However, since their separation, Qingluo has not returned.
Ke'er began to worry about her young mistress. The food proved that the host and guests were very satisfied with Qingluo. The fact that Qingluo was invited to accompany the old, decrepit guest meant that she should be with him. She feared that if her mistress wasn't brought out soon, she might be taken advantage of by this man. Despite her worries, Ke'er didn't know what to do.
Seeing Ke'er's worry, Hongzhou said, "Since Miss Ke'er is so worried about Miss Qingluo's safety, why don't you go and find Miss Qingluo? But you should find a good excuse beforehand."
"What should I do? How can I find an excuse?" Ke'er really wanted to go out and find Qingluo, but she didn't know what excuse to use.
"Then it's more like delivering medicine to Miss Qingluo," Hongzhou said, offering Ke'er a plan.
Seeing Ke'er's confusion, Hongzhou whispered a few words in her ear. Ke'er's face lit up with joy upon hearing this. So, Ke'er came out of the room, found the steward, and said to him, "Please take me to find Miss. It's time for her to take her medicine."
The steward asked in surprise, "I wonder if this Miss Qingluo is feeling unwell? Does she need to take medicine?"
Ke'er looked troubled and told the steward that Miss Qingluo had a sore throat.
The steward looked at Ke'er, his expression seemingly asking, "Is it really just a throat ailment?" But he didn't ask any further questions and led her to another room.
"This is all so winding and turning," Ke'er thought to herself. "Luckily, I didn't just wander out looking for Miss, otherwise I would have gotten completely lost before I even found her."
But if it really was just about drinking to liven things up, why be so secretive? This only confirmed Ke'er's suspicions. In order to prevent her mistress from being taken advantage of, Ke'er asked the housekeeper to hurry up, as her mistress was waiting to take her medicine.
The steward simply said that they had arrived and that the maid should not be in a hurry, as it would be alright if they were a little late.
Ke'er didn't dare to directly express her anger, so she said, "It's whose master is in charge, and that's why they're anxious." It seemed she was blaming the steward.
