The cook had probably never seen such a way of urging the food to be served before, and she was so startled that she dropped the ladle in her hand with a clatter.
The noise startled the others in the kitchen, who all turned to look at Xueying.
"Now I need you to make beef noodle soup right away, and prepare everything immediately, including any food that can help the patient quickly replenish blood and heal wounds." Xueying continued, her tone stern and her expression extremely agitated, which frightened the cook into nodding hastily, not daring to utter a word of dissent.
Xueying waited until the plump cook had prepared her food before placing it on a black tray and personally serving it to Hongli.
"Pichiu, come here quickly!" After Xueying put the tray down, she realized that there was no way to feed Hongli.
"Master!" Pichoo obediently entered.
"Go and pick up Prince Beilang. There aren't any cushions here, so you'll have to be his cushion. Help him up, but don't aggravate his wounds," Xueying said anxiously. There was practically nothing here.
Pichu quickly helped Hongli up, but his movements were not gentle, which made Xueying worry.
"It hurts!" Hongli couldn't help but say. "This wretched Xiongnu child seems to be loyal only to Xueying, and doesn't care about anyone else."
"Pichiu, slow down, be gentle," Xueying said, frowning.
“Master, Pichu is already very light.” Pichu said sincerely, and suddenly he didn’t have a good impression of this “Prince” who was too fair-skinned.
Xueying didn't bother arguing with him. She quickly took the beef noodle soup, scooped up a spoonful, blew on it, and brought it to Hongli's lips.
Hongli was also hungry, and he ate spoonful by spoonful very cooperatively. Although his wound was still painful, it seemed to have lessened after the herbal compresses applied by the military doctor. The military doctor had just come and fed him a bowl of medicine.
After finishing a bowl of beef noodle soup, Hongli immediately felt much more energetic.
"Master, you haven't eaten yet. Why don't you go and eat first? I'm full," Pichu said, unable to bear it any longer.
"..." Hongli wanted to glare at Pichu, but he was too weak to express his dissatisfaction.
"Master, would you like something else to eat?" Xueying asked uncertainly.
Hongli wanted to nod, but in the end he shook his head and said, "I'm done, I'm full."
Actually, Pichu whispered to Hongli behind his back that if he ate too much, it would be difficult to go to the toilet later.
Xueying looked at Hongli with some doubt, and only after confirming that he was really full did she have Pichu lay him down.
"Master, Pichu is here. Master, go eat." Pichu said honestly.
Xueying nodded and then crawled out of the tent.
"You're quite protective of your master!" Hongli said, lying on the bed.
“If Master doesn’t protect him, who will Pichu protect?” Pichu replied.
"Are you Xiongnu people really able to move freely at night?" Hongli asked again.
“Yes, we are descendants of wolves,” Pichu said.
Hongli resisted the urge to roll his eyes and continued to ask, "When your master returns to the Central Plains, will you go with him?"
“Wherever Master goes, Pichu will follow,” Pichu said.
"Do you know that your mistress is the master's concubine, and she will be returning to the master's residence in the future? So if you go with her, you can only go to the master's residence," Hongli said meaningfully.
