Chapter 3091 Personally Serving Tea

Led by the Eighth Prince's personal maid, Chen arrived at the Eighth Prince's residence with a submissive demeanor, standing outside the door for a long time, reluctant to go in.

"What does the Princess Consort want with me?" Madam Chen was filled with anxiety. She knew that the Eighth Prince had been imprisoned in the Dali Temple. Although she didn't quite understand why, she knew that the Prince's mansion was in trouble. Later, the Emperor ordered the house arrest of everyone in the Eighth Prince's mansion, which made her even more worried. She hid in her room all day and dared not come out.

The personal maid was used to scolding, but remembering the Eighth Prince's wife's previous instructions, she put on a gentle tone and asked, "Princess Chen, you'll know when you go in. The Prince's wife wants to see you!"

Chen's hands twirled incessantly in her sleeves, her legs trembling with fear. She had always been afraid of the Eighth Prince's wife, and had suffered greatly because of it. She would avoid the Eighth Prince's wife whenever possible, and would never dare to offend her in the slightest.

"Did the Fujin say anything? Miss can give the instructions on behalf of the Fujin. There's no need for the Fujin to come looking for me personally..." Chen still didn't dare to go in. In her anxiety, she deliberately clutched her stomach and said painfully, "Ouch, I... I suddenly have a stomachache... I... I'll go back first!"

When Madam Chen tried to leave, she was stopped by the Eighth Prince's personal maid. The maid looked disdainful and said contemptuously, "Princess Chen, do you intend to disobey the Prince's orders? You were perfectly fine when you came here, how come you're in pain all of a sudden?"

"Please!" the maid said firmly, leaving no room for Chen to refuse.

Seeing this, Chen had no choice but to grit her teeth and push the door open to go inside.

The Eighth Prince's wife was sitting at the front when she saw Madam Chen enter. She hurriedly got up and rushed over.

"Sister, you've finally arrived!" The Eighth Princess Consort warmly grabbed Chen's hand, noticing that Chen's hands were already sweaty. She raised an eyebrow at Chen, who shrank back in fright and lowered her head, saying in a low voice, "This humble servant greets the Princess Consort. May I ask what brings you here, Princess Consort?"

The Eighth Prince's wife gently patted Chen's hand and comforted her, "Look at you, why are you so nervous? We are all people who serve the Prince, so we should naturally be like sisters. I was wrong before, I was too demanding of my younger sister."

He then pulled Chen to sit down, smiling as he said, "Look, I've figured it out now. We sisters will support each other..."

Chen was completely bewildered by what the Eighth Prince's wife said, and nodded obsequiously in agreement, saying, "Sister is right. I was ignorant, please forgive me."

The Eighth Princess nodded in satisfaction, glanced at Madam Chen's dry lips, glared at the maid and scolded, "Hurry up and pour tea for Madam, what are you standing there for?"

The maidservant turned around and brought tea, first offering it to the Eighth Prince's wife's table. However, the Eighth Prince's wife pressed the maidservant's hand, got up herself to pour a cup of tea, and smiled as she offered it to Madam Chen: "Sister, have some tea. I know you must be tired from your journey. It's all my fault for neglecting you..."

When Madam Chen saw the Eighth Prince's wife bring her tea, her heart tightened and she immediately knelt on the ground, saying timidly, "Your Highness is too kind to me, I really don't deserve this!"

The Eighth Prince's wife put down her cup and reached out with both hands to help her up, feigning reproach, "What are you doing, little sister? Get up quickly!"

Chen Shi rose tremblingly, head bowed, not daring to look at the Eighth Prince's wife. The Eighth Prince's wife insisted on pouring tea for Chen Shi, but Chen Shi refused. The Eighth Prince's wife's face darkened slightly with anger, and she said, "Sister, are you disrespecting my elder sister, or are you unwilling to forgive my elder sister's previous rudeness?"

Madam Chen was startled, her face turned pale and she shook her head desperately: "No, no, no... I dare not, I have never blamed you, Madam, so please forgive me."

The Eighth Princess smiled, stepped forward and pushed the cup, saying, "Then hurry up and accept it. Drink this cup of tea, and the misunderstanding between us sisters will be resolved..." Madam Chen hesitated for a moment, but still accepted the teacup with both hands.
